In a world of chaos and pain, you are my silence."

Silent Scars was my first book by this author and I can say with certainty it will not be my last. I do think I did myself a disservice by jumping into book 4 in this series without having read the previous books. Don't get me wrong, this works well as a standalone and I was never confused, but it's clear there's a history with the secondary characters that I was missing. Ryan's relationship with his brothers is something I would hav

Oh, wow!! There’s such a variety of awesome in this book.

-Fun moments (I just love how the brothers tease, how little Alfie stakes his claim on women, and when the whole gang is together!),

-Sad, heartbreaking moments (Too many to count whenever you watch Ryan go through all his troubles and reveal parts of his awful past),

-Scary moments (There’s a stalker, so...that’s a given),

-Hold-your-breath-for-the-next-word moments (the kidnapping scene...just, yeah, wow, intense!),

A deeply emotional and heartbreaking story!! Silent Scars by Ada Frost was a beautiful gut wrenching story that took readers on a wave of emotions as a hero battles an internal war of guilt, loss, anger, and brokenness. The physical scars may be on the outside but his internal emotional scars of darkness are the ones that runs and cuts deep. It is those scars that shatters him leaving him to believe that there is nothing left of his heart a

Oh, how I've been waiting to read Ryan's story ever since I met him in book two, which is Lou and Johan's story, Surviving Love. Ryan is a big, beautiful, ex-marine, but he is a shell of a man. I knew Ryan's story was going to be a hard one for me to read because it was going to rip my heart out. I had glimpses of the pain, the hurt, the ugly that lives inside of Ryan from the other two books before. But now, to see and feel Ryan's pain and abuse, the betrayal that's destroyed this beautiful man ...more

5 Star Review by Jen Skewes

Wow!!! What an amazing, beautiful, emotional and gut wrenching story. I loved this book so much. Since reading Surviving Love I have been waiting for Ryan’s story. I knew what he had gone through as a kid and I knew this one was going to be one hell of a roller coaster ride filled with so many emotions. I also knew that at times it may be gut wrenching and hard to read, but every emotion and every tear was completely worth it. Ada Frost did not disappoint AT ALL!!!!

I'm new to the Surviving series and to author Ada Frost, but after having finished Silent Scars, the fourth and latest book in said series, not only has my curiosity about the first three books been piqued, I've become an instant fan of the author's. Yes, this book was an advanced reader's copy, so there were certainly issues that needed to go through a round or t

Silent Scars is book four in Ada Frost's Surviving series. It can be read as a standalone. I've personally only read the previous book, Double Betrayal and absolutely recommend it. Ada Frost's writing is timeless and thoughtful and her words will stick with you for a while.

Ryan Dermont is our beautifully broken Marine that had moved to the UK to be closer to his family. He suffers from severe PTSD due to his horrific childhood and many tours overseas fighting with the United States Military. Rya
I struggled with this one. As much as I loved the previous books in the series and was desperate for Ryan's story I was a little underwhelmed. I picked this up and put it down so many times I almost gave up. Ryan's constant hot and cold, push and pull, I'm not worthy stints got a bit old after a while and started to irritate me. Aloura saved the story for me, she was quietly strong and didn't let Ryan get away with much even though he was a total tool to her at times. I get why he acted like he ...more

I hate, hate, hate that I'm saying this, but I didn't like this book. It was just okay for me.

I felt the connection between Ryan and Aloura was too instant and their interaction too sweet, bordering even on sappy sometimes.

However, I did love reading about Will, Jo, Lou, and Emily and am still a fan of Ada Frost.

Every once in a while, I read a book that snuggles itself into my heart and has the ability to move my soul. This is the book that did it. To be honest, I was not seeking this ARC out because I've never heard of this author. I was not disappointed in the least, it delivered an highly touching journey that I will not soon forget. This is my 5 wonderful, heartfelt stars for Silent Scars by Ada Frost. ARC given in exchange for an honest and spoiler free preview.

I really enjoyed this story and I was hooked throughout it.

This was my first Ada Frost books and it certainly won't be the last.

This story is about Ryan and Aloura. Ryan has been assigned as Aloura's bodyguard after her father has received death threats towards his daughter. Ryan clearly has had a traumatic childhood and past and when he arrives he just sees Aloura as daddy's little princess, well that is until he realizes that Aloura is not afraid to fight back. They do strike up a friendship

Readers drawn to stories full of gripping emotions that put them on a roller coaster ride of pain and healing alongside unforgettable characters will find this book the perfect read. Ms. Frost's name might not be well known but with a book like this it won't be long before she gets recognized for this deeply emotional and gripping tale of abuse, PTSD, and unquestionable acceptance showing the healing power of love. Add in a bit of suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat as Ms. Frost kee ...more

This was a stunning novel about a Marine who has a tortured past but is also a hero to his family and friends. This book is a journey for him to find himself, learn to live and to accept himself for who he is.

Ryan had his work cut out for him. He was a stubborn man and sometimes I wanted to slap him but with everything that's happened to him with his past, I understand to an extent as to why he did things, the way he did. Because no one should go through what h

This book is still giving me the feels. You can't help but feel something for Ryan. He's been thought dead twice now and after his horrible childhood he's got many scars inside and out. Ryan has been a hero since he was a child but he doesn't believe he's one. He's does anything possible to make sure his loved ones are protected even at the cost to himself. He may be a hero but he's dead inside and is subjected to horriable nightmares. He's tasked to protect misfit Aloura from a overzealous hate ...more

Great job, Ada Frost! Another great book from you! I was really excited about Ryan's book and I must say, there were times when it was really difficult to me to continue reading - his life wasn't an easy one, but with his angel by his side, he found his salvation. I'm hoping that soon we'll be reading more books from you - you really have talent!

P.S. The four stars are because the first two books from the series are still my most favorite :)

I will keep this short and simple. The plot initially hooked me but the story did not feel particularly unique or believable to me. I was craving characters with a lot of substance and originality. But both MC’s felt like versions of so many that I have read before — sassy heroine, cocky hero. My biggest problem was with the hero. With the type of traumatic upbringing that Ryan endured, I didn’t think it was realistic that he would be so cocky like every other alpha. Even with him bei
a wonderful read, a hearty gripping story, wonderful and unforgetable characters Ryan and Aloura, her parents and his brothers.
A story of survival and of trust. of letting the other(s) enter your space and believe in them and let them love you.
A wonderful story of abuse, sexual abuse of a child by his father, and of its effects on the self esteem, pride and image of the young man he became.
it's story of unconventional family and the love for their daughter Aloura, of her fight to make her gardia

Holy Hot Alpha bodyguard, Ada Frost where the hell have you been all my reading life? Huh? first things first, I've started this series kind of backwards. Silent Scars is the 4th book in this series. But I caught the sypnosis for this book and well, I just couldn't bloody help myself. One word Bodyguard!!, Yip I'm a sucker for a hot alpha bodyguard, but let's be honest it's gonna take more than just a great sypnosis and a great cover for me to give a book a five star review.

I've never before had the pleasure of reading nothing by Ada Frost. My favorite author (aka Linda) told me Ada might need a beta and I beta read this. And OMG. Now. I. Need. To. Read all of her books.
I loved Ada's writing and this story and Ryan. Wow. I told her I claimed him as mine. And I'm doing that.

Hi! What to say about myself...I love to read, and create stories for others to enjoy. I've always been told I have a vivid imagination, I just lacked the confidence to pursue putting it onto the written page. But finally I embarked on making a single dream come true.
