Recommends it for: History buffs
Brilliant book. Obviously not a young adult novel, and should not be treated as one. It dealt with a tragedy in a refreshing way, and the research was insightful and correct. The characters are well-rounded and have depth. This is a slow burn, but, if you are dedicated to Titanic's story, it isn't one you should discard. Absolutely horrifying that I found this in a middle/high-school library at 14. I loved the story of the Titanic, but I had no idea what I was getting into. I had to put it down after some unnecessary and detailed sexual situations. Very disturbing and upsetting. Glad I put it down.
