She was not like any other debutante. Scheming and manipulation were foreign to her, not mother's milk. In fact, she was one of the few people he trusted.

So my next read is obviously going to be the first book in this series. I thoroughly enjoyed this highly entertaining regency romp! Vivienne Lorret is a new author to me but The Season's Original series has definitely got a budding fan in the making! I absolutely love the fact that all the titles in the series are a spin-off on well known s

Sissy's Romance Book Review
'This Earl is on Fire' by Vivienne Lorret is book two in the "Season's Original" series.
This is the story of Miss Adeline Pimm and Liam Cavanaugh. I have not yet read the previous book so for me this was a standalone book. Although after enjoying this one I do want to get that previous book called 'The Debutante Is Mine'.
Liam was a playboy, rouge and after being hurt by a women when he was young now also makes him a man trying to avoid marriage. But sometimes you have to be 'knocked over the h

full review to come Rather nice story with a great heroine and a very nice set of supporting friends. Everyone was kind and friendly save for the villain (late appearance), but the hero is so pig-headed that I wanted to smack him a few times. After all the sweet heroine has done, the dude still things she is trying to trap him into marriage!? And even said she doesn't want to marry.... *rolls eyes*

I don't know why these days, it seems that practically every historical romance I lay my greedy hands on gets a 5 stars. Either the weather's too hot, or I'm in an exceptionally good mood - but I think I'm just lucky (fingers crossed, I want more books in that vein).
At first, I thought Adeline was a bit too familiar with a strange man who'd been attacked. She came from the country, OK, but I think even in the country, young misses are not brought up this way. Her family was a bit lax... And I al

So I officially can say that I absolutely loved THIS EARL IS ON FIRE! Liam and Adeline were just the right amount of push and pull to keep my clinging to my kindle! Lorret continues to prove that she is a talented story teller who brings the magic back to historical romance!

Adeline is in London with her family for her first time in society where she wants to experience exciting adventures. The Pimms come to find a bloodied and bruised man in the doorway of their rental for the season, and they t

I barely got through the first couple of chapters of This Earl is on Fire before finally giving up on account of the intolerable leads.

Liam was a first class douche, yet another one of those ‘distrusts ALL women because of ONE woman’s betrayal’. You’d think authors would've grown tired of writing this type of ‘hero’ by now but evidently not and I’ve had the bad luck of encountering a lot of them as of late. Adeline on the other hand was just ridiculous. Between her heart suddenly matching the be

4.5 Stars. It would have been five if it weren't for that 20 or so page moment of stress and dare I say it "hurry the fuck up"-dom.

This book has insta something, but it ain't love. It's like uhm a spark! She sees him and its like well he makes me feel womanly, but its not like omg heart eyes heart eyes I love him! So don't worry.

For this book only to be 276 pages, it moves pretty slowly. The first 100 pages or so were filled with damn they should kiss already feelings. lol but maybe I was just

This Earl is on Fire features a fantastic romance between a woman looking for adventure and the injured earl she finds on her doorstep.

Miss Adeline Pimm has lived a sheltered life as the daughter of a country baron. On her family's first trip to London, Adeline is hoping for an adventure... and she finds it in the form of a bloody, unconscious man on her doorstep. Liam Cavanaugh, the Earl of Wolford, is alarmed when he wakes in an unfamiliar bed with no memory of how he got there or who attacked

Lorret is quickly becoming a new addition to my auto-buy list. Yall, This Earl is on Fire was so much fun!

The quick of it is that Adeline has been sheltered her entire life because of a leg deformity but her family has come up from the country for her to have a proper Season. Adeline though? She's not thought in her mind of marriage but of...adventure. Now, having it land on her doorstep in the form of one very injured--and n

Adeline Pimm was born with a malformation in a leg that caused a limp. Because of that, she's been overprotected by parents (who means well) but lately, she felt the need to be free from this and asked them to not treat her like a weakling anymore. She longs to be like any other young ladies of her age and hope that coming to London to experience her first season will bring adventures. Well, our heroine's wish is about to be answered, because her father discovered a seriously injured man on thei ...more

Vivienne Lorret is a recently discovered author for me, and for the most part, I've loved her books. This one fell a little bit short, and I think it was the kind of simplicity and lack of depth of everything. Given the setup, it's a perfect situation for the hero and heroine to get to know each other very well, but I think this story suffered from the fact that Lorret's books are often a bit shorter than your standard romance novel.

