Are second chances possible in a world plagued with devastating loss, difficult obstacles and everyday commitments?

Having a very genuine understanding of death and grief, Ireland O’Brien has been able to put aside her anger and move forward with a career of helping orphaned children – making their lives better, even though she’s kept her own pain deeply buried within her heart.

Architectural engineer J. Bentley Roberts has also experienced his fair share of heartache. Nearly two decades ago, he suffered the loss of his role model and high school sweetheart in the same tragic accident. And, more recently, Bentley said goodbye to his marriage – leaving him to not only dust himself off, but also to help pick up his teenage son in the unsettling process.

As both of their best friends get ready to say their “I dos,” Ireland and Bentley find themselves together again after twenty years apart.

Will they be able to fight their past demons to finally find the love that’s always entwined them?

4.0 "SHAMROCK AND HOPELESS ROMANTIC" STARS!!!

"Shamrock, here's to reconnecting, second chances, and never having to say goodbye."

Love Entwined is one of those stories that will be etched forever in my heart and mind. In fact up until now I could not forget how Bentley and Ireland met, how they were separated by fate, reconnected and then to that blossoming love that was just soooo damn sweet I feel like I was over the moon just thinking about it. The story was fast p[aced, light hearted and an easy read with a little angst but definitely full of enjoyable moments. From the blurb that caught my attention to the plot that screams SECOND CHANCES OF LOVE AND BEST FRIENDS TO LOVERS story, what more could I ask for? Added up with that PROLOGUE that started so sweet and ended with a scene that made me pause and wanted to scream NO, and I was such a goner.

Yes I was hooked right there and then and I really could not put the book down. I keep on telling myself that just one more chapter but fuck if I can stop myself from turning the pages. There's just this pull that was so damn strong and that urge to finally know what will happen next that made me keep going with the book. And to tell you, it's because the story aside from interesting is so damn enjoyable and made you want to go back in time and have your own best friend too. Of course minus that so long of a year of separation without contact because eff me, I can't take it!! But where's the fun in that right?

Moving on, reading Bentley and Ireland story is just so sweet. From their childhood days that made me smile crazily to their childhood memories and moments that was just so adorable and then to reconnecting and second chances. Wow!!! Just Wow!! because I do not know what to feel. It was mixed emotions. I devoured lines after lines and without a doubt I LOVE THIS BOOK!
It so was so touching. It was just everything. The love they have for each other is just so strong despite loss, despite those years, despite everything that went through. And oh please, I cannot forget that dress up game.... *hint *hint.. Ahhhh.. just adorable and cute. I could definitely tell you more but trust me it's better be read without me giving you any additional hints and spoilers.

This is a must read. Enjoy and feel a beautiful story of love!

My first M.C. Decker book, but for sure not my last. I loved Bentley and Ireland's story. Their intense connection and heartbreaking past that leaked into the present kept me glued to the pages. I love second chance stories and this book didn't disappoint!

I received the ARC of this lovely second chance romance in exchange for an honest review and I'm very glad I requested it :) my review won't be very long, mainly cause the book itself is not long as well, and I don't want to spoil you anything... and things are moving pretty quickly, I'll tell you that ;) actually, it's the only complaint I have about it... that it was too short, and therefore some things happened faster than I would want... ;) but it's more of a personal preference ;) I would love to read more about how they got together... ;) and since we're on this subject, let me tell you more about our main characters :)

Ireland and Bentley actually met as kids... :) they became fast friends and then a lovely couple few years later... until a tragedy pulled them apart... after that, Ireland is taken away into the foster system and loses contact with him... it takes almost twenty years for them to reconnect... in an absolutely adorable coincidence, her best friend and his friend and business partner are getting married ;) so they meet again after all those years at their wedding and very quickly after that first meeting all the feelings are rekindled ;) like I said before, I felt that it was a pretty big fire in a very little amount of time... ;) but on the other hand, I can't really judge them... those feelings you have for your first love... especially if it ends abruptly... once you reconnect can resurface surprisingly quickly... ;) and to be honest there were moments when I really enjoyed watching how happy they were together :) they are both in their mid-thirties and it's actually adorable how much younger they feel and act when together ;)

