Just saw this guy give a lecture. The US Gov't manipulates energy markets to affect geo-political goals? Ya don't say? Anyway, should be an interesting, if technical, read.

The first book on the oil industry I ready. mr Norman lays out some basic principles. Oil is about national security - so much of the foreign entanglements we are involved in are becasue of oil. The 21st century will not be so much defined by military warfare but by economic warfare. The biggest threat will be China

This book is filled with more data than any book I have read. I don't believe in conspiracy theories but after reading this book it makes you wonder....
