If you like running you’ll like this book. Here are 50 of the world’s best marathons - from the Australian Outback Marathon (Wow - just imagine the scenery!) to the North Pole Marathon (average temp whilst running it -minus 25C/13F).
It’s a great coffee table book and has some interesting facts about each marathon such as difficulty ratings & no of participants. As much as I love running I just couldn’t ever do a marathon, so I take my hat off to all those super fit and incredible people across the globe who’ve completed one. I’ve managed 2 half marathons but there is no way in the world I could run that distance twice!
And coincidentally yesterday I submitted my application for the Great North Run (half marathon) for the third time - maybe this book inspired me....
This was such a fascinating book! I don’t run, but it was so interesting to learn about all of the marathons that are offered around the world. I enjoyed the details of the culture at the marathons and things to do afterwards