Besides them, we have secondary characters as well, and I could probably go on and name a few of them, but they all pale in comparison with my favourite part of the book... ;) and that was... Katie :) she's Ireland best friend and I wanted to pull her out of this book soooo bad ;) I would absolutely love to have a bestie like her :) she was supportive and hilarious and just so much fun to read about :) I'm not gonna tell you more about her, but I am totally starting a movement, so she would get her own book... or at least a novella ;) it can be about her and her husband or pretty much anything... I'm gonna take whatever I can get ;)

Even though some things were moving a bit too quickly for my taste, I really enjoyed this story :) it's a second chance romance with a very surprising and unexpected twist... don't worry, I'm not gonna tell you what it's about, even though you can find it in the prologue... that pretty much broke my heart... but worry not, I wouldn't recommend you this book if it ended in tears, now would I? ;) the absolutely adorable epilogue is probably my favourite part of this book, you know... besides the awesomeness that is Katie of course ;) most of the book is told from Ireland's point of view, with a few chapters from Bentley's ;) the writing style of another brand new author to me, definitely made me curious about her other work, so that's another few books to be add to my #BookMountain ;) so if you are looking for a story that will make you laugh and tear up, with a beautiful ending and a great writing style... definitely give this lovely gem a try :)

XOXO

Beth's Review 3.5 STARS

I am a lover of second chance romances, especially the ones where it’s a second chance later in life for what once was a young love. Ireland and Bentley first met when they were the flower girl and ring bearer in a family wedding at the age of 10 and 12. They soon became best friends that as they got older and became teenagers, it grew into much more. But one fateful tragic event changed both their paths and that love ended. Now 20 years later as their best friends, Katie and Greg are getting married, they find themselves face to face as maid of honor and best man. Ireland, after losing everything and everyone she had, closed herself off, never letting anyone but her best friend get close and is barely living life. Bentley is recently divorced with a son but is determined to show Ireland he never stopped loving her even after all these years.

Ireland was such a great strong character. Ireland childhood had a tragedy no child should ever be faced with, but was very lucky when her best friend’s parents took her in. I loved that she took what had happened to her and turned it into something good by becoming councilor helping those that are in the same type of situation. Bentley, what can I say, but OMG so sweet and romantic but yet so very hot. I loved that even after 20 years he had never stopped loving her or thinking about her, that he picked up right where they had left off. I loved how determined he was to win Irelands heart again and break down her walls.

This was a really enjoyable story told mainly in Ireland’s POV with a few chapters told in Bentley’s. I have to say I was glad we got some of the story in Bentley’s POV as those parts really added to the story to see parts from his perspective. Also at times throughout the story we got flashbacks to the past or to other recent events that had happened and the transition was well done. This story really started off really great for me, pulling me in instantly but as the story progressed, I found that it began to fall flat in spots for me. Even though Ireland and Bentley were already in love and it abruptly ended due to the tragic event and circumstances that happened, but it’s been 20 years and I found that first week or so they were back together things moved a little too much too fast giving it a bit of a “insta-love” feel for me. This was definitely a quick read and I found that in spots it moved really fast with the numerous time jumps that occurred. Personally would have loved to see more from the story and maybe not so many as well as big time jumps happen. It left the story feeling rushed for me.

Overall this was an enjoyable sweet read that although was predictable at times did have some good angst and twists added in to it. I really loved both Ireland and Bentley’s characters and the dynamic she built between them. This may have been my first book to read by this author but will definitely be checking out more of her books.

Love Entwined is a true second chance romance, you might even say Bentley and Ireland get a third chance at love.

Life hasn't been easy for Ireland, but when Bentley shows back up in her life unexpectedly it seems things might just be changing for the better. The love these 2 shared as children hasn't diminished, even with all the years that separated them. If anything the time apart has just cemented their feelings for each other. But sadly, for these 2 it seems things will never be easy. Their love is hard fought which just makes it all that more special.

