A tale of revenge, loyalty and debts owed.

He’s the Enforcer for the New Orleans Chapter of the Evil Dead MC.
She’s a nurse, kidnapped and thrust into a situation out of her control.

Chained to a bed, his wounds on fire, his mind foggy with fever, Blood is losing all hope of ever making it out of the stifling New Orleans row house. Until the door opens and an angel of mercy is thrust inside.

Nurse Catherine ‘Cat’ Randall stared at the man on the bed. He’s dark and dangerous and everything she hates—just another filthy biker. Only he isn’t. He’s nothing like the others. And she’s his only hope of escape. Can she risk helping him? Can she trust a man who wears an MC patch? How can he be her savior when he wears the face of her deepest fear?

Blood owes the pretty nurse a debt—one he’s determined to repay, even if it clashes with his duty to his club. He made her a promise. But time is running out. To keep that promise and repay the debt he owes, he may have to sacrifice it all—everything that ever meant a damn to him.

Fighting treachery, betrayal, and dirty deals, there are a hundred ways it could all go wrong, but Blood is determined to have Cat for his own. She’s fast becoming his weakness. As the smoldering passion between them flares to life, burning hot and intense, no one is going to stop him. He wants it all, and he’ll settle for nothing less.

This is an emotional story filled with twists and turns, tragedy and humor that only the Evil Dead MC can deliver. Hang on for a ride you won’t forget.

Blood and Cat really worked well together and I loved how their characters had an instant attraction, even in the life or death situation they were stuck in. Blood was your typical Nicole James Hero, meaning he was amazingly hot and could be really possessive. I love her heroes for this very reason and I was so happy to see those same traits in Blood.

Overall a great story and has me excited to see more from the New Orleans chapter of the Evil Dead MC.

This one was a disappointment. They kept missing huge clues and doing some really inexplicable things for no apparent reasons. Plus the clubs unwiilingness to help Blood find the sister seemed whacked to me. I ended up not liking most the characters in the book. 2.5 stars.

Catherine 'Cat' Randall can't believe her luck, she already lost one sister and now her younger sister is being used as collateral in order to get Cat to help out an injured biker. Cat wants nothing to do with bikers but has no choice.

Blood thinks an angel has arrived to lead the way, but Cat quickly pulls him out of his fevered situation and he works on her in order to get her to help him escape. He promises Cat that he will get her sister back but Cat is torn between putting her trust in Blood and his MC.

There is a lot more to the story I am not going into but I loved that this was a bit of a slow build. Blood is attracted right away to Cat but she fights it. I thought her attitude was perfect and enjoyed every moment of how this story unfolded. Excellent.

A heroína é incrível! Recomendo toda série.

I was curious about Blood in previous books and was dying to meet the woman who would conquer his heart. The author did a great job with this story. We have action, good secondary characters, we learned about the childhood of the hero and the chemistry between him and our heroine is very good. The heroine is amazing! Recommend the whole series.

"What department? What’s your specialty?” “I work in the departure lounge.” His brows shot up. “The what?” “It’s what we call the geriatric floor.”

“Want to know what we call motorcycles?” “What?” He could hardly wait to hear this one. “Donorcycles. It’s where we get most organ donations. Motorcycle fatalities.”

Escape into my Reads Book Blog

I was thirsty for Blood’s story ever since his character came on the scene in Shades book and I was gone for him. I knew I was in for a ride when I started reading Blood because seriously the blurb, and this is Nicole James we are talking about who knows how to write an mc book that makes you keep coming back for more or doing re-reads.

I found myself really loving this book and I was fully immersed in Blood and Cat’s journey who were just awesome together. The plot was exciting with twists I didn’t put together, suspense that had my heart racing, danger, revenge, heat, sexy alpha males who had badass written all over them and a strong heroine in Cat. I felt all the emotions, and the fears and pain of the characters.

My first impression of Blood in Shades book was that he came across as in your face, cocky, sexy, protective, stepping on other people’s toes to get what he wanted, and being unafraid to express his wants whilst he also had a soft spot for the ladies. In this he still had those traits but he also showed so much more to his character by being sweet, caring, thoughtful, selfless and also showing a vulnerability to him. My heart hurt for him.

The chemistry between Blood and Cat in this was sexy and hot hot hot! They just gelled together with a push and pull attraction but not to a point where Blood was a manwhore, or Cat was weak. Which is something I absolutely adore about Nicole James and the alpha men she writes. The men might mess up along the way but they love their women fiercely and are all just about them.

