While this wasn't as fast-paced as the first book, a) it's set in London, and b) Northrop does a bang-up job of depicting the very real ups and downs of friendship.

But let's back up a moment.

Alex Sennefer's mom read from the forbidden Egyptian Lost Scrolls of the Book of the Dead to save his life. Although it saves Alex's life and gives him back his health, it also opens a portal to the land of the dead, and these Very Bad Creatures called Death Walkers start waking up wherever there are mummie

A quick, fun reading, perfect for a nice weekend, like this one. I found myself loving Ren's sassiness, and I hope we get more of Luke in the upcoming books...

In this book Alex has to travel to London with his cousin, and his best friend Ren. There he battles a evil Egyptian tomb robber, and tries to find his mom. He ends up sending the robber back to the underworld but losses one of his "chaperons." He also finds out that the Order dosnt have his mom and has to travel to Egypt in the next book.

This book is a great read for anyone who is a fan of the hunger games. I enjoyed this book and it was one of my favorites. It is the second in a series so i would recommend the first book also. I think anyone would this book and you should give it a try

Remember Ren from Tombquest, well she gets her own amulet. The author Michael Northrop wrote the book Amulet Keepers.
Do you like mummy? In the book there are mummys that are UNDERground.
A person dies in the book. The person's name is Dr. Aditi. She gets her soul drained out of her body by a death walker.
It seemed very real. For example, Alex can use the regenerater amulet in Egypt. I say everyone would enjoy this book.

I want to give this book a good review but I hate the main character Alex I can't bring myself to read the 3rd book that's how much I don't like him.

It's a great book, that gives us more insight on the characters and a sense of suspense while they try to fight Deathwalkers and find Alex's mom.

This is the second book in the TomQuest series. There are five books planned for this series; books 4 and 5 are supposed to publish in 2016. This series is meant for middle grade aged kids and is one of those serial types of series (think The Spirit Animals or 39 Clues). However I think it is a much better series than either of those. As an adult I really enjoy all the mythology and creepiness in these books. I would like to say I got these because my son is reading them...but I didn’t I got the ...more

Ren and Alex are on a plane to London to stop the Deathwalkers and find Alex's mother (after the events of Book of the Dead). On the way there, the plane runs into a cloud of blood rain that is explained as algae bloom. They also run into Alex's cousin, Luke, who is in London for a sports camp. Ren and Alex are met by a driver from the British Museum, since Dr. Aditi couldn't make it... except Liam turns out to be a thug from The Order and tries to kidnap t

This book for me, was incredibly slow. I was bored most of the story.

I think my main problem with this series is the main character and company. Alex Sennefer annoys me incredibly. He's reckless, arrogant, selfish, unorganized... Shall I go on?

Apparently, battling a Death Walker and traveling to London wasn't enough to make him think, "Hey. I could probably die for real here, maybe I should make a plan before charging in." or "You know, Ren has just traveled with me to London, away from

Alex Sennefer, a twelve-year-old boy, is on a mission to get rid of five Death Walkers and find his missing mother. Soon after he and his best friend Ren defeat the Stung Man in New York, strange things begin happening in London. It is raining blood, priceless products are stolen, and people are disappearing. Only Alex and Ren suspect that a Death Walker is responsible for all of this. They fly to London, where Egyptologist Dr. Aditi helps the two friends start their mission, until she is killed ...more

I didn't like this one as much as the first book in the series, but it was still good. The stakes are definitely raised and I enjoyed that very much. However, Alex is almost insufferable in this one. The level of ego he develops is incredibly annoying and as a result he puts a lot of people in danger.

I really enjoy how these books incorporate Egyptian mythology and artifacts into the story. There are a lot of standard tropes: Ren-the bookish girl who just wants to help, Alex- the boy who has bee
Alex is back and is dragging his friend along, this time to London, where they are supposedly going as junior interns to a British museum keeper. In reality, they are continuing the quest for Alex's mother, and to return the awakening dead to their long sleep. Using the magic in the amulet that was left behind when Alex's mother disappeared, they conquer some of their foes, only to find that their efforts are not always successful.

During the trip, the make new friends, and find that they have h

Ren and Alex take their quest to find Alex's mom in London after she went missing back in the United States. She used a spell from the Book of the Dead and The Lost Spells to bring Alex back from death, but in doing so, unleashed The Death Walkers. Now, Alex must find her.

Book 2 of the Tomb Quest series. My son and I read this one together and we didn't like it near as much as the original book that led off the series. A ridiculous airplane scene at the beginning of the book nearly ruined the whole thing for us (really, it would have taken 10 minutes for the author or an editor to ask an airline pilot to get even the basics correct on that....even kids know that you don't steer an airplane on the ground using the yolk, you use your feet on the rudder pedals or th ...more

Book #51 Read in 2015
Tombquest 2: Amulet Keepers by Michael Northrop

This is the second book in a young adult adventure series. Alex, his friend Ren and his cousin Luke are in London to find the second Death Walker and see if they can locate Alex's mother. They are almost immediately in danger and need to work together in order to survive. This series has a lot of Egyptian connection in it and its plot has lots of twists and turns to keep readers engaged. The third book comes out in the fall. I r