Another Second Chance romance from MC Decker. So good.
Ireland's best friend is getting married. She doesn't really believe in love because she has lost everyone in her life at a young age. But her best friend Katie brought her into her family. At Katie's wedding Ireland sees her first love, the man she never forgot Bentley. He never forgot her but after she left he tried to move on. Now as a single dad he is doing all he can to win Ireland's heart and get her to open up to him. Very touching full of emotions and twists. And one heck of an amazing Epilogue- LOVED IT!

Love Entwined is a story of a second chance for Ireland O’Brien and James Bentley Roberts. Ireland and Bentley meet at a wedding when they are children. Bentley is the ring bearer and Ireland is the flower girl. At an age where boys had cooties and girls were stupid Ireland decides to befriend Bentley. He was so wrapped up in his Gameboy that their first encounter was less than stellar but they grew to be best friends. As time went by that friendship turned into more. Then tragedy hits Ireland and she loses everything. Overcoming those loses hasn’t been easy even with the help of her bff, Katie, who is like a sister to her. Even twenty years later she still has that pain buried inside while building her career to help orphaned children transition easier than she did.
James also understands heartache, first with losing his uncle, that is his role model and high school sweetheart as a result of a tragic accident and now twenty years later his marriage has fallen apart. Sure he has his successful architectural career and business with his best friend Greg. He is struggling with raising his teenage son who isn’t dealing well with the divorce and blames his dad for it.
After being apart for twenty years but never forgetting the other, Ireland and Bentley find themselves once again meeting at a wedding they are both a part of. This time as maid of honor and best man. Memories come crashing back for Ireland and all the pain of the loss she has experienced, is she ready to fight those demons and move on?
I found myself not being able to put this book down and staying up way later than I should to finish. It was great the way the author transitioned from past to present to tell this story of Ireland and Bentley. I could laugh along with them as kids, teenagers and adults as well as feel the pain and tears. While the story is told mostly in Ireland’s point of view I really enjoyed when we heard from Bentley. I wish there would have been more of his point of view. Katie and Greg were great supporting characters that really enhanced the story. Not only is this book about a second chance love story, the author writes of loss and divorce along with the unexpected twists that she is known for doing in her books.
I debated on what to rate this book as it a five star read in that I couldn't put it down and I felt as if I was a part of the story but there is a part in the story that I felt wasn't developed enough and I was left with some unanswered questions.
I am happy to say that it was great that the story does not end in a cliffhanger but I do see another book with characters from this book in the future.

Love Entwined by M.C. Decker was my first book by this author. This is a story about second chances after so much pain and loss and overcoming hurdles thrown in their path.

But first, that prologue! That prologue grabbed me immediately. Talk about diving right in!

Years ago Ireland and Bentley (Jamie) had grown up together the best of friends that eventually transitioned to young love. Then a terrible accident changed the course of their lives and each went down very different paths.

But sometimes love just finds a way.

Almost two decades later, Ireland and Bentley meet again as their best friends say their “I dos”. After so much time apart, it is as if no time has passed. They quickly reconnect and move forward.

This story is told in two parts, three really, the prologue, before and after. Once the author throws you that curveball at the start, we go back and see how Ireland and Betley reconnected. I must admit I found this part to be a little rushed, even with their history, but Bentley’s swoon-factor helped to make up for that. He was so sweet and loving. He understood the fears that drove Ireland and did all he could to reassure her.

The beginning of the after just about killed me. Where the beginning was a fast paced, this felt so heartbreaking. I understood the choices each made, but it was so hard to see them go through it. Though I believe what happened helped each character grow, it was at such a big cost.

Ireland had so much loss at such an early age, she found it so much easier to not commit. Her motto was to always be the first to walk away and to never commit. She was afraid to live life, afraid to lose anything she cared about. Though some would consider this a weakness, I saw this more as a way to protect her heart. Though she was cautious about opening up, it was sweet how Bentley reassured her and showed her he cared. Then life throws her a twist that may just finally break her. How much is she willing to risk?

I loved Bentley in the before. He was sweet, romantic and so swoon-worthy. He knew what he wanted and went after it. I found him charming and sweet. Then after the twist, I can understand his decisions, it was still heartbreaking. Then once things change for him, he is hit with unexpected news he does not know how to handle. Can he leave the past behind and trust again?

