At first, teenager Annabeth Prescott thinks she’s found quite a deal when she talks down the price of an ankh pendant she discovers at a flea market. She soon wonders if the bauble is more than she's bargained for when she faints and glimpses images from a past life in ancient Egypt.

The discovery coincides with another new find: Gabriel, a handsome young man who takes an

"Review to come" Oh hey look I actually wrote the review!

I received this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

So, as a huge Ancient Egyptian fan I was more than excited to read this book. I absolutely love history (hell, I just started uni where I plan to major in it), and it was Ancient Egypt that got me into it. So yeah, I was more than excited for this book.

The first thing I'd like to point out that I noticed was that everything jumped around. Nothing followed a set plot th

Annabeth Neverending was a book I went into not quite knowing what to expect. I'd read the synopsis so I understood the plot idea, but I wasn't sure whether I would either love it or not. I have read a book before that had similarities to this one, called Years and an Ocean by Jo Noelle. In that book it also deals with the idea of a character who can travel backwards and forwards in time and is connecting with someone there who is going through a similar situation as to themselves, except it is ...more

I give this book 5 fangs

A fantastic YA read that had me hooked from the start. It combines facts and lore from ancient Egypt as well as love, adventure and plenty of teen angst. I found Annabeth to be relatable and real she takes everything that's happening in stride, and it's a lot that's going on.
I enjoyed reading about her struggle and growth as she is trying to figure out her feelings between the two young men who have captured her heart in different ways C. J . and Gabriel.

The Gist

I still have quite a few books sitting on my “to-read” NetGalley shelf, so I thought now is just as good a time to finally check them out and review them as any other.

In the past, I would have a few weeks off during which I had enough time to get super excited about new books and then schoolwork would catch up with me again, putting my readin

Annabeth Prescott stumbles upon an ankh pendant at a flea market. the second she touches it, she sees visions of herself as a princess in ancient Egypt. Annabeth is perplexed yet entranced by her experience. meeting twin brothers makes Annabeth even more bewildered when her "ancient" past catches up with her present life.

I give this book 3.5/5 stars.

I really enjoyed the idea of this debut novel by Lela Kader Dahm. The description and cover is what lead me to ultimately choose this book to read.

What I liked about the book was the setting, characters, and mythology mixed within. I enjoyed the parts of the book where Annabeth has her flashbacks, and then the consequences she has to deal with because of the ankh. It was interesting to see how the author made ancient Egypt pop out in present day Maine. The character

Annabeth Neverending is a young adult paranormal historical romance. Yes, that is a lot of genres. Narrated in first person present tense by Annabeth, interspersed between flashbacks to her previous life as Ana, daughter of Ramses II, it tells of a girl's struggle between two guys th

5 of 5 stars! I am not usually into the reincarnation kind of plot, but the way the author twisted it and how it was written, she had me sold from the start! I was up and down. People! Gabriel was my favorite from the moment he was introduced. C.J. . . . He is as slimy as his ancient self. I skipped ahead . . . there came a point where the author makes you believe the opposite of what you were led to believe, and I wanted to give myself some reassurance, because I was about to lose my mind over ...more

Wow, what a story! The author weaves together ancient Egyptian history with modern teen angst in an entertaining and suspenseful read. The main character's two personas develop nicely over the course of the book, and her conflicted relationships with Gabriel and C.J. add depth to her struggles.
I really appreciated the details on ancient Egypt--informative and educational, but not heavy-handed. I felt like I was learning as Annabeth was. And the ending was exactly right--suspenseful and unexpect

Not only did I instantly fall in love with the story, I also fell hard for the author's creativity, story telling abilities and the magnificent work with her characters and world building.

I never got lost between the Anna of the present and the Anna of ancient Egypt and I was pleasantly surprised between the outcomes of Gabriel and C. J. I was transported ever so effortlessly to Egypt of old and loved how I felt like I was there as the author captured all of my senses.

