For nine months Gunner Crosby had played nursemaid to his partner Louis, who was dying of cancer. That was, until the doctor found a lump on Lief's testicle during a routine physical exam. When Gunner met Lief he never imagined falling for a guy who may end up just as sick as Louis had been. But Gunner wasn't the type of individual to cut and run, so when Lief gets some depressing news about his health, Gunner is at a loss. And if Gunner thinks he's lost, Lief is in permanent denial. LIked the book, and I liked the guys. I was left feeling a bit uncomfortable about the MC's view of cancer - that the guy who died hadn't fought hard enough, and if you fight hard enough you will overcome it. There was a lot of impleid judgement about how to deal with cancer.

This book was just ok. It had so much promise. Waaay too much sexy time. I️ didn’t like how he talked down about Louis’ cancer. Implying he didn’t fight hard enough. Not cool. The ending felt a bit rushed. You’re ok. The end.

I enjoyed reading it

I liked the idea of the story and how the main characters met, although their romance felt very rushed. There didn't seem to be any closure with Louis and his family. I wanted to find out what happen with the old man and the race car that Gunner bought. Did Leif get the endorsements he so desperately wanted? Tell us how Lief introduced Gunner to his friends and family. What was up with the flirting between Lief and the movie star? (Is there another story there?) I teared up at several times while reading and that is a sure fire way to hook me on a book till the end.

3 Tissue book for me. Knowing people who have died from and those still fighting cancer i could relate to the M.C.s . I truly believe that whilst positive thinking and fighting will never cure cancer it definitely gives you a better chance of a longer life than just giving up.I also understand burying your head in the sand is sometimes the easiest option.
I also understand how you can fall into a caregiving relationship cos you are a nice person.
So a 5 star rating from me.

I'm not crazy about cars or very interested in triathlons but the author manage to make them both interesting to me. However, there was a lot of sex between MCs who met for a critical time in both their lives and who didn't really know each other. I really liked Gunner's kindness and attitude about life; Lief not so much. All in all given the subject matter, it was a well written book and not the angst filled drama that it could have been.
