Get yourself some beautiful inked women, let them 'seduce' the photographer and you get this creative tattoo lookbook.

Featured are the Ink Nymphs, tattoo models showing off the LA lifestyle, all photographed by Nelson Blanton.

The photography is compelling, the photographer managed to capture their personality, spirit and energy beautifully. I would've liked a more cohesive look in the imagery though, there was a noticable difference in style and quality of the images. While a few were editorial

I don't understand myself. i had no freaking idea about i was hopping, but i was clear that there's going to be a lot of tattoos photos but i didn't expect that the models will be so important, because isn't just the art is the attitued, the clothes, the place. More than a tattoo album is a tribute to L.A., the fashion, the people, the beach...for me the most of the photos were good but no awesome, and there's the problem...maybe was the model, the focus or maybe i'm just crazy. The body art was ...more

I was very disappointed with this book. I was hoping for much more emphasis on the tattoos. I felt much of the photography was very amateur. Even the photographer's selfie in the intro had a blinding flash reflection. There was a lot of glare from windows and conflicting light sources. If you want inspiration for new ink this would not be the first book to pick up!

AOI Ink Nymphs Los Angeles by Tim Stephens is a beautifully produced book. The pictures, while showing the tattoos the women wear, also displays each model's personality. The combination of tattoos, these women and this location make the book what it is.

This may seem contradictory but the reason I didn't give a full five out of five stars is likely due to the overall strength of the photography. Bear with me and I will try to explain. First, the photographs are certainly a form of artistic expre

Prior to viewing this collection, I had not heard of the Ink Nymphs before, but after finishing this book, I wish I had learned of them sooner. This collection of images (over 200) of them is visually stunning, and would greatly appeal to tattoo lovers, photography lovers and anyone who loves physical beauty in general. This photo portfolio of Nelson Blanton demonstrates the epitome of Californian beauty, with his pictures being honest and playful, with elements of eroticism . Sometimes the girl ...more
Thanks to, Tim Stephens and Schiffer Publishing LTD for the advance ARC on the ebook version of this book.

Totally not what I was expecting, while you do have some pretty cool photos of tattoo's, but it just to amateur, compared to a couple of books I've looked at and several of the models have very little ink work on them.

Who wants to look at one of the models that posed laying down, with several tiny tat's and then you have a tattoo artist doing a tattoo on a women. With beautif

Mama mia!

This book is simply dazzling. Women redefine beauty with ink and skin.
Every picture hides a story.
Every model is hiding a message.

Every page is a meter deeper into a wonderland of tattoos and fantasy.

Honest, raw and alive.
Masterful photography and simply breathtaking portraits.
Be allured into the world and eyes of Nelson Blanton and be prepared for a demanding

I feel like this is a cliche coffee table book. It has one overexposed image after another, trying to represent itself as art. The girls have amazing tattoos, but I think the culling of the images and their presentation is doing no favor for them. It screams of someone trying too hard.
There is not enough photographic techniques, ie bokeh, proper chroma coloring, to make this an artistic book. I feel like it is a new to the trade photographer making their first book. It's a solid start, but lack

Some beautiful photography of inked grrls! I like that (for the most part), the photographer focused on the ink itself instead of the girl with a few exceptions.

Favorite tattoos include the Nightmare Before Christmas sleeve on Page 63 & the bunnies sleeve on Page 203.

As far as portraits, page 73 & 75 are the stand outs for me.

While this book focuses on the Nymphs of LA, it might have been nice to see a little more body diversity among the models. There are some bigger girls all around the world

I am not a photographer but I can appreciate the beauty of photographs like these. Beautiful women who own their ink showing it off. What's not to like? The photographs range from the innocent and distant to the edgy and closeup with everything in between. I also like the random shots thrown in of the city scape or the artiest studio. A book to return to. I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley in return for an honest review.

A nicely done tattoo photography book. It is relatively tasteful compared to most ink photography books and would make a nice coffee table book.
