An entertaining tale, if highly derivative. I read Venetia, Frederica, The Grand Sophy, Pride & Prejudice and Cold Comfort Farm in here - not to mention playing fast and loose with Lord Byron & Caro Lamb. All very good stories from which to derive, no doubt.

Miss Susan Winston had heard shocking stories about the handsome and heartless Viscount Everly. Once upon a time he had had a heart only to have it broken by a faithless beauty. He had more than evened the score by the scandalous seductions that made him the most infamous rake in the realm.

Now this libertine lord needed a wife for the sake of show--and how could an impoverished orphan like Susan say no to a man who offered her so much for so little? But playing the part of Lord Everly's pawn was one thing - and becoming a plaything of passion was another. Yet Susan found herself dangerously falling under the spell of a man who was delighted to prove that loving well was the best revenge...

This book was just silly. So many twists and turns. The whole kitchen sink.
