I love books about the mob. I love the Sopranos. I love Good Fellas, The Departed and Casino. Why do I like these? Because they portray a culture that is foreign to me and although they are all bad guys, some times we actually root for them.

But this book does not go into the 'mob life', it is more about the trials that 'the Weasel' testified at and his life in witness protection. I found the book extremely boring. I do not blame the author because he did his job, I blame the subject matter.

There may be attorneys out there that like this book, but for me, it was just boring. One thumb up for good writing, one thumb down for subject matter.

Of all the books we’ve read to date, this one has really highlighted just how easily the feds can flip a criminal. It further demonstrates just how little you know about the person right next-door to you! And finally, it shows just how easily a criminal can manipulate our government just by dangling a tiny little parent in front of them like a donkey pulling a cart!

This book was pretty good. Ovid Demaris's The Last Mafioso is probably a better read on Fratianno but this read is a heavy focus on The Weasel and his work in the courtroom as a witness for the Government.

More informative than action packed. Decent picture of the Witness Protection Program back then.

Solid 3 stars.
