Just so you know, everything Ines writes that I read so far brings in the clean (yes, because I have dirty feels okay) feels that never fails to warm my (cold, lol) heart. Just a Little Bit of Love is no exception.
And OMG!!! I felt so high during and after reading this because EEEE SO! KILIIIIG!!! I had no idea what to do with myself! Maybe jump up and down like a kid who won a candy from a store?! Just ...more

I wasn't certain what to expect with these three short stories, having never before read anything by this author, but I was pleasantly surprised. The prose was engaging, the character fairly interesting and the short stories well managed.
The first story is about a girl who waits until she realizes she can't wait any longer. The second is about a girl obsessed with a boy who learns that she can't hide from real love. The third is about a wedding planner who has a sweet romance with a cameraman. I ...more

Just a Little Bit of love tells three short stories set in the world of Only A Kiss, and if you loved that book like I did, you will devour this collection like freshly baked cheese rolls. The thing about Ines Bautista-Yao's writing is that it's like a time warp, transporting you back to that period of first kisses and awkward crushes. Like that time when you hid in the corner, gathering up your courage to say hi to that boy you always saw in that same spot. And that time when you had a massive

Oh, the days spent pining for someone, hoping beyond hope that they felt the same feelings about you. Each of these three stories did a good job of capturing the emotional agony and frustration of unrequited love from different stages of young life. My only complaint about these stories, especially “On the Sidelines”, is they should have been longer. I think the attempts to keep them short often forced the dialogue to be a bit generic and kept scenes from unfolding naturally. I would say the mai

Just a Little Bit of Love by Ines Bautista-Yao is a sweet collection of short stories that will tug at your heart-strings.
Having recently read Only a Kiss, I already knew about the main characters, Katie and Chris in the first story, so that particular story is a great companion to the longer book. The other two stories stand on their own and are such sweet love stories, I thoroughly enjoyed them.

I binged this story a bit like a box of candy. Started out saying I'd read a few pages before bedtime and just couldn't stop, in spite of repeatedly telling myself I needed to go to bed, so I suppose it is a good thing it is short.
While it has some mentions of the characters in the novel it supports, they are sort of background figures for the most part. The writing was lively and had a really strong, youthful voice. The characters are believable teens without being annoying teens, which is hard ...more

This book was a collection of three short sweet romance stories. The first one was much shorter than the others and didn't feel complete compared to the two longer ones. All three are interesting and written by a polished author. They will appeal to teens and those who like sweet romance, and especially those who have already read Ms. Yao's longer work, Only a Kiss, since these stories are about some of the minor characters.

Just a Little Bit of Love captures perfectly the angsty relationships between teens and the complex inner world of life at that age. This charming read is quick, fun, and perfect for teens and adults. I loved the characters in each of these short stories, so well-developed that I felt as if they were people I might know. Bautista-Yao clearly feels the pulse of the teen world. Well done!
