this is my least favorite of his books for two reasons. one, as it says in the preface, it's a bunch of little stories and jokes that didn't make it into his other books - and my assumptions because they weren't good enough Dash the second reason is there's a lot of more rated R stuff or nasty things or bad words. I wasn't expecting that and did not enjoy them. but that's just me.
Here's a factoid: a whole book of dirty jokes is somehow...not very funny. Maybe it's my Presbyterian background. Naaah, these were just old, repetitive, repulsive (some of the commentary about women, especially) and just eccchhhh. I stopped after page 102. Reading this in the bathtub actually made me feel like I needed a shower.
So far this is nothing different than I've heard on the elementary school playground. Almost none of this is his. He really should be listed as the editor, not the author. But I'm only a chapter in. We'll see how things go.
If you love words, language, puns, analogies, etc. this book is great! This isn’t necessarily a book to sit down and read straight through; rather, piecemeal when you need a laugh! Love Richard Lederer!
