The clock is ticking on the total destruction of Lord Edmund Rushfield’s life of excess. An admitted spoiled wastrel, money has never been an object for his follies but on his twenty-sixth birthday, according to his father’s will, if he doesn’t have a wealthy wife of superior breeding, or at least one in the wings waiting to say “I do,” like Cinderella’s elegant horses to pull her magical carriage, all he will be left with are a few rats scurrying around.

After few beers with an old buddy, they h

Lord Edmund Rushwood has few weeks left to his birthday to find a wife and keep his title and his fortune. To do things quicker, he goes to the USA to find his future bride, but he never expected to meet Abby, a poor and simple girl who owns a vintage records shop.

This book was obviously inspired by a fairytale and classic of English literature books like Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice, heavily mentioned in the story. We have the prince and the hum

Appreciate the author for the giveaway, and a sweet note accompanied with the book.

Cute, feel-good love story. I found myself wondering away from the story lines at times, for unknown reasons, but it is an enjoyable, read after-all.

Lord Bachelor is likeable and relaxing reading. A fairytale set in 21th century full of cliché.
After two or three chapters you know the whole story. That was my problem, because I couln't get into it because I knew how it ends. However I kept reading and I found myself, that I was enjoying the middle part - full of funny lines, feelings and insecurities between Edmund and Abby. I liked how they became closer and fell in love with each other. But after the fiasco the last evening of Love Match

"Lord Bachelor" by Tammy L. Bailey is my first read from this author but it will not be my last. This book was recommended by a friend of mine, and I am glad that she told me about it. Lord Edmund Rushwood was born into money but he must marry in order to receive anything according to his father's will. Abby Foster is a poor student who works hard for her money. She is trying to keep her father's legacy from going to the dogs since her stepmother seems to be trying to bring it all down. The two ...more

What an entertaining read! Give me a humorous book with witty banter between two main characters that can take it as well as they dish it out...and I'm hooked! This book has it all! Humor, romance, angst, brilliant dialogue, a touch of magic, and the right dose of sexy. The plot wasn't original and some of the scenes were a bit cliche' but Ms. Bailey's writing style is so captivating and engaging that you will love it anyway! This debut novel was a pleasant surprise and I can't wait to read more ...more

A modernly jocular mix of 'Pride and Prejudice' & 'Cinderella'.......(4.5 stars!)
Passionate salsa, pot full of drama, loads of humor, a whisper of magic, little angst, a dash of heartbreak and, a heady dose of love, sums up the plot of Lord Bachelor.
With witty narrative, lots of tongue in cheek moments, a hilarious inclusion of a reality show, a Cinderella romance including a villainous stepmother and stepsister (for free!), coupled with riotous lead characters, -this novel is a treat!

This was a fun romp of a contemporary romance from start to finish, and I enjoyed every minute of it. A blend of fairy tale and Jane Austen sensibility, Lord Bachelor is an enjoyable lighthearted summer read.

Blend sprinkles of Cinderella and her evil stepmother with Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Add in a selfish English prince, a la Beauty and the Beast, and a poor shopgirl from Oregon with a heart of gold who can save him with her love. Mix in a touch of fairy godmother magic, and blend it all

Soooooooooo we have a sexy bachelor. A damsel in distress who doesn't really want rescuing. A bitchy stepmom - the kind you want to feed to your dog. And an eccentric aunt that's got more going on than the eye can see.
In short? Perfect ingredients for a wonderful romance, with a happily ever after!! Yipee!!
I fell in love with Abby & Edmund & his Brit accent that I could hear in my head whilst reading lol. My heart squeezed, lifted and sang for them to finally, FINALLY, get together.

If you like fun, easy to read, and charming characters, you can pick this book up. This story maybe inspire from Disney princess and most of the story parallel to it which in my opinion is very good. There are a lot of fun and cute romance between the couple and with every Disney inspire story, a very nasty bad person who wants it for themselves. There are a few intimate scenes that in my opinion is very cute and loving. The feeling towa

I'm a huge Jane Austen fan but not a fan of contestant shows like Bachelor and Bachelorette, so when I saw that this one was available to review, I jumped on it, curious to see how it played out. I was ready to see what the author had in store for her characters, as well as for a new reader, like me. Let me assure you, this author has a dedicated fan in me now! Edmund and Abby – such a lovely couple. I cannot seem to understand why it took me so much to discover this book, but now that I have, I cannot seem to disconnect from the story, long after I have finished it.

These two main characters feel so real and both are meticulously created so that they fit together perfectly. He is a rich, spoiled bachelor looking for a wife with a similar financial position as his.
She is rich, but in her heart. A mistake brings them together in a dating show, together

Expecting that this story would be familiar in many ways from the rake needs a bride stories so common in historical romance, I was pleasantly surprised to see this modern version of the old trope come to life as I turned the pages.

We see Edmund, the stereotypical posh boy: used to frittering away his time without consequence or reprisals as he’s moneyed, handsome, reasonably intelligent and charming. His father’s will, however, mandates he find a bride, or ‘lock down a bride’ with impeccable c

Tammy L. Bailey contacted me early in the summer about giving her book a go and to say that I was excited to read this would be a gross understatement. Combining The Bachelor with an English dude who has a title? Yes, please! I really hyped this one up in my head and I think that may have been a bad thing.

I'm not completely sure where to start because my one issue with the book kind of messed up everything for me ... here it is ... it just felt ... disjointed. I couldn't quite put my finger on

This was one of those books, you know the ones, that you start reading and you just get engulfed in it. The characters Abby Forester, is a college student and shop owner of vinyl recorders. Her father left her a half owner of it. She is just a young, lonely, romantic girl trying to get by.
You see her mother passed when she was younger and her father always felt somewhat guilty never giving her another mother. So, he hastily brought an evil lady to their lives. She may have had bloodline but she

Edmund is a sight for sore eyes with a very self centered personality to match. He wants what he has in store for him, but WHAT is in store for him? Is he ready?

Abby doesn’t like waiting tables at times when people can show their worst side. However she has to deal with it to keep her job.

When requesting Will’s help to get a rich wife and fast to continue his lavish life, Lord Edmund has no idea that he could even care about another in a way where he may possibly reconsider what he has to do, b

I received a copy for an honest review. I really liked the concept of a modern love story but with an a throw-back victorian-like romance plot. Edmund must marry rich aristocrat or he will lose everything as it was stated in his father's will. Abby is a struggling American so you would think it will not work out. But like every good romance novel, the path to love is never a straight line. Loved the modern-retro twist.