Blood seriously was such a fun read that melted my heart, had me laughing out loud and smiling, and that largely had to do with all the loyalty, the humour, the “got your back” and ribbing between all the mc brothers, from Sandman down to the father son relationship between Undertaker and Blood. The epilogue was great but I always want more! This story was a great addition to the Evil Dead series and I cannot wait for what comes next.

Re-read and just as good the second time around. This series and author are my go to when I'm in a slump and need something to hold my interest.

I've been looking forward to Blood's story since he was introduced in book 3 and I wasn't disappointed at all. I really liked both Blood and Cat's characters. I love any good romance set in New Orleans and the bayou country. Throw in some hot, bad ass Cajun men speaking French and it gets me every time. Loved the descriptions of the town and especially liked the three dimensional characters in this story. This is one of the best MC series I've read.

Cat is a sassy nurse who, through her brother in-law, is taken to help the the Death Heads MC, to save the life of Blood. Blood has been the character I have been waiting for! I absolutely couldn’t wait for this story. Blood seems so dark and broody, however you know that deep down he has to have a soft center. This by far is my favorite MC series and Nicole James is my favorite MC writer. She knows exactly how to make her guys the tough guys who don’t take crap from anyone but who also treat their women like they are the most precious thing. Well done Nicole, this is definitely going to be on my reread list and a book I will recommend to everyone!

Cat just ended her shift as a nurse at the hospital. She is about to start seven well deserved days off and all she is looking to do is relax, starting with a big glass of wine and a hot bath. What she doesn't expect is an ugly reminder of her dead sister sitting in her kitchen and two bikers holding her sister captive. They will let her sister Holly go if Cat helps them save their prisoner who happens to be Blood, member of their rival, the Evil Dead MC. Cat doesn't anticipate her attraction to Blood. Days spent together and an eventual escape have them getting very close. Blood feels he owes it to Cat to get her sister back and vows to do so even if it goes against his Presidents wishes. Their attraction simmers under the surface of the storyline and just adds that much more sizzle to an already hot and twist filled romance. I loved Cat, she had a backbone of steel and shows it to some pretty scary fucking people, but she is kind, caring and gives herself fully when she trusts. Blood learned from his father that women leave and they are never to be trusted, they aren't loyal and only look out for themselves. Why shouldn't he believe it, his mother left him when he was just a boy and she never looked back. Her willingness to help Blood and the fact that she saved his life, Cat slowly decimates all that Blood believes about women. There are so many gorgeous twists and surprises in Blood, I never wanted the book to end. Nicole James and her hot bikers never disappoint me. I am waiting as patiently as possible for Undertakers story. Enjoy!

Good addition to the series.

Blood is deep and very complicated. He is also really hot! His story was interesting and we got more insight to him.

Cat was a strong lead and didn't take crap. She fit Blood to a tee.

Great story!

Meet Blood. The Enforcer in the Louisiana chapter of the Evil Dead. Hot alpha meets his strong mate. Follow the journey of two unlikely people who are destined for each other.

Nicole James is one of my favorite story tellers. She brings to life the characters and causes us to fall in love with these strong tattooed covered men who are badasses but have a soft side for the women who love them.

If you haven't read the Evil Dead. Start with Outlaw. You will fall in love with all of the boys. I promise!

Evil Dead MC—first, last, and always ...

