The minimalistic way of writing that Helle Helle is famous for, is not my cup of tea.

Nothing really happens in this book - all the action takes place "between the lines", which is a fancy way of saying that the reader has to spend the whole book trying to guess what is really going on. The pages are filled with descriptions of the mundane and trivial. By reading between the lines, the reader can infer what is going on below the mundane surface.

Some readers might find this "don't show, don't te

It's a pity this book has never been translated to English. While set in a small town in Denmark, describing the lives of ordinary Danes, many people all around the world can relate to the feeling of going back to the place where one grew up and trying to feel home again.

I Helle Helles velke

Min yndlings Helle Helle bog.
