The Cindy York series was recommended to me, by my friends. I decided to read the series. This is The first book in the series. Cindy is a mature woman working to add income for the family. She has been married for 18 years to a man and they have a loving relationship. They have the 14-year-old daughter and twin sons who are 8 years and full of mischief.

Sadly, the elderly Mrs. Hunter suffers from dementia and had been sweet-talked into signing a contract with Cindy's rival broker Tiffany Roberts at Hospitable Homes real estate agency. What a great start to a new series! I loved this book from the first chapter. It was so much fun to read. The characters are so real to today's lifestyle. You have Cindy York, wife, mom, realtor, and friend trying to do it all. Beside her is her wonderful and supportive husband Greg who always wants to protect Cindy. They are really going through a tough time financially and she is having the worst luck at Hospitable Homes. She has a manager who doesn't like her, Donna and a co worker, Tiffany w ...more

Killer Transaction, a Cindy York mystery could have been excellent. Instead it was flat. I felt no connection to the characters, and the lead character of busy, working mum-of-three Cindy York annoyed the life out of me. She was a rug. Every single character except her husband walked all over here. The generic secondary characters of her boss and the evil but 'beautiful' colleague, the brat of a daughter, the god awful Mother-in-law. I've got to say, if you're expecting someone to read almost 20 ...more

Killer Transactions is a delightful whodunit that got my attention on the first page and held it until the end. It is a well-written cozy mystery and, as such, contains no graphic violence or adult situations. Catherine Bruns has created an intriguing storyline and realistic, well-developed characters. While some of the characters are not likeable, all of them are believable. This book is well thought out and written with just the right combination of mystery, family life, and humor. I’m looking ...more

“Killer Transaction” earns 5/5 Cozy Commissions…Murderously Fun!

I am a big fan of Catherine Bruns who skillfully wields “Karma,” and in “Killer Transaction,” the first book in her Cindy York Mystery series, she has given karma a lot from which to choose. Cindy York is a real estate agent who just wants to provide the best service to clients wishing to sell their home and make a fair living for herself and her children. However, a demanding boss who owes her coffee and lunch money and a “scruples
How do you deal with a good husband, a teen daughter, twin preteen boys, a lousy job selling real estate, nutz potential customers, a clueless boss, and a fellow agent who has all the morals of a racoon. And to top it off the one with the racoon morals gets murdered and Cindy finds the body and rises to the top of the suspect list! The plot is solid, the plot twists and red herrings diabolical, the characters certainly are, and the humor is contagious. Loved it!

This book has some fantastically strongly written characters. I bought this book because of the blurb revolving around the mother-in-law's comments to her daughter-in-law, Cindy, after she finds the body of her co-worker and is interviewed by the police. The characterization and dialogue were so engaging that I immediately disliked the mother-in-law so much, I had to read the book and find out what happened. It was an entertaining adventure that didn't let go for a second. I like how the backgro ...more

This is a fun and light cozy mystery that begins a new series, Cindy York Mysteries. In it, Cindy finds a co-worker's body shortly after she was murdered. Almost before she knows it, Cindy is being accosted by strangers and accused of being a murderer. Bit by bit, things continue to get worse until she decides the only way to get out of trouble is to find the real murderer.

I enjoyed this book and, had partial stars been an option, would have given it 4.5 stars. It started a bit slowly for me, b

Killer Transactions is a great first book of the new Cindy York Mysteries.

This book grabs your attention at the beginning and holds you through the very end. Cindy York is juggling a normal life as a wife, mom and as a real estate agent and as if that isn't enough she finds herself in the middle of a murder mystery and as a prime suspect. You will be kept guessing until the end.

Catherine Bruns brings this well written story to life. The characters are well developed, realistic and believable. Y

I was given an ARC by the publisher and WOW, what an excellent mystery!!! Absolutely loved every page of this story & sometimes laughed out loud at the antics/banter of the characters. This author is definitely gifted and does such a great job blending this tale that I just could not put it down. 100% recommend to anyone who loves a mystery that can hold your attention without having to be a serial killer story. :)

Happily married and sadly broke, Cindy York is a real estate agent. When her boss asks her to show some homes to her husband, Cindy thinks there is something odd going on but the need for a sale outweighs her concerns. Next thing you know Cindy discovers a dead body and is being accused of murder. This story slowly pulls you in until it is nearly impossible to put it down because you need to know how it is going to end. I will be watching for the next Cindy York mystery.

I received this book for free. I voluntarily left this review and all opinions expressed herein are my own.

This is the first book in the Cindy York series. Cindy is a realtor who has been married for 18 years and has three children. She works to make extra income for her family. She works at a realty where the most successful realtor, Tiffany, steals her deal. Cindy has had enough and she needed that income so she calls Tiffany and leaves a nasty message. Sure enough, Cindy then finds Tiffany mu

But her listings don't bring in much money, especially when a co-worker named Tiffany has a nifty way of stealing her clients. Great series and great author. Everyone has a bad day from time to time, but Cindy is having a bad day that should be used as the example of bad days. Cindy is a real estate agent and just finished an open house as a favor to her co-worker, Tiffany. Tiffany asks to meet later at the office to go over the client list. Upon arriving at the office, Cindy finds Tiffany dead on the floor of her office with multiple bullets in her. Cindy has a slight problem with stress - she tends to faint. Upon awak ...more

This was a really fun cozy mystery style book. It's the story of a married woman named Cindy, who's a real estate agent that ends up implicated in the murder of a much despised co-worker/agent. The murdered agent Tiffany, had stolen listings and sales from the agents she worked with and agents throughout the area. Tiffany's bad reputation also went on to lying to customers and manipulation to get the sale. So why are the cops focusing on Cindy... Oh yeah, maybe it has something to do with her de ...more

I listened to the audiobook version of this book.
The author dies a great job writing this fast paced cozy realestate mystery. I listened nonstop because I loved all the character personalities so much that I just couldn't turn it off. It is a witty and charming story that has some really great underlying life lessons. Cindy has some hilarious interaction as an accused murderer and it's a pleasure to unravel this mystery of who did it.

I listen to audio books while I'm driving and cleaning house. This murder mystery was an entertaining diversion that made the miles and the housework slip by as I listened. Cindy York juggles her family and real estate job with humor and aplomb--until the day she finds a dead body in her office. Cindy’s previous business dispute with the deceased makes her the prime suspect. Matters get worse until, step-by-step, the murder is solved in a resourceful way. This is the first in a series new to me but won't be the last. This was a fun book. Cindy York is a struggling real estate agent. She has a loving husband and two great kids. She finds herself involved in a murder among other things. This book was narrated by Amy Deuchler and Amy does a wonderful job of bringing this story to life. I was gifted this book with the understanding that I would leave an honest review.

Another cosy mystery. Cindy York is a real estate who just had her listing stolen. She threatens her colleague on her voicemail, Tiffany for being deceitful. When she plans to meet up with her at the office, she finds her dead. Due to the threat, Cindy is now the suspect for her murder. A quick read.

Exactly what I needed after a lot of depressing non-fiction.
The narration was delightful, and at times I could talk along with it - sometimes cozy mysteries can be a bit predictable, but that’s part of the fun.
There was a hysterical scene in a classroom of third graders.