We all waited a while for Blood's release, and the end result was so worth it.
In books prior, Blood was that brooding, dark, mysterious, bossy alpha who absolutely deserved his own story. Let me just say—Nicole James outdid herself.
This is the first full journey we've taken inside the Evil Dead MC's New Orleans clubhouse. I loved the descriptions of the sights, the sounds, and the smells of everything the city had to offer—as if we were placed smack in the middle of it all—the good and the bad.
With the presence of a rival MC in town, along with the scum who pimp out plenty of the area's prostitution, Blood finds himself in a world of trouble and pain.
Cat is a nurse who can't stand bikers; they've caused her sister and herself nothing but grief.
So ... Cat ... meet Blood. Blood, this is Cat, the nurse who's unwillingly here to save your life but would rather kill you. Ah, a match made in heaven!
Blood is a good guy in a biker kinda way. He makes no excuses for who he is or what he's done. He'll take what he wants, whenever he wants—whether it be someone's life unwillingly, or some chick's willing body. He lives his life for his club—his family. Blood's loyalty to Undertaker, his prez, and to his brothers is unfaltering. Oh, uh also, I should mention that Blood is extremely dominant and controlling in bed too. Gah, the man is beyond sexy.
Blood and Cat owe each other a lot. The biggest issue is trust. there's a lot at stake for each of them when Cat's sister, Holly, is taken from her while she's saving Blood's life. I was actually a bit worried how Blood's priority to his club or Cat was going to play out. He wants to save Holly, but at what cost? I'm one of those 'nothing comes before the MC' type of readers. Once again, Nicole shows how the ties to the brotherhood are so strong as she sends in Sandman, Mooch, Easy, Bam-Bam, even Shades and Ghost (yep, they came for some major support!) and most of all, Undertaker, to make the decision for him. When you're a member of the Evil Dead MC, a lost brother never goes it alone and is always pointed in the right direction. They banter back and forth between themselves, which is always hysterical, yet they have no problem calling one of their own out when they screw up. Nicole James did an outstanding job with Blood's story. It was everything I'd hoped it would be and more. A captivating storyline, great main characters, plenty attention to detail, along with a swoon worthy club house filled with the best MC in the world made this, hands down, a ten-star read for me.

First, my biggest issue with this book was the complete ignorance of any form of birth control, STD protection. Blood literally walks up to a complete stranger in a bar and takes her by the hand into a corner in the dark and has sex with her, without even speaking (um ok) and has unprotected with her. WTF! That is just nasty. They literally didn't even exchange names and neither of them are worried about pregnancy or STDs?? Ewww. And then when Blood starts having sex with Cat later in the book, there is never any mention or discussion of birth control or condoms and Cat is a NURSE. I found this to be gross, stupid and unrealistic. Beyond that, the relationship between Blood and Cat moved at a strange pace. I felt when he was in captivity and had an infection from a bullet wound was a very unrealistic time for him to be hitting on a woman. He even kissed Cat twice and she LET him which was strange, because again she is a nurse who must normally have some professionalism. Then when they escape and move into the clubhouse, they hardly touch and Blood gives her space to even have her own room. Anyway, the book is ok, I just had some issues with the pacing and lack of realism even though I always go in with a suspension of disbelief.

Blood! He fell for Cat way faster than I thought he would. I thought he’d give way more of a fight but I guess when you find the one sometimes it’s just easier to give in to it! Loved this story and I’m wondering what is up with Cat’s sister Holly! Loved this book!

I could not wait for this book to be released, and again, Nicole James does not disappoint with her stories. The action starts off from the beginning. Blood is so amazing, tough, sexy, strong.....but he's found himself in a situation that he's not sure how he's gonna get out of this time. Catherine is a nurse, wrong place wrong time. In a struggle to keep loved one safe, she must help Blood stay alive, although it's the last thing she'd rather do.

These two together are explosive and the chemistry is so in sync. I loved every bit of this book. Could not ask for more.

Blood was so good! I have been waiting for Blood's story since I read Shades' book. It was so worth the wait! He's such a badass but we also get to see a tender side of him. I loved that a few of the Alabama chapter make an appearance. The banter between the guys was great!

i loved it ... of course. this has been one of my favourite series since reading book 1 and i have loved Blood since his first appearance. he is hard on the outside and hard on the inside but there is a touch of soft and gooey for Cat ... and she is a perfect match for him. enjoyed every word and it was great to have a cameo visit by Shades, Skylar & Ghost.

3.8.18 - quick re-reads today of Blood and Undertaker prior to starting Joker. a great series that i have thoroughly enjoyed and can see myself re-reading again and again

Well this is what happens when I fall for a supporting character and he gets his own book.... it sucks. This always happens. I get so excited. I hype up the book soooo much.
Q ugly crying...

I skimmed 90% of the book. I made sure when Ghost and Shade came in to read all of their scenes b/c my boys are funny as hell!

One other HUGE thing to note... Blood has unprotected Sex with the Club Sluts!
Then he has unprotected Sex with Cat and doesn't pull out nor did they ever as far as I know talk about her being on the pill...

The connection and romance between Blood and Cat? I didn't feel it. I mean the sex scenes where amazing but that's about it. I felt more of a connection between the Undertaker and Holly. Which BTW I was hoping they would get a book.... but NOPE. The next book is going to be about the Undertaker falling for Holly's counselor he calls in... Booooooooo.

