I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a very cute read. I was surprised by the seriousness of a few of the issues that came up in the book; I wasn't expecting the depth that there was to these characters and their stories. That said, I was expecting a bit of a climax and there really wasn't one to be found. I thought it was a bit all over the place in that sense. The synopsis definitely does not do this book justice, and there is much more to it

Got this from Netgalley for an honest review:

This was such a feel good book for me. It shows what happens when your past can come back to bite you even after you get out of the situation. It also shows how even with people around you helping a lot of the time you have to come to do what you need to do on your own sometimes. You can have people around you shower you with love and advice but most people in the book surrounding Hannah and Bear always said its up to them to take that step to make th

The book begins kind of sad, with the passing of Hannah's grandmother. The family history there isn't exactly cookie cutter, but the love between the two was real, even though so much time had passed from the last time they communicated. When Bear literally comes to Hannah's rescue - twice - it starts the beginning of the friendship between the two. With the possibility of it growing into more than that - the fact that Hannah is on Mercy Island to start over and make a life for herself and Bear ...more

Genre:  Romance,

I liked the sound of this and is was a sweet novel, a good story but nothing that lifted it into a great one for me.

I liked Hannah, and admired her taking charge of herself after what had happened to her. that must have taken a lot of courage, and its something that happens to many, many people :-( Bear was a great character too and I liked him. He’d been stuck in Mercy Island looking after his sister, and

Hannah’s grandmother passed away and Hannah has moved to her island home to start over. Then there was a big storm and bear offered to help Hannah fix the damage that was done by the storm. Then Bear and Hannah begin a friendship with a little flirting shot in. But Bear looks at Mercy Island as a prison and all he wants to do is escape it. Alistair was Hannah’s ex and that is why she wants a new beginning as he had been abusive as well as controlling. Bear had a very difficult upbringing . Bear t ...more

This was a beautiful story of self discovery and understanding.

I loved Bear's character! He was probably one the best book boyfriends I've read about. He was attractive, kind, caring, hard-working, but to me the most important thing was that he truly understood Hannah, and tried his best to be there for her in her hardest moments, because he knew what she was going through.

Hannah was a really strong character. After being in an abusive relationship, she finally moved away from her boyfriend, and

Pieces of Me is the heartwarming story of Hannah and Bear, two people who are trying to overcome their painful pasts. The warm and caring relationship between them grows at a steady pace throughout the story and eventually they are faced with decisions regarding their present and future. I love how supportive and encouraging Bear is, and how Hannah blossoms as she rediscovers her true self. This is a well-written,

Beautiful story! Bear and Hannah couldn't have made a better couple. They were both damaged people who needed a break and some one to love. When Hannah moved to get a fresh start in life she never expected to meet Bear, unknownly it was the best thing that ever happened to either one of them. She was able to live her life in happiness and Bear was able to stop running from life in general. Honest review in exchange for a ARC.

Honestly, there’s not much that I can say about this book other than I just didn’t like it. The very first thing that bothered me was the name Bear. I just couldn’t take him seriously with that name. Every single time that he made an appearance, I thought of this big fat, beefy, hairy man, which obviously took away from the appeal. Seriously, you got to think of the consequences of names!

I knew that I was going to possibly have an issue w

Jacquie lives in Central Queensland, Australia, where it's always hot and humidity constantly coats the skin, summer or winter.

After her profession as an accountant almost killed her (with mind-numbing boredom), she is on permanent hiatus.

She now spends her time wrapped up in her imagination, creating characters, exploring alternative realities, and falling in love with a host of mouth-watering he
