Okay so this is the second book by Tawdra Kandle that I have read. There where things about it I liked and some that I didn't. I had a really hard time rating this book. While I really liked Mrs. Kandle's writing style, almost all of the characters, the town the book is set in, the plot concept, I didn't like the heroine Maureen. I di

I have to say I am quite disappointed. I absolutely love those friends to lovers novels and I might have too high expectations after I read the blurb. Maureen Evans and Smith Harrington had been best friends since a long time, and also secretly in love with each other. After seeing each other be with someone else, without caring about the spark, both Maureen and Smith were sure there's no hope for more than friendship between them, since they thought the o

Kandle is a new author to me and while I liked this book I didn't fall completely in love with it but this series has promise.

This is the first story in this series and we meet Maureen and Smith. The story starts off with them meeting and becoming good friends in college and Maureen is basically in love with him.

Then the story jumps to years later. Maureen has bought a house and has a veterinarian practice. She asks Smith to rent the top floor of her house and ask him to be a partner in the cl

It seems my luck in blindly choosing a random book to read when I have time to read something besides my blog assignments is getting worse by the minute.
Most probably totally nothing is wrong with this book because obviously a lot of people read it and felt good about it. And it seems that I have been repeating myself when saying “am I the odd one out here”.
But this story was just too sweet for me to nice to polished – so please if you like sweet romances go ahead you will probably love it but

I love a good friends into lovers book. Most romance fans do, I feel like. Which must be why I requested this from NetGalley so long ago to review, since it fit into a romance category I’m fond of, and enjoy.

This book is a huge cluster. I don’t know how to put it nicer, or differently. I had a long, drawn out review, but the main point is to say that the characters don’t even seem to know each other, themselves, or their motivations. For a roman

SO SWEET.................

Such a great and sweet cute story , It was very quick read and definitely not cheesy

The romance between Maureen and Smith was very lovely to watch. Their relationship was built on a solid and beautiful friendship. The attraction and sexual energy between them sparkle and I loved it. I had so much fun seeing Maureen's and smith's struggles they each had with their feeling

My first book by author Tawdra Kandle. I'm really glad that i read this book.

After reading the synopsis I was very excited to read this book. I LOVE a good friends to lovers story! However, this book fell flat for me. I thought it was a little cheesy, and found myself skipping paragraphs just to get to the important parts. The heroine felt very weak, and the hero said a few lines that left me cringing rather than swooning. I did finish it, but it was a fairly short. In the end, this just wasn't my cup of tea.

I liked Maureen, she had some good talks with her animal patients, “men.” I petted the dog, who licked my hand. “No offense to you, boy, but human men are the most confusing species out there.” I swore the dog nodded." I really liked this book Smith was a great guy, and Maureen was funny.

Crushes are a lot of work to hide from someone especially if the person becomes your best friend. It becomes a whole lot of energy and that is exactly what happened to both Maureen Evens and Smith Harrington. On their first day at college.
Then it was four years of cat and mouse, cold showers after study groups and being friend zoned so many times you lose count. The thing is Reen is a shy insecure young woman trying to figure out this whole world of dating she watches from afar.

I have been a fan of Tawdra's for ages now though it's been a long time since I've had the opportunity to read any of her work. So, when her newsletter came out and mentioned that this gem was available for free on Amazon, I didn't hesitate to have it sent to my ancient Kindle!

I am so glad that I did. There is something just refreshingly real about her characters. Not to mention that having come from a small town myself, I've seen just the types of things mentioned in this book and i

Sweet love story. These two were friends in college for fours years and went to vet school together. They both had feelings for one another, but both were afraid to act on them thinking the other did not feel the same. It's years later they both are vets and both are single. The perfect couple if only they could see it.

Maureen is tired of waiting for the one she has a home a vet practice, b

I’m trying to decide if I will move on in this series, while I enjoyed Maureen and Smith’s story I am also frustrated with a book that spends 90% of the time building up to the HEA with constant push and pull only to end as soon as they finally pull they’re heads out of their butts! As if that’s not bad enough it has been a definite pattern in every book. It’s like the author finds the formula she likes and then every set of characters follow the same pattern. And now we’re setting up for a char ...more

This is a short book, only less than 250 pages. Events happen fast and convenient. I didn't mind because their story is not shying away from that, even the characters say it. Speaking of dialogue, I noticed that most lines were very very cheesy. In reality, I'm not sure if there are people who talk like that. Other than that, I enjoyed reading the book. Maybe it's because I relate to Maureen and Smith's situation. I'd like to enumerate them but that would mean spoiling the story. I recommend it ...more

Despite the cover looking like a bad photoshop job (which I think it is) the story does do justice. The plot and characters manage to convey themselves although I do not find anything more to make it unique. It is a simple story of missed chances over a decade which finally a managed to wrap itself up in a pretty bow. A perfect book to spend your lazy days reading something that won’t make you end up in a heart wrench XD

What young woman would not have the hots for Smith? Reenie does and in the beginning she has unrequited love for him. The story is interesting and medium paced. A great story line. Reenie and Smith have been friends for some time after they graduate vet school. Then they decide to work together, partnership with each other. So Smith tests her boundaries every change he gets. To Reenie's dismay. This is a great story of second chance at first lust or first chance at love. An excellent read.

A very good book about a second chance. Maureen Evans and Smith Harrington meet ten years ago in college, Smith is now coming to Burton, Georgia to be her partner at the veterinary clinic where she works. Maureen has always wanted more to their relationship but Smith has only ever seen her as one of the guys. I enjoyed the interaction between these two. Lovely

A lovely read about best friends who have denied their feelings for each other for ten years. Smith and Maureen join forces as the towns new vets and get the chance to ponder and explore their relationship.
The town of Burton is small and inviting with adorable friends and family.

This friends to lovers book is a quick, easy read. The main characters Maureen and Smith meet in college and become friends, they both want more but don't admit that to each other, years later they get the chance to renew their friendship and work together. They eventually sort out their feelings but it is a long slow process.

What started out as a friendship turns into romance. Maureen and Smith went to college together, both had feelings for each other but Maureen was oblivious to Smith’s feelings for her. They come together when Maureen offers Smith a partnership in her Vet practice and a room to rent.

Great

Maureen has always felt like the girl left out. But Smith was the boy she met moving into the dorms her freshman year. They stated friends through college & vet school. There has always been a spark but neither told each other. They have a chance now.
