N.W. Harris The Last Orphans:

Enslaved is book three in The Last Orphans series by N.W. Harris. This book was generously provided to me by the author for an honest review.

Where do I even start? From the very beginning of this series, we have gotten to know and respect Shane, Kelly, and their friends. They have persevered through so many horrific circumstances. But throughout it all, Shane has kept his head. He never wanted to be the leader of all the young survivors. But from the beginning, they all looked to him.

In one of the best young adult science fiction, post-apocalyptic series out there with the ability to enthrall all ages and genders, N.W. Harris’ The Last Orphans has new addition! Enslaved continues the saga of what happens when all of the adults are gone and only the children remain.

Against all odds, one group under the leadership of Shane and his friends have stood against aliens attempting to “harvest” the children of Earth to be bound into slavery, empty slates to be programmed to fight an

4.5 intense stars!!!

First off, I have to admit that I had to go back to the previous book just to check how it all ended. You may want to do that too if you feel like you don't distinctly remember what happened. It'll make reading the third book more clear. I was lost for a few minutes there. Anyway, it all started falling into place and gosh! It's still as action packed and still as fast paced as ever!

The plot directly picks up from where it left off in the second book. I felt so bad for every

Holy cow! Are you kidding me? Shane and crew once again leave me hanging, desperately wanting for more!

Honestly, when Mr. Harris contacted me about reading and reviewing book 3 of the Last Orphans series, I did little happy dance, as it had been a while, and I truly love both this story and its characters. Shane, Kelly, Anfisa, and even Lilly and Jones have become like old friends to me. I actually missed them! So I was both thrilled and humbled to be asked again for my review.

What has struck me about the first two books in this series is an element that continues in this third installment: its cinematic nature. Reading it, it's so easy to see all of this action and suspense being adapted for a screen, big or small. That is due to the vast amount of imagination that has gone into creating this world and in describing such catastrophic events, as well as in continuing to foster an overall tone that is dark, suspenseful, and unceasingly foreboding.

This book, much like

Recap to Book 3

This YA series is Sci-Fi/Apocalyptic with clean language, but plenty of violence. The first book has a gang-rape scene to set the destructive mood, but that device is only used once in the series thus far. It transitions into a character-driven adventure

Enslaved is a truly extraordinary continuation to the heart-pounding, soul-wrenching quest of Shane and his friends. This is one series that has sucked me in from the very first word, thoroughly wound itself around my heart, and ingrained itself into my very soul. You can’t walk away the same, and your entire worldview will be flipped upside down. There is nothing like a story that sends shockwaves to your mind and strips your heart down to its core. This is a monumental, epic journey that will ...more

Shane and his friends managed to survive the first major attack against the enemy. They destroyed the alien ships that came to harvest the children of Earth and turn them into slaves. The ship that Kelly was on is the one ship that managed to escape. Shane is determined to do whatever it takes to save Kelly but if he turns his back on his friends he takes the chance of jeopardizing the whole mission.

Kelly’s mind is invaded by the enemy and she is turned into a slave soldier. Any order th

Wow. Enslaved is the third book in the last orphans series and it does not disappoint. The story picks up where the harvest left off and brings in a new character's point of view. The story follows Shane and Kelly as they try to get back to each other and fight off the invasion that is still going on.
I found this book a little darker than the rest but not in a bad way. N.W. Harris does a great job of making you see the

Wonderful book I had to work out what happened in book 2 as didn't read that book so as I can see the kids survived and ended up with a race of aliens that helped the kids learn to fight the other aliens that have come to enslave the kids and make them fight in they're wars. Enslaved by Harris is a YA story that is third in the series of the Last Orphans. The main character is Shane and we are given insights into his thoughts, no doubt based on post-traumatic disorder. His driving force is the release of his girlfriend, Kelly, as he leads his small band towards this goal. Meanwhile, Kelly has been captured by the Anunnaki who give her a slave persona. Can she break away from it? Will she find her true self in time? There is some time spent in a submarine by Shane, m ...more

Enslaved is the third novel in a fantastic YA science fiction post-apocalyptic series by N.W. Harris. This book continues the story of what happens when all the adults in the world die and only children are left. I really don't want to give anything away in case anyone wants to start reading the first one (highly recommended by the way) so all I will say is that Enslaved is a smooth transition from the second novel which is not easy to do sometimes. I love the story line which keeps getting bett ...more

Like the first two books in this series, this book is a great read, though not one for those with weak stomaches. If you can handle gory descriptions, however, then you will be able to see that it's a well-written book, with a plot that moves at a nice pace, believable characters who grow and evolve as the series progresses, and wonderfully detailed descriptions.

