Never in a million years would I have pictured myself as an axe-wielding, dragon lady, chopping up multi-colored flannel shirts into my very own plaid mulch. But here I am, chopping away my frustrations.

It all started when my brother, Paul, convinced me to go on one last family road trip across the Mother Road with him and my dad.. Just like old times, right? Wrong. What P

Marley's dad Bernie and brother Paul show up in California sporting the family RV. Paul is getting married and they decided the perfect way to get him ready for the marriage is a road trip in memory of their mom in Tacy. Tacy is so named for one of the characters in The Long, Long Trailer. She is about that old also, her tire on the back is sagging, her paint is flaking. Road trip!!

The story is funny and very over the top and then after awhile the humor just kept going and going and even though I chuckled I was pushing on to find the meat of the whole book. I wanted more depth or maybe I just got tired of the humor.

Regardless, I’m getting off here in the middle of Route 66!

Marley McMann was a beauty blogger living in sunny California. Out of the blue, her brother Paul and father Bernie showed up at her doorstep and coaxed her into going for a road trip. Thus ensued a cross country trip through Route 66 in a family “beloved” 80s RV. Living in a confined space for a week was nightmarish enough, try adding an unexpected addition of a teenage crush in the form of the sexy Porter Smith the mix. The t

I have never laughed so hard while reading a book in my life. This book was absolutely hilarious. There were so many laugh-out-loud moments, there was no way I could've read this book in public. Not only is this book super funny, it's also really sweet and heartwarming. Even with this book being a bit crude and the shenanigans a bit ridiculous, the romance was really well developed, sweet and steamy. There were also a few emotional moments that really touched my heart. I really LOVED this book a ...more

Meghan Quinn writes humour that is quirky, weird, utterly hilarious and just the teeniest bit on the wrong side of fucked up – her characters are no different and with The Mother Road she not only hit the mark but raised the bar on what Romantic Comedy should be completely. I was cackling like an insane person all throughout this book (when I wasn’t squirming in embarrassment for her poor characters or sniffling through the sweet moments). This, right here, is the pinnacle of Rom-Com. The summit

Did I lose weight? I swear I did, because I completely laughed my ass off reading this book. No joke, it is probably the funniest book I have ever read. The comedy in this book goes way beyond just a little snicker here and there. No, I’m talking full out, laugh-til-you-cry, roll-around-clutching-your-belly, almost-pee-your-pants kind of humor.

So, imagine you are stuck in an aging RV with your dad, your big brother, and his best friend for an entire week. These are men with beards, flannels, and

Excuse me while I try to pause my hysterical laughter long enough to write this review. It may be a touch difficult, though. Because every time I think of the ridiculous, slightly (okay, maybe more than slightly) juvenile humor, I crack up all over again. I spent a large portion of The Mother Road convulsing with laughter. In public. Yup, in the school pick-up line. At my daughter’s gymnastics. In a car park, waiting for my husband at the store. #NoRegrets. If only someone had knocked on my wind ...more

This book should come with a warning label. Do not read in areas were members of the public can see you. If you choose to ignore this warning the author cannot be held accountable for any resulting actions taken against you. For example the concerned stares as you appear to suffer from a seizure, while actually laughing so hard you fold yourself in half while holding your stomach and gasping for air. 4.5 stars!!

“This is war, you know that, right? You just started a shit storm you won’t be able to handle.”

This book was exactly what I needed after a slew of emotional, intense and suspenseful reads. I may be forty-two but even I can still relate to my childish side and this book tugged at this side of me all the way through.

The humour throughout this book is hysterical and incredibly abundant, I had a lot of tears and 99.99% of them were tears of laughter. Pra

Meghan Quinn, where have you been all of my life? Why are you so ridiculously amazing at this writing thing? How am supposed to go on reading when my world has now learned of your existence? The Mother Road is my first book from this talented author. And it will not be my last. I have the urge to exhaust my debit card and buy all of her novels and spend an entire 24 hours binging off of the greatness.

This book is grade A. It is everything you will ever need in a romantic comedy. It's gut busting

I think everyone should read this book.

I was that blown away by this amazing book, and not just me, I have no doubt that everyone who reads it would instantly love it.

Who doesn’t want to read a story which can make them laugh yet still hold deep meaning at the same time.

Meghan Quinn is a fantastic writer. In my opinion, writing a good romcom is probably one of the hardest genres to write in. How do you know whether others will find it funny as much as you found it funny whilst writing the story?

Meghan Quinn has delivered another huge hit with this book!

The Mother Road is full of the whit, humor and quirky comebacks that Meghan has become known for in her books. But this book will also have you feeling a little melancholy and tearing up – no, not from my laughter but from honest, heartfelt moments.

You know what the book is about, so I won’t rehash that. But I will tell you that Meghan has written some fantastic characters that are so well-rounded and awesome. They are real, honest and d

So far, this is my FAVORITE book of 2016. I just cannot get over how good it was. Only Meghan Quinn manages to make me laugh so hard I'm in danger of peeing myself, only to turn me into a sobbing, blubbering mess a few pages later.
"The Mother Road" is a tremendously charming, witty, funny, sweet and sexy second chance romance.
It's the type of book to make me sad that the characters weren't real, because every single one of them was likable in their own quirky way.
And there was a lot of quirkiness between Paul and Marley, their father and Paul's best friend, Porter as they

The first reason why I was drawn to The Mother Road was the cover. Yep, really. I am a cover slut after all and this one? Pweeeeety.

OMG Meghan Quinn has found a new fan in me. I really enjoyed reading this romantic comedy book. I loved the fact that this story is different, but at the same time it still had a lot of the things I like. I found myself laughing out loud, and grinning as I read some of the wild things this family does on a road trip from California to Upstate New York in Tacy the family RV. The characters were memorable, sweet, and crazy as hell and I loved them.

I loved this book so much! I was recommended the book by a fellow reader and it was an amazing recommendation. I don't think I have laughed so hard with a book in forever. It was everything you thought a family road trip story should be, but the amazing thing about it is how the author wrote so you felt like you were actually on the trip with them. I love road trip books and brothers best friend storylines so I wasn't surprised I enjoyed this. I thought this was really funny, especially at the start but I think you need to be in the right mindset to read it...if you went into this in a crappy mood, I think you would roll your eyes at the OTT humour but if you're in a good mood, you're in for a real treat because the first part of this book is genius.

Okay, let me preface this review with this: I’ve never read a Meghan Quinn book. Like never ever. You can bet your sweet face that I will read whatever she puts out from here on out and I’m going to back and read some of her others.