I also loved Katie, Ireland’s best friend. Their friendship was an unbreakable bond, but at times, their interactions had me in stiches.

This was a great, quick read with just a touch of angst. I would definitely check out other work by this author.

I give Love Entwined by M.C. Decker 3.5 stars.

***ARC PROVIDED BY AUTHOR FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***

Whenever you come across a new author you always start the book with a little trepidation but that was unwarranted as I thoroughly enjoyed this book. ‘Love Entwined’ by M.C. Decker is a great second chance romance that I give 4 stars to and I have to admit that I really love a good second chance novel.

Ireland and Bentley are childhood friends that are torn apart by tragedy and have no way to connect. Twenty years pass and they are brought back together as their best friends marry one another. They are shocked to come face to face after such a long time but they are both even more surprised to find that they still have the chemistry and connection that was there when they were teenagers.

It is sweet to read how close Ireland and Bentley were as they grew up and how close they once were but in equal measures it is also sad to see what tore them apart. Not letting things go this time round Bentley is determined to not only keep Ireland in his life but to make her his. Ireland has lost everyone she has loved throughout her life so she is understandably hesitant to open up to the prospect of Bentley being in her life again.

Things appear to be going amazingly well and then another tragic event happens throwing Ireland’s live upside down again and causing her more heartache. I didn’t see the tragic event coming and was a bit shattered for Ireland when it did happen.

This book was told primarily in Ireland’s point of view and there are only a few chapters told from Bentley’s perspective. You get to understand why Ireland was hesitant but you can see that as soon as they are reunited that they are meant to be together. It’s true that things move fast and love declarations are made quickly but it is kind of understandable when you take into account the past they’ve had together and apart.

The writing throughout flows very easily and you get caught up in the story before you realise the time that has slipped by. As I’ve said I love a good second chance romance and this is another to add to my list of recommendations for friends and readers alike. This a sweet read with that will pluck at your heartstrings.

I have to say I really enjoyed reading something a little different from M.C. Decker. While Love Entwined didn't have the heart stopping angst that her earlier books did but this one captivated me just the same. It was the sweetness and the underlying sense of calm and rightness that I felt whenever Bentley and Ireland were together.

That isn't to say that these two didn't have their struggles or ups and downs because they sure did. I mean it took them decades to stumble back into each others lives after a devastating tragedy that shaped them in ways they never thought possible. My heart hurt for them and the pain and suffering they experienced as teenagers. But it also rejoiced and celebrated with them as they found each other and happiness once again in adulthood. I loved the lightness and ease between Bentley and Ireland. Their connection was forged in friendship and the memories from their past helped to build their future.

But it wasn't all laughs and smiles. Fate threw her fickle hand in the mix and put quite the kink in Bentley's plans. What came next could only be described as the perfect storm of "you've got to be kidding me." Ireland was left reeling, trying to get her heart and head sorted out and focused on the future. But she just couldn't let go of the hope that her and Bentley's true love would get another shot to get it right.

This book was just beautiful in its entirety. From the first chapter that left me gasping to the last page that had me sighing in contentment I was there. I felt the joy and fear. The nervousness and hope. The pain and love. I'm pretty sure Love Entwined counts as a third, possibly fourth chance romance. But when it's a love like Ireland and Bentley's it will always find a way.

Ms. Decker doesn't pull any punches with Love Entwined. She lets us know in the prologue that things are not going to go well for Jamie and Ireland.
The story that follows shows us how they reconnected after 20 years apart and gives us hope that the heart always knows what it wants, even when the head gets in the way. It was interesting to read their reconnection and budding romance knowing that this thing from the prologue was hanging over their heads.
For me, the reconnection was interesting, but the real story was in what happened "after." I always liked Ireland and respected how she handled being thrown yet another curveball by life. Jamie/Bently over came her fears once, but circumstances proved (at least to her) that she was right and she did her best in a difficult situation.
I struggled a little with the Jamie/Bently character. I initially adored him. He was sweet and swoon worthy. I even understood a (a little) the way he behaved initially in the "after," but I had a hard time with how long he punished Ireland for making the decision she did. I really felt that given the situation, his knowledge of her history, and his own actions, he was a little hard on her.
Love Entwined is well written and a pretty quick read, there were a couple of places that I would have liked to have seen "more," but that does not mean the story is lacking at all. The characters are all well written and play their roles well.
Ms. Decker is an author that has been sitting on my TBR for a while and I am so glad that I finally dove in - I will definitely be going back to read her other works.

