Librarian Note: There is more than one author by this name in the Goodreads database.

When I'm not up to my knees in nappies, I write children's books. I also spend a fair amount of time eating chocolate. I try to write funny, read-aloud books that parents will enjoy as much as children - after all, if you have to share the same stories umpteen times, you may as well enjoy them.
I hope you like my books enough to read them umpteen times. Thank you - Michelle.

Read for my toddler's bedtime. A Goodnight story to a trip to outer space. Vocabulary words of all words that deals with space: shuttle, milky way, astronauts, and counting down for lift off. A trip to space decked out with suits, helmets, gloves, etc. Super cute story and illustrations! The outer space view with spaceships, planets, and stars were great! An added bonus was the view and actions on the inside of the spaceship. We love it and recommend this book to everyone!

Thank you Sourcebooks Kids for the opportunity to read and review!

I was excited to receive Goodnight Spaceman as it will be my son’s first book, okay so he is not 2 yet, he is only 4.5 months old but reading is such an important thing for me and I wanted to start reading to him very early on.

This book is a great bedtime book for children, boys and girls. It is a quick read with only 32 pages and has just a few words on each page making it a great starter book for children when they learn to read themselves too.

The illustrations are fantastic and colourful which captures children instantly, the words are big and it is a lovely little story.

My son actually loves me reading this to him; he gets rather excited flailing his legs about with glee.

There is also a CD with the book, which is read by ESA Astronaut Tim Peake which is absolutely amazing.

What is even more fascinating is that it is the first ever bedtime story to be recorded in SPACE! And with Tim Peake being practically a superstar amongst young boys at the moment, inspiring them to get their rockets and spaceship toys out and play with them and maybe even inspiring them to become astronauts when they are older it is a must read.

I would definitely recommend it, my son loves it and I am sure when he learns to read he will be reading it himself too.

There is a letter from astronaut ESA Tim Peake at the beginning.

This book is a perfect bedtime story. It features two space loving boys who aspire to join their dad up in space. They are getting ready for bed and say good night to their toy rocket ships, launch pads, planet mobiles before they venture off into space to have their own space adventure.

My son adores this book and it is a family favourite. This is perfect for any young child who loves space or has a good curiosity about space.

The simplicity of the prose makes it easy for a child to begin and end the sentences with you.

The illustrations are really lovely and colourful.

Goodnight Spaceman made me feel very sleepy, which is exactly what it's intended for, but it's meant that I can't remember much of it even though we only read it at story time two days ago. Definitely planning on revisiting this one at some point in the future because the illustrations are gorgeous and the story is very soothing, but a little bit too soothing when you're an exhausted mother!

I like the flow of the words, and the idea somewhat. Just found it totally confusing and don't understand how the kids are suddenly in space, or are they imagining it? Little one seems to like it and accepts the bizarre.

For Early years children.

Inspired by European Space Agency astronaut Tim Peake and his sons. Tim Peake is the first official British ESA astronaut. His time in space has been watched by millions and he is inspiring a new generation of explorers, adventurers and questioners.

Perfect bed time book.

A beautifully illustrated book.

The simple easy to remember rhyming story will capture children’s imagination and introduce them to the stars and space travel.

Leads to watching YouTube videos of him in space which opened up so many more questions on space.

Large print so easy to read.

A shame that one of the children is not female as this may portray the view that only boys should be interested in space.

Beautiful children's book that inspires and encourages curiosity and exploration.

Goodnight Spaceman is the sixth book in Michelle Robinson and Nick East's beloved series. The other books are called Goodnight Digger, Goodnight Tractor, Goodnight Princess, Goodnight Pirate and Goodnight Santa.

The sixth book of the "Goodnight ..." series, 'Goodnight Spaceman' tells the story of two boys who aspires to join their dad, an astronaut, on a space adventure, just before their bedtime. The book stretches a child's imagination and hopefully, will inspire children to be whomever they aspire to be when they grow up.

Writing-wise, the story is written in a rhythmic fashion that is easy enough for children to follow. The illustration is rather cute as well.

The book that I had also came with a cd of a bedtime story recorded by astronaut Tim Peake in space! How cool is that?!?

Overall, a good read - would give it 3.5 stars. I wouldn't mind reading the first five books - if I can find them.
