Pointe shoes, tutus, and a snowy road trip with the man she hates. What could possibly go wrong?

The plan was simple. Get to Portland, dance The Nutcracker, and don’t murder your dance partner. And most definitely, do not, under any circumstances, fall in love with him.

A snowy road trip strands Elle Grant in a tiny cabin better suited for serial killings than rehearsals for

I'm a total sucker for books about ballet and/or ballet dancers, so I was super excited to read this one. Especially since I think Megan O'Russell is a talented writer. I've read the two books in her Tethering series (can't wait for the 3rd one!) and a couple short stories set in the Tethering world, and liked them all. It was fun to read something totally different. And something that was light and funny. And this book was quite funny. The texting between the main character and her roommate cra ...more

Megan O’Russell’s Nuttycracker Sweet is, like the title implies, sweet. When master ballet dancer Elle’s flight is delayed by a storm, she is forced to make new plans to stay with a womanizing colleague. O’Russell’s writing is fun, witty, and believable and I was pleasantly reminded of romantic classics like While You Were Sleeping. A perfect romance for the holidays!

Nuttycracker Sweet is a light-hearted romance set behind the scenes in the world of professional dancers. Elle Grant is delighted to be dancing a soloist role as the Sugarplum Fairy even in a Portland, Maine performance of the Nutcracker. But she has to travel through a snowstorm to get to that stage. Then she gets stranded with the one male dancer she would do anything to avoid. Zach Benson is incredibly handsome, charming and a skilled dancer. He’s also a notorious seducer. Elle explains that ...more

Note: I was provided with a free ebook copy in return for an honest review.

Ever wanted to read the cliched hate-to-love romance but didn’t want to spend 200 or so pages reading? Well then this is for you.

Nuttycracker sweet is a story of two ballet dancers who are on their way to perform but get stuck in the middle due to the weather. The airplane turned roadtrip failed when there was too much disturbance ahead with poor vision, and hence they end up in a hunter’s cabin to wait out the storm.

I was sent this book for free by Enchanted Book Promotions.

I was expecting a sweet, fluffy romance to bring on all the festive feelings and ‘Nutcracker Sweet’ certainly delivered.

Elle was extremely vitriolic towards Zach, and without knowing the full backstory she was almost too aggressive to begin with. As the backstory is gradually revealed though, her feelings seem more reasonable, although it is clear from Zach’s reactions that he feels maligned by the whole scenario.

There were a few consist

Well at least it's a quick read. Total Harlequin Romance fare, set in the world of ballet. Seemingly insurmountable problems between two would-be lovers are resolved in a few pages. Kind of dreck, but if you want a pleasant, chick kind of a read to pass away a few hours, this is as good as any other. At least, you're spared the soft porn kind of sex scenes most of these types of books offer up.