A second chance romance at its best, this is what I would call a typical lovely, romantic love story. Very well written, I found it slightly overly gushy in places but overall I enjoyed the story. The characters were well developed and easily likeable which added to the essence of the story.
Through a terrible tragedy when younger, Ireland O'Brien has experienced devastating heartache and loss and by some kind of fate she meets up with the boy, now a man - James Bentley Roberts, who once took care of her and was her best friend, her soul mate. Separated by no fault of their own; their lives have moved in different directions, and then by some uncanny chance of fate, they meet up again after twenty years apart. Bentley has been through a tough time himself and when he meets Ireland again he is in the middle of his marriage falling apart. He realises very quickly that the attraction he felt for Ireland is still very much alive and he sets about wooing her all over again. They both have demons to confront and a past to learn to forget, but will they survive the second time round; will Ireland be prepared to open up her heart to him once again, or will the pain from the past rear its ugly head to invade the future that they could have ?
This story will keep you wondering right until the end. A definite must read for the romantics at heart, a mixture of everything, angst, hope, pain, love despair and lots of hot sex thrown into the pot. Give it a good stir and you get one hell of a story. Not to be missed!!!

Sometimes second chances at love come easy and sometimes they come with a lot of complications but nothing gets more complicated than the man you love losing his memory of you. I really enjoyed reading this book it was a very sweet romance with a twist. This book was good from beginning till the end. The beginning of this story is told in mostly memories but it doesn’t distract from the story at all it just gives you more insight to the characters. Ireland (who name I love) is a very strong character even when it seems the world id against her she rails and holds out hope to find her happiness. Bentley is a loving hero who really holds his own and them together make such a strong duo.
This story gave me all types of feels and all of them good. I read this book straight through there was never doubted that I would not love this story not once. The story of love, lost, second chances, and finding where your heartbeat is so touching. I loved how all the characters intermingled but never overshadowed the main characters at all.
This story will make you want more and more. I can say so many great things about this story but the best thing I can say is read it . There will be no disappointment with this book. The characters, the story itself .M.C.Decker has gain a new fan in me .

** NEW REVIEW **

I found M.C. Decker a while back when she had her first book on Kindle Unlimited.. I had never heard of her until that point (this is when I was first getting into reading indie authors). I picked up Unwritten and I devoured it and that is how the story starts! I have since followed her work and have loved each and every piece she has written.

Love Entwined is her newest release and it is the story of Ireland and Bentley, friends that have found each other once again. Ireland seem to be hesitant to pick up where they left off many years ago and its a flawless transition back to what they used to be only now there is more baggage that follows them than there was before.

I loved this story and am a huge fan of love that was lost and then found again so this was perfect. MC was able to make me laugh and cry in the same book, the angst was enough to keep me wanting more but in the end it was all wrapped up nicely (whether it was a pretty package or not I will not say). It was a perfect stand alone book! Bentley was sooo swoon worthy it was ridiculous and Ireland was his perfect match.

I feel that this was MC’s best work to date and am excited to see where the future takes her.

5 Stars!!

Love Entwined was the first book I’ve read by M.C. Decker. It was a mixture of sweet and sadness rolled into one experience.

Bentley and Ireland were childhood friends and sweethearts until a tragedy made Ireland an orphan and took her away from the town and family she loved. Two decades later their paths crossed again.

The story began at the present with a POV from Bentley then shifted to a POV from Ireland for the core of the story with flashbacks between a childhood past and a recent past until the worlds merged back into the present. At that point, which was also nearing the end of the book, we began receiving dual POV’s.