I really liked Liam and I liked Adeline. I also liked

WOOOOOOOOW!!! This book was amazing! Beyond amazing, it was so phenomenal that it left me speechless!

We have Liam, the Earl of Wolfold and the wondrous Adeline Pimm. They bot complimented each other so well and I seriously couldn't from having this goofy smile on my face anytime these two graced the pages. They just had this chemistry and this relationship that was just so endearing and wonderful that I couldn't help but swoon. Yes, SWOON. Loved these two!

I enjoyed his second installment in Vivienne Lorret’s series of the Season’s Original as much as I did the first. It’s sweet and engaging with a jaded hero and the sweet, country miss who shows him that it may be worth it to trust people again.

We met Liam, the Earl of Wolford, in the last book. He came off as a complete wastrel, but we learn here that he crafted that reputation on purpose. Liam is trying to keep himself apart from society, specifically the conniving debutantes, scheming for a ri

WTF Are You Reading?
Few things shock Liam Cavanaugh. The much scandalized Earl of Wolford is no stranger to the rumor mill. Whether it be by way of the scandal sheets or word of mouth. But when he finds himself injured, unable to see, and in a strange bed. Liam becomes all to aware that this latest scandal is far more truth than anything that even he is prepared for.

Adeline Pimm has always longed for adventure. A desire long denied her. Due to an injury at her birth; which left one leg shorter than the other. But n

Vivienne Lorret has been added to my slowly growing list of historical authors that I'm really enjoying. If you follow me on my blog or goodreads you will see I usually shy away from them, but for the past two months I have been getting more into them and finding some I really do enjoy and I'm happy to say This Earl Is On Fire is one of them. While the cover is beautifully done it's the title that immediately caught my interest and I'm so glad it did!

Adeline is new to London and she is seeking

This series just keeps getting better and better! I really enjoyed that none of the things that bothered me about the first book (for example mentioning stuff that had happened in the novella that takes place before book 1 without explaining them sufficiently, and a plot that seemed to focus on too many things at one for me) were the case here. If not for the somewhat unnecessary drama (view spoiler) ...more

Waiting until October 4th to read Juliet and Max's story is going to be torture! :)

The part I loved the most in this book is, the heroine is not perfect. Adeline is disabled but independent and strong and an all around likeable character. Liam jumps the gun and tends to think the worst of everyone but as far as hero's go, he pretty great. I love the writing and the storyline. The book held my attention from beginning to end. ...more

Not as good as the previous installment, but I enjoy reading historical romances by this author nonetheless. Her writing is superb even if I may not like all her characters and stories. This one bordered on predictable, but Adeline was a very likable heroin. Liam, on the other hand, appeared as fickle and unpredictable as a teenage girl. He never knows what he wants, and waiting on him to figure it out until the very end was frustrating.

I look forward to reading more by this author. When ever I

Originally bought this book because of its title. I ended up enjoying it, the romance was nice but the pacing was kind of off and a lot of elements and phrases kept getting reused.

Vivienne Lorret’s This Season’s Original Series just gets better and better. I’m totally addicted to this series and can’t wait for the next book! This Earl is on Fire is a captivatingly, deeply passionate, roller coaster of a read. This story is well deserving of 5 stars.

We are first met by the Pimm’s family who open their door to find a man slumped on their stoop. He’s been horribly beaten up and unconscious. The Pimm’s, with the help of their butler, drag him inside. Their daughter Adeline i

Sheltered all her life by loving parents, Miss Adeline Pimm is determined to prove that she can stand on her own two feet. What better way to do that than with a London season where she feels she is fully prepared to make this an adventure; her only concern is her secret coming to light. A secret that has her determined never to marry. A secret that she feels elicits pity and/or repulsion. What Adeline isn’t prepared for is family myth affecting her in a way she is not prepared to explore when a ...more
