She couldn’t get him out of her mind—
and that’s when the trouble started.

FBI Special Agent Alana Matheson is good at her job, despite a past that would make even a seasoned agent cringe. She has no time for the outside help the victim’s family has brought in on a kidnapping case, no matter how good-looking he is.

But galactic tracker Gabriel Cruz is no ordinary private inve

First of all, I have to say how incredibly impressed I was from page 1 of this book, because I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review, BUT, at the time I accepted it, I had no idea it was the second book in a series. Due to time constraints, and not wanting to let the author down, I decided to see if it was a book I could read without reading the first in the series, and maybe piecing together what had happened previously. As it turned out, I did not need the first b ...more

Alana Matheson and Gabriel Cruz are a very hot pair in Trouble in Mind. In many ways.

FBI agent Alana gets hot under the collar when Gabriel, a civilian with special tracking skills, insists on being part of her investigation of the kidnapping of a woman and her young son. But together, they are hot on the trail of the bad guys. Alana ends up in hot water with her boss when a stakeout goes bad. And when Gabriel gets too close to Alana, she gets so angry, I could practically see the steam wafting

*** Gifted in exchange for an honest review ***

This book is ok to be read as a standalone, BUT I do recommend reading book 1 first, purely because the author created a great suspense novel that introduces the Interstellar world which book 2 is based in, and of course the characters from book 1 Ethan Roberts, Asia Burdette, and Jack their foster son that FBI Agent Alana Matheson is tracking, with the unwanted help of private investigator Gabriel Cruz, but the skills he brings to the job will save

Enter, Special FBI agent Alana Matheson (Lana) and telepath/tracker Gabriel Cruz. As the second book in the author’s Interstellar Rescue Series, Trouble in Mind is another amazing tale of suspense, adventure, intrigue, and sci-fi/other worldly beings. In the first book, Asia and Ethan (Dr. Roberts) fell in love as they were trying to piece together the three years Asia lost while in captivity. Now, while out on a family picnic with their son, Jack, Asia and Jack are kidnapped and Ethan is badly beaten. Enter, Special FBI agent Alana Matheson (Lana) and telepath/tracker Gabrie ...more

What if aliens really were abducting humans, for slave labor and sometimes for their psychic powers? That’s the premise behind Donna S. Frelick’s Interstellar Rescue series.

Trouble In Mind (the second book in the series, but definitely readable as a stand alone—I haven’t read the first one yet) begins as a suspense novel, with FBI Agent Alana Matheson called in on what seems like a routine kidnapping case. A woman and her son have been snatched from a remote location, leaving her husband beaten

Telepaths, aliens, and slaves, oh my. Trouble in Mind was packed with all sorts of futuristic concepts complete with spaceships, laser beams, and attempts at Galactic Domination. Visions of Captain Kirk come to mind. And just like on Star Trek, there was plenty of sexual activity to go along with trying to keep law and order throughout the universe. And in this instance, there is an ensemble cast of heroes just like the crew aboard the Starship Enterprise. The main hero is Gabr

I read and reviewed the first book in this series, Unchained Memory last year on Reading Reality and Weirde reviewed it in an issue of Sci-Fi Romance Quarterly. I think I liked the first book more than Weirde did, but as always, your warp speed may vary.

I was certainly looking forward to seeing where the author took her exploration of alien abductions, from the perspectives of humans who remember the trauma, the aliens who exploit those humans, and the good

I received an eARC of this book via Lady Amber's Book Tours in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of this review.

Trouble in Mind by Donna Frelick was an interesting read….to the say the least! It combined all my favorite elements into one book: epic science fiction, multiple character points of view, steamy romance, and amazing world-building. FBI Agent Alana Matheson is at a loss when trying to find the missing/kidnapped Asia and Jack Rober

Trouble In Mind is book 2 in The Interstellar Rescue series! I was not paying much attention to the cover when I dove right in to this stellar awesome book so I had no idea that it was book 2!! I did not struggle to read it at all even though I had no knowledge of book 1. I have since added book 1 to my TBR because the characters I met in this book are freaking out of this world amazing! I can not wait to follow

Second in a series - works just fine as a stand-alone. I have only read the second book and had no problems.

A police procedural, science fiction, political plotting, romance genre mashup which starts out strong on the police procedural following the kidnapping. The main character (MC) is a female FBI agent called in to help with the Amber Alert. In the next chapter the science fiction element is introduced by way of the psychic half-alien hero extracting a scientist on another world. The captain

Trouble in mind by Donna S Frelick

FBI Special Agent Alana Matheson is put on a kidnapping case with Galactic Tracker Gabriel Cruz. But they are not the only ones trying to find the boy and his Mother. It is up to Alana and Gabriel to fight the alien hunters and save lives.

A complex story with many characters, the plot is original but easy to follow. The story moves at a steady place with well developed characters, there is an equal amount of drama, action, danger, suspense and romance. Overall I

Good intergalactic romance

This was a good romp through the stars. The hero and heroine must team up to save a kidnapped mother and son. Along the way they discover they are meant for each other. Quick paced and exciting, full of adventure and love.
