Reclaiming Lexi

She’s filled with a sense of dread on her wedding day… Lexi McCardle still dreams of Luke Kettering, the guy who dumped her in high school, although she hasn’t seen or heard from him since. Concerned about her wedding-day jitters, her family questions her decision to go through with it. Then her fiancé calls it off just as she’s kidnapped by Luke. Luke says he loves her and always has. But she doesn’t believe him. Can she ever get past her feelings of hurt and betrayal in order to trust him again? He’s tried to forget her, but to no avail… After he learns of Lexi’s wedding plans on social media, Luke calls in all his favors through his contacts with the prosecutor’s office where he works and discovers a dark secret about her fiancé, forcing the man to call off the wedding. Luke then kidnaps Lexi and takes her to a remote cabin in Northern Michigan to give them some time alone. He’s always loved her, but even as the passion ignites between them, he fears they can never get past her anger. Can he convince her that she belongs to him, or will his betrayal in high school doom their love forever?

Tara Eldana is a recently retired, multi-award-winning staff writer for a weekly community newspaper chain in metro Detroit. She became hooked on romance fiction when her eleventh grade English teacher rejected the book report she wrote, saying the book was too easy for her, and insisting she read and report on Daphne du Maurier's "Rebecca."

After complications after surgery 10 years ago, and covering numerous murder trials and other crime stories on her beat, she decided to write what she loves to read - stories with happy endings.

Reclaiming Lexi is the first story i read from the author and i have to say it was really interesting
and promising. Lexi never forgot her love for Luke even if now she is getting married to Marcus always having dreams about him maybe she doesn't admit it loudly but deep down she is wishing for him to come back in to her life and not Marcus, well her wish came true because the wedding is off and the long lost Luke is back, you can't even imagine what's about to happen.

I liked Lexi's character a lot and even Luke's character as he is now because i was really pissed off about his actions in the past i mean why wait eight years to claim the woman you hurt (emotionally) why so long?? There are some answers in the story about his actions but i wasn't 100% convinced about it. Apart from that if i was in Lexi's shoes i would be very angry with him he can't claim that she is his just like that, you have earn it dude. Nevertheless it is a short story with a fast pace, the explicit scenes were the highlight of the story.

I received this book from Goodreads in exchange for an honest review.

Unfortunately this will not be an overly positive review. If you like Stockholm Syndrome, extreme instalove and controlling guys, then this is the book for you. If that is the case, however, then I feel whether you like this book or not would be the least of your problems.

Everything in this book happens in about the space of a day, and that everything includes the mane male character forcing the female's character's fiancé to dump her on her wedding day, him kidnapping her, them having a lot of sex, and him proposing together. Of all of the above the only bits she seems slightly bothered about is the latter two, and that's only because she's so excited it's all happening. Why was she so uncaring about everything? Because they dated once before for about a week or 2. They hadn't seen eachother in 8 years, yet it's ok for him to do all of those things because they used to go out. Sickening.

Steamy Short 3.5 stars!!

Reclaiming Lexi is a fast-paced, steamy short story. Ms. Eldana weaves all the romantic elements into this contemporary short story which is an admirable effort for her debut in the romance genre. I think it has great potential were the characters and storyline developed in a longer story. All in all, an entertaining read. I’m sure to look for more of her work.

I received this copy from a Goodreads giveaway.

If you are looking for 5 minutes of escapism it is probably fine but at only fifty pages there isn't much to it. You actually get the whole story reading the blurb at the back.

I won "Reclaiming Lexi" in the giveaways. I loved the story and how all Lexi could think about was Luke and then he shows up and takes her away. Her dreams came true. Thank you so much Tara Eldana for the book!

I received this as part of good reads giveaways. A very short read, I read in one sitting.
If you want something quick and easy to read then I would recommend it, but that would be all I recommend it for
