Review to come!

Update 7/30/16:

I have had a great love for the What Is series since it first debuted, and while this book wasn't my favorite, it was still a great addition to the series. Although there was a departure with the title in regards to following the "What Is" theme, just like the others in this series, The Fairest Poison can be read as a standalone. It technically is a continuation of the story in some aspects, and I would highly recommen

I really liked the first book in this series. I was not as impressed with the second and third books. It felt like they went down hill for me. I do plan on reading her next book to see where she goes next.

This book is out in the world now and it's a miracle. I'm going to miss these guys.

This was not my favorite of the series. I liked it fine, but if I read this one first, I would not have read any more of the series. I still love the world of Venesia and the whole mask society. That has been my favorite part. I just had a hard time seeing Joch as a redemptive character and how easily Aiden's fiance accepted him. If the guy who murdered my father was anywhere near me, I don't think I could be that composed. And I also had a hard time believing Joch was the only character *clears ...more

A fun retelling of Snow White. This is the third book in the What Is Hidden series. I loved the first book, really liked the second book, and liked this book. I guess the problem was that the romance seemed somewhat rushed and the villains seemed a little obvious. I wished it had been a little longer and more fleshed out. It was a quick enjoyable read though and I will definitely read more by this author.

Fast read that was honestly too fast. I didn’t feel like there was much to this story, everything went by in a blur. And that ending wasn’t much fun either. The other two books were better

Upon seeing the cover for The Fairest Poison, I was confused as to whether or not it was a continuation in the Hidden Series, especially since it didn't follow the "What is" title theme. It definitely is, following Princess Bianca that was briefly mention in book one and introduced in book two. If you read my interview with Lauren Skidmore, you will find out that the publisher was intending to market The Fairest Poison as a standalone, therefore making the title and cover different from the rest ...more

Like the two before it, I found this to be a very enjoyable read and interesting retelling of the Snow White story. I particularly enjoyed watching Aiden freak out and go into over-protective mode of his sister! He really does love her, even if he's a bit stubborn and over-the-top at times. I like Bianca, but I do think she is being too forgiving of Joch considering everything he's done. This is the one thing that kept me from giving this a full 5 stars. While I have no problem with former villa ...more

I'm so glad I finally got to read this after all my delays in getting it. It was great to see the couple from the first book back, but to see them through a different narrator's eyes. The element with Joch was interesting and unexpected. I wouldn't have thought it would work too well, but by the end I was totally rooting for him to have his happy ending. I didn't want to put it down so I could figure out who was behind all the poisoning. I did guess who it was, but not too much before the charac ...more

This was a good book, but I was disappointed at the length of it compared to the first two books, especially for the price I paid for the paper back book. The font, spacing and margins were huge making the 209 page book seem like a book for 3rd graders. I liked the story, I was just disappointed that it was such a short read. I hope there will be a 4th book.
