I've enjoyed every book in Karen Erickson's Wildwood series, but Torch is my favorite to date. I loved the snarky, love/hate relationship between the hero and heroine, I enjoyed watching the heroine's big brother's bluster over the guy she gets involved with and I really loved watching the hero work to convince the heroine they were good together. Simply put Torch was a well rounded romance with great characters, an interesting ongoi

Wren Gallagher’s and Tate Warren’s story has been teased about in Karen Erickson’s previous books and I was eager for this frenemies-in-lust trope to come to fruition here. To some extent, I wasn’t disappointed, because ‘Torch’ did exceed my expectation when it came to resolving Wren’s and Tate’s initial impressions of each other and how it progressed onto something more…precipitated by friends’ gatherings, an ex and a case of arson that left Wren with close to nothing.

Even as these events prov

For all who have fallen in love with Karen Erickson's Wildwood series and have been waiting and wanting feisty baby sister, Gallagher (Wren's story) with cocky, womanizer Tate, it's here and the wait was well worth it for these two. In the first two books, which were West and Lane's story, the romance was building between Wren and Tate. Yes, we love seeing these two taunt each other with their bickering, trying to best the other. But we also knew Wren and Tate’s feelings were going to explode, a ...more

A sweet quick read. I enjoyed Tate and Wren, and all of the adorable pet names that Tate called Wren. I also enjoyed the dynamic of this story. You have a group of alphalike firefighters; strong men who profess what they're really looking for in life. And there is also a touch of suspense constantly hanging around in the background. The secondary characters are a wonderful addition to the story; as they help build the heroin and the heroes story. I am a late comer to this series, so I started on ...more

Wren Gallagher wasn't falling for Tate Warren's charms, he was a player thru and thru. However with all her friends pairing up and moving on, Wren is feeling displaced. Despite Tate's attraction to Wren, she has made it clear she is not interested. When a fire breaks, Tate is there to lean on but as they get to know each other better things heat up and both are falling deeply for one another. Can Wren trust Tate and is Tate willing to be a one woman man?

Quickly paced, I enjoyed the banter betwee

Torch maintains all the tension of the series while adding to the romance. Although hit has left me with far more questions than answers.

The arsonist is still on the lose in Wildwood but now things are getting personal when Wren's house goes up in flames. The only girl out of four children, Wren struggles against her brother's overbearing protectiveness. Obviously, the loss of all her worldly possessions and the chance that it wasn't just an opportunist attack sends the alpha males into overdri

Wren and Tate have been circling around each other ever since he came into town and settled down. Wren knows his type. Love ‘em and leave ‘em, always wanting more but never having seconds. Just like her father. She refuses to budge an inch on her attraction or his infuriating way of getting under her skin. Now that her brothers have paired off with her best friends, she feels stuck and so alone. Tate offers her a timid friendship that soon takes off leaving them both wanting mor

Wren Gallagher wants her life to change. She's stuck in a rut and thinks maybe moving out of
Wildwood is what she needs. She's close to her brothers, Wes, Holden and Lane, but her relationship with her parents is strained. Her father's neglect of her mom has warped her views on marriage and she doesn't want to end up settling.

Tate Warren loves his job as the captain at Cal Fire and working with West and Holden. He's best friends with Lane so the guys all spend a lot of time t

This is the 3rd book in The Wildwood series. You get pieces of Wren and Tate's banter in the precious book and I couldn't wait to read their story.
Wren Gallagher and Tate Warren definitely have to love/hate relationship down. Tate's great looks and charm (and firefighter uniform) usually go far with the ladies, but Wren won't give him the time of day. She seems to despise him because he's a total player and she wants a real relationship not a fling. But one lonely night at the local bar, Tate r

ARC Review: Torch (The Wildwood Series) by Karen Erickson

Karen Erickson outdid herself with Torch. The title the characters and the whodunit are great assets to this saucy series. Wren puts on a brave face but is really a lost soul searching for her own place. She yearns for a chance to find her happiness, even if it takes her away from the people and places she loves. Tate, is everything she wants but is scared to take a chance on. The flashy personality, his risky career and the turbulent attr

We meet Tate and Wren in the previous Wildwood books. Tate is handsome, arrogant and a player. Wren is not impressed with him at all. He is always teasing her and calling her bird names. So she can't understand why she is attracted to him. She is at a point in her life where she wants more. She sees her best friends settling down and falling in love. She is happy for them but dissatisfied with her situation. They story seems to have a a lot of threads that never really

Tate and Wren were both engaging characters. I liked Tate right away and I thought his habit of calling Wren different bird names as a joke was actually rather amusing and clever, so this assisted me in not only appreciating what he was doing but also being able to believe in their eventual relationship.

I enjoyed this book, their relationship, the progression of it as she is forced to stay with him temporarily was also interesting. That said, I ne

Wren feels like she is stuck in a rut, Tate is best friends with her brother but Wren and Tate have a love to hate relationship after she has called him out on the number of women he dates. Will they be able to over there past issues and see how perfect they would be together?

As with all of Karen's books, there is great chemistry between Tate and Wren. I loved the story and way it developed throughout the book. This is a bit of a slow burn romance and the author throws in a few drama's along th

Loved this one! Tate is just so yummy and the way he teases Wren just made me laugh. All outward appearances would point to Wren hating Tate but there is a thin line between love and hate. When Tate decides enough is enough and decides to really pursue Wren she is definitely pushed over the line. All his cute names for her drives her crazy but Dove seems to do something funny to her heart. Will she continue to resist him or will she finally give in to what her heart really wants? You definitely ...more

This was my favorite book in the series. Tate is an outsider. He came to the town a year earlier as a Fire Captain. Acting as a man whore did not endear him to Wren. Female tourists had no problems going a round or two with a fireman. Wren got enough of this with her brothers so wanted nothing to do with Tate.

Wren's brothers have settled down and she has been left behind. No relationship. No prospects. She is just stuck dealing with the annoying Tate. He calls her various bird names with his se

Awe, man... I was so totally looking forward to Tate and Wren's story.  I love a good "you annoy the crap out of me" to "let make babies" romance.  Unfortunately for me, this one took me on a twisty, meandering trail to get me to their happily ever after.  I liked it... I just wasn't fully ga-ga over the story.

Wren and Tate have been in the Wildwood series since book one.  Wren is West and Lane's little sister who lives in the small town of Wildwood doing accounting work.  She's also part owner

The characters are well developed and likable, with a storyline that will hook you from beginning to the end. I could not get enough of these two.

I don’t very often give 5 stars. If I do, it’s because I feel the book is something special. I think Torch just had something different, special, good.

If you have not read the previous two books in the series, you don’t have too, they are all stand alones. However, I highly recommend reading them. Then go and grab yourself a copy of this book.

Briefly, Wren and Tate have a tenuous relationship. He loves to tease and flirt with her, make suggestive comments and drive her crazy. Wren gives as good

Torch is Karen Erickson's latest novel, and it is the third book in her Wildwood series. It is a quick-paced romance that can be enjoyed as a standalone. This book is about Wren Gallagher, a freelance bookkeeper and a financial partner in her best friend's dance studio. Wren is sometimes bothered by her very overprotective brothers, but she learns to live with it, especially since they are romantically involved with her two best friends. Wren wants to fall in love, but does not want to get hurt ...more