It was well written, well developed and packed with a few twists. Although I loved the characters, I didn’t feel as connected to them as I desired. I wanted to feel more between them. In the end, it was enjoyable as Decker took us on an emotional roller coaster. It was a journey of heartbreak, tragedy, hope, restoration and love. And if that wasn’t enough for a successful story, as a bonus, Decker provided an epilogue twenty years in the future. There were plenty of offspring for future books, so there’s no telling where Decker will take us next.

Second chance romance and best friends to lovers. Need I say more? That's 2 of my favorite genres!!! This book started off with a bang! In fact I messaged MC and I'm pretty sure my comment was a lot like this, "Damn girl, you know how to start a book off with a bang!" There was no way I was putting this book down! As the story continues we learn about Bentley and Ireland as children along with the journey they are taking as adults. The story continues so beautifully until something happens that throws both Bentley and Ireland into a whirlwind! With a love like Ireland and Bentleys I was sure there couldn't be anything but a happy ending but I was in for a rough road! I absolutely loved this book, even though love really isn't the most accurate word to use! There has to be something stronger!! So here's the big question, can love conquer all? Even when there are unforeseen circumstances? Guess you'll have to one click ASAP to figure it out! You won't regret it!!!

Five Beautiful Second Chance Stars! Ireland has a past filled with heartbreak and loss when she meets James again, her soulmate, after twenty years. James realizes the attraction is still there after all that time and starts to pursue Ireland again. Can they over come their demons and start fresh to have a relationship? This is a beautiful second chance novel filled with love, hope, angst, pain, and of course sex. Ms. Decker writes a well written story that is filled with page turning twists that will have you not wanting to put the book down. I fell in love with James and Ireland, they had great chemistry together! This is a story that you don't want to miss out on, highly recommend on!

Love Entwined was a cute read that was about second chance love. The story tells the story of two people that fell in love as teenagers and was separated, only to reunite as adults. The story focuses on the characters Ireland and Bentley seeing each other for the first time in 20 years. The story does have flashbacks of when the two characters were young. The writer was able to write these flashbacks into the story in a way that worked well.I enjoyed both of the main characters in the book. Ireland was a sweet and caring person that has a hard time letting people in. Bentley is a hot, charismatic and caring guy that will make you fall for him as soon as you meet him. Both characters have a strong chemistry between them. This was a fun book to read and it was great being able to read about two people finding love with each other again.

Sometimes the third time is a charm!
Fate works is strange ways. Sometimes it leads us right where we need to be and sometimes it drops us on our butt.
Ireland and Bentley have not had an easy go of things. Life pulled them apart and then life brought them back together just when the time was right. Then tore them apart again.
A second chance kind of love. Rebuilding, starting over and figuring out who we need to be. Mild angst, sweet love, and an overall good story. Great writing and very sweet.
Ireland is a tad fickle and Bentley a little immature but overall the story works. There were just a few rough edges. Present to past to present. Sometimes you will be angry, and sometimes you will have a goofy grin. A pretty good read.

Who doesn't love a good second chance romance? That's exactly what Love Entwined is.

Ireland (I LOVE her name!) and Bentley (I LOVE his name too!) are former childhood friends who run into each other because their mutual friends are getting married.

I loved reading their relationship as they were younger and how it seems to have picked up to the present even though there's 20 years in between.

The heartbreak they each go through is just so sad but then other events make it such an amazing story! This will definitely be a book I re-read!

Ohh, this book!! It was such a sweet, sensual, scary, must read story!! Gah. I didn't want it to end. MC Decker has a writing style that pulls you under before you can even acknowledge it. Her words flow to a beautiful rhythm that I could sit and read for hours and hours. Ireland and Bentley have a story that is such heartwarming and heart breaking, the conquer what needs to be, and they soar with love. You do NOT want to miss this one!

Ireland and Bentley are childhood best friends turned first love. They believe they are each other's forever until tragedy strikes. Twenty years later fate intervenes and they meet again. Their love runs bone deep, but once again life's unexpected accidents get in the way. Can true love conquer all?

A must read second chance romance!

As shown on Books and Boys Book Blog.
