Jack Hamilton is in charge of running the family amusement park, Starlight Point, after the sudden death of his father. He also learns that the park is in debt, a fact his father kept hidden from the family. In order to keep the park on its feet, Jack must cut jobs and raise the rent of the lease-vendors for the season. This doesn't go over well with the vendors, especially pretty new vendor Augusta "Gus" Murphy who is leasing three locations in the park for her bakeries. The vendors think Jack ...more

Under the Boardwalk (Starlight Point Stories) by Amie Denman is the story of Jack Hamilton and Augusta "Gus" Murphy. Jack Hamilton is a very complex man. "Denman brings the drama with her new Starlight Point Stories, and the series opens with a battle for money and love. Banter blended with chemistry and stubborness makes Under the Boardwalk a delight to read" (RT Book Reviews, 4 stars).

Couldn't put it down! From page 1, I had to know how Gus and Jack were going to make it through their roller coaster love affair and save Starlight Point! Another great book from Amie Denman. Can't wait for the next in this series! ...more

Jack, newly in charge of his family’s amusement park isn’t exactly making friends when he raises the rates on vendors, something that’s particularly problematic given how much he’d like to be more than friends with baker, Augusta.

Even though Jack and Gus disagree over business, their relationship still always had an undercurrent of kindness and “I like you” this wasn’t a non-stop bickering sort of romance, there’s support and respect, and cuteness, too, in the way his sweet tooth is a perfect c

I received this book in a Goodreads First Reads giveaway.
Under the Boardwalk was an easy read, good for the beach or a plane ride. It features Augusta "Gus" Murphy, who has just gone deeply into debt to expand her bakery business into Starlight Point, a beloved amusement park and summer destination. Jack Hamilton has just inherited Starlight Point, the family business, upon the sudden death of his father. Unknown to Jack and his family, his father has been hiding the fact that the business is in

This is a quick, sweet read. There was nothing that stood out that made it spectacular or anything that made it bad. Just an easy read. Jack was a little annoying, but his intentions were in the right place. All in all, I liked it.

Under the Boardwalk was an enjoyable read. The amusement park setting was a perfect summertime theme, and I continually envisioned the carousel ride, the thundering roar of the roller coasters, the overhead cable cars, and the whimsical music playing all around. Here's a little about the story...

Starlight Point amusement park owner Ford Hamilton has died, and his son, Jack Hamilton, has taken over as principal operator of the park.  He was the most practical choice among the siblings as he has b

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. This is a honest review of this book. I was exasperated at the time for this book to get to the point of why it was written. This book was slow going. It really deserved 2.5 stars in my opinion, I wished I could have given it that.
