Does your husband always seem to miss the point of what youre saying? Do you feel that your wife never listens when you're trying to say something important? Do the two of you have the same old arguments over and over again? In this book, the authors who are professional communication experts reveal an important breakthrough method for improving communication in relationships. This system was developed out of Foster's overwhelmingly successful interview technique, which is professionally regarded as one of the best methods of communicating, interacting with people, and getting them to reveal their essential nature.
I borrowed the 1994 edition from my library. This book is well intentioned but implausible. How can there be only 4 personality types? Why reinforce the stereotype that crossed arms means a person is "closed" or putting up barriers? There are probably kernels of truth buried in here somewhere, but I've already been put off and it feels as though the author is taking liberties. Better just to borrow a first-year psychology text that covers the basics of communication.
I realized that I am a Driver, so is my best friend. And my ex/current/ex song-and dance boyfriend is an Elitist. After a while it just told me things that I already know and have tried, and failed with him.... Stlil pretty helpful though. Worth the read if you're interested in the differences between personalities.
