Quite a quick read—only took 1 day. Personally, too many anecdotes for my liking. I thought the message was quite powerful, though. Also, most of his arguments for practicing “pure excitement” require the reader to already subscribe to strict Christian beliefs. It’s not a bad thing at all, I just wish I could share this message with my secular friends and feel more confident that they’d find the message compelling. I want to more people to practice “pure excitement”!

The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches “The Church teaches that sexual intercourse has a two-fold unitive and procreative purpose; and that outside marriage, sex is always contrary to its purpose.” Joe White does a great job defending this point.

I read this book in high school, as it’s written by the owner of Kanakuk it’s near and dear to me! It’s great for a younger audience (and maybe even young adult) about what love means in the Bible and what purity truly means.. loved it!

Provided a lot of insight for me as a young teen on what was right and wrong. Also, how to treat people.
