This book features two aces, Canadian Billy Bishop and American Eddie Rickenbacker in their own words and of those of their contemporaries. Sections from the war diary of Gen. Billy Mitchell provide insights into the impressions of this outspoken advocate of air power.
The value of memoirs such as these is that they convey the impressions of the time with little filtering of through the lens of time and reflection. Look elsewhere for the big picture of the war but pick this for its flavor.
