Not my favourite McGough - but saved by the fact it contains one of my all-time favourite McGough poems. So that made this worth buying - and reading. At his best he really is one of the great poets of pithy observation.

Can you imagine a holiday on death row. Oh, yes, by the way, we are suspending executions for a week.. the hangman needs a break!

I love McGough, he's one of my favorite poets. This collection, however, isn't quite as good as his other work.