Not sure if I am going to read Books 1-4 of the series... I starts off with Book 5. I think I may read Shades? We shall see.

Blood was shot, and captured by the DK and he was not getting better so they kidnap a nurse to help him.
Cat is only helping because they have her sister.

These two are not the most likely couple and how they are together are explosive , but Bloods past is coming after him and he has to face it head on to save Cat's sister and make everyone safe

Blood had a lot of demons. The type of father he had, not trust in women, thinking his mother left him. Cat's experience with bikers not the best pertaining to her older sister. Her younger sister is kidnapped and with her and Blood working together to try and find her.

Great I love Blood! I liked hearing all the New Orleans slang and I love his real name Etienne! I was shocked when it was revealed who his dad was. Cat was ok I did like her attitude. I’m anxious to read the last two books.

This was a great compelling read I enjoyed the characters. There was definitely some things that weren't by the law which made the story authentic.

Loved Blood and Cat. Even though this relationship moved fast it didn't seem like it. Looking forward to seeing the next book.

More club business than love business. Blood and Catherine (I don't like the shortened version of the name, too overused) had a few hot moments, well over 60% into the book, but all I felt between them was lust and attraction. The romance was lacking. That ridiculous smile you have on your face, that warm feeling in your chest as you watch two people who you know are stupidly in love with each other was lacking.

And while we did get a little background on both Blood and Catherine's upbringing, I didn't feel like I really knew them as people. I don't know how old they are, what makes them tick, what are their likes and dislikes, strengths and insecurities. They were just ... well, characters in a book. Which is hella ironic, cuz that's what they are, characters in a book, but you know when you read about certain characters and you get to know them, build an attachment to them and root for them - I didn't get that feeling here.

I certainly wasn't rooting against them, mind you. But all throughout this novel I was just kind of indifferent to them on a whole. Sometimes James doesn't even give you these guys' real names, just their nickname, which further depersonalizes them. We never would have known Blood's real name unless certain situations hadn't arisen. Interesting to me that Catherine didn't even ask him his real name ... I mean, why bother asking the real name of the man you're lusting after and will eventually sleep with?

It was the same in Shades' book - we never found out what his real name was. Maybe it was revealed in the subsequent books that I skipped, books 4 - 5.5, but I think it's weird to tell a whole love story about characters whose real names we don't know. Did we even find out what Skylar's last name was? I don't like the trend.

Anyway, I guess that is to be expected when you're dealing with what are essentially hardened criminals. Plus, Blood is the Enforcer of the club; he isn't just some foot soldier, he has rank. Probably the bloodiest one of all. So his romantic exploits are probably not going to be all bows, cotton candy and flowers. And they weren't, not with Catherine or anyone who came before her.

Their story ended on an optiminist note, which I suppose is good enough. However, if like me, you read these romances for the warm feelings, the escape, the hope of that one true love, often so elusive in real life ... then it is a little disappointing.

Props to Nicole James, though, for adding a different flavour to each installment of this series.

SWOON CITY “NOW THAT WAS WORTH THE WAIT”

Dear Readers ,

💥💋Seriously SPECTACULAR💋💥
Marks all the Boxes to pull you in & keep you flipping the pages . Like glue !!! Didn’t want to put it down .
It has everything intrigue, spice , chemistry & bad boys fighting it out w/o it being at the expense of a woman being used against her will in that way . It has gripping what will happen next .
Romance & Chemistry 🧪 Off the charts . Blood is an Extreme man with many factors you knew from reading his character , in the other ones in the series . Of course he made us all scream at him in the SHADES Book . When he tried to interfere with Skylar . But we all knew it would not come to anything .
He redeemed himself in the book following shades. So I was looking forward to his Book . Hoped for this kind of chemistry line for Him & his Love” Cat “.

❤️I have to give a special thank you to Miss James for not making the trauma these sisters had to endure more violent . Having lost their other sister in the way they did . It would have been to much of more had happened to them .

So it was the right amount of heart pounding suspense.
Ending in a Beautiful Way . Absolutely one of my Favs.

Bloods story line is simply tragic & heartwarming at the same time . Undertaker taking him in & giving him a role model & a HOME TO CALL HIS OWN .. One of the most important elements in his story. Bravo 👏