I did dislike how Anna did

It was okay. I liked the premise and I liked the use of Ancient Egypt, oddly mirrors a dream I had in middle school.
The characters where okay and it got straight into the action but I think it started to quickly. There was an instant love kind of thing that annoyed me and bits that just made no sense to me and made me question what I was like at 16.
I pretty much guessed what was going to happen really accurately from half way but it was fine. I wouldn't read it again but it was a cute-ish stor

Thanks to Leyla and NetGalley for this free review copy! Annabeth Neverending is available for purchase now.

Full disclosure: I read this book while recovering from wisdom teeth removal. However, I still don’t think that that impacts just how rough the first part of this book was. The romance–and the way Annabeth talks about the romance–was sometimes uncomfortable. While it began to redeem itself in the middle, the endi

This book had the potential to be incredible. The story-line is fantastic, something you could be truly enamoured with. Yet the author chose to target it towards young adults, caking it with cliches and cheesiness. There were some great aspects of this book that I'd have loved the author to delve more into, such as insight into Annabeth's sleepwalking problem. The condition is so bad that she has to be strapped down at night - I'd have very much liked to learn more about that even though that is ...more

Though this book wasn't written for my demographic, I had a friend who really loved this book and suggested I read it. I complied with her request and was happy I did. The book is a great blend of historic fiction, fantasy, and drama. The author explores the idea of reincarnation and takes the reader on a breathtaking trip back to ancient Egypt. There, she unfolds a secondary plot line that ultimately collides with the main one to bring the story to its dramatic climax and surprising resolution. ...more

Kind of figured things out early on. Really wanted to smack Annabeth because really?

And that ending? I don't even know why that happened. Just weirdness. And it leaves us with one question. A question I'm not going to ask here, just in case someone reads this, I don't want to give away anything. But seriously?

This was a really entertaining book, I really enjoyed the way the author went back to Egypt and then to current times. I didn't see the end twist that the author put in the last few pages!! I really liked Annabeth's character it was very funny she was not a frilly girl she was real and true to her self. This story had a great plot and had lots of twist.

I had high hopes for Annabeth Neverending, but it wasn't to be. Even in the first couple of chapters, it's clear that the author hasn't written this book very well. The main character, Annabeth, finds out that she can embody her previous reincarnation as the daughter of a pharaoh of Ancient Egypt. The setting is very interesting and from what I've read from other reviews, that is the highlight in an otherwise lacking story. Annabeth quickly accepts that she is a reincarnation of her past selv

A fun, quick read. It was a little 'expected'. It ended slightly on a different plain than where I thought it was going, but the same basic idea that I sort of figured out half way through. It's really a 3.5*, but I would have given it a solid 4 if we hadn't gotten bogged down in which boy she was trying to fall in love with. I got it...and by the end, you sort of understand why we took so many chapters on that, but it was pretty clear in just a couple. None-the-less, a fun story, interesting ti ...more

The Story

Annabeth isn’t the most normal 15 year old girl. She suffers with sleep walking, can’t bring herself to be coordinated enough on the cheer leader practice and has never kissed a boy before. Also, to make everything worse, she strongly suspects that her parents love her younger brother best, as she is adopted and he isn’t.

My Thoughts
I really wanted to give this book a better score. Sadly, I wasn't able to talk myself into it. The concept is interesting - it's what caught my attention in the first place - but the execution needed a little work.

My first complaint is that the characters don't exhibit enough depth. This is true of the main characters but is glaringly obvious in the peripheral characters. Towards the beginning of the novel, we hear that Annabeth has had some health scares in the past that have greatl

I jumped at the opportunity to read and review Annabeth Neverending mostly because I generally like anything that has to do with Ancient Egypt; but also because synopsis sounded quite captivating.

I am a huge fan of all things ancient Egypt, I have been ever since I was little, and I’m always on the lookout for YA stories that weave Egyptian history into the story. So I was excited to receive a review request for a book that featured a teenage girl discovering her ancient Egyptian past life.

This book follows Annabeth after she comes across a necklace at a flea market that shows her visions of her past life whenever she touches it. From there, she meets brothers Gabe and C.J., who she soon