Man. Man oh man! What a book for the first of the year! This whole series has been action packed, and Enslaved did NOT disappoint! Action, adventure, and whole new trials for the gang to suffer and persevere through, it was another that I had a hard time putting down. Bob's Favorites of 2016 is off to a great and early start! And those kids, man...those masked kids...creepy as heck. Those guys are gonna stay with me for a while....

Action. Check. Aliens. Check. Butt kicking teens. Check. A thrilling follow up to the first two books, Enslaved finds our teenaged heros split up. One group trapped in an alien ship and enslaved. The other group on Earth trying to rind a way to defeat the aliens and set their friends free.

Definitely a must read series. Great plot, great characters. Can't wait for the next book!

I received this book to give an honest review.

I have to say this one was not my favorite. It felt like it took me forever to read it and truly invest within the story line. I am not sure really what happened but this story did not work for me in the series like the others did.

I would highly suggest that if you have read book two and it has been a while that you maybe go back to that one and read the last chapter so you are not lost on this one.

So now the enemy has taken hostage a few of the sol
What the what?!? I thought this was the conclusion of this series. There's one more (at least)?! Effff. Not sure I can stand anymore Shane/Kelly stuff. For one thing he acts like she's his soulmate. They never even were together, not really. Ugh. I get it, teenage lust can be powerful, but it's also not the be all end all and the focus on it in this book was super annoying. Let's hope the next one doesn't focus so heavily on it but I doubt it...

This book should be called "Last Orphans:Shane Pouts on a submarine"

I really rarely buy books, preferring to use kindle unlimited or borrow but I paid for both 1 &2. Gave them 4 stars.

This book, however, is pointless. We spend half the book following an Annunaki general, who is not sympathetic enough to make you feel differently about the invaders. Kelly's scenes are Super informative but she's under the slave gene influence and basically rides around like a passenger

I received a copy of Enslaved from the author, N.W. Harris, for an honest review. The story was my compensation. Nothing else.

You know that feeling. I know you do. It's when you have a good book in your hands. You have followed these characters in two previous books which seemed to go too fast. So, you decide to take your time with the third. Except, the only way to take your time is to just stop reading for a few days. Know what I mean? I thought you did.

This was the third book and Shane and his friends have been through hell. Now, with Kelly and a few other team members stuck on one of the ships, they are trying tirelessly to come up with a rescue mission. Picking up right after the conclusion of book two, Enslaved continues the story line of The Last Orphans series, and it's a great continuation of the series. At this point, if I had to rank them in order of favorites, I think Enslaved could make a strong argument to be my favorite so far, along with the first book – The Last Orphans, which has several scenes that I still remember, three books in. For starters I really liked this series. BUT I though it was a trilogy - and although I'm really excited there is more to come - I'm so impatient. I usually don't start a series until all the books are out because I hate waiting to find out what happens next - but now I have to. And I will wait. Even though I'm mad about it. Because I like this series. A lot.

This was the 3rd book in The Last Orphans series which seems to bring our "heroes" back to their new "home" and seems to hint at a greater force destroying all the Aunnaki "people" and returning all the orphans to a more sane state of mind- removing their killing mode aka the "slave gene.
Hoping that the slave gene will be removed from all the new former human new Aunnaki soldiers.

The author indicates that there will be a 4th book to the series-this book was published in December of 2015 so I'm s

Action, heartbreak, action, aliens and more action. Enslaved, book3 of The Last Orphans series, will have you crying, laughing and on the edge of your seat the whole way throughout. After the first two books I shouldn't be surprised by the high caliber of this book but Harris truly is a phenomenal writer! Of you haven't read The Last Orphans or The Harvest yet then you NEED too! Finally! Hanging in to get to the third book in the series paid off. I could tell the writing was getting better bit by bit, and by book 3 I think he's found his groove. The world building became more elaborate, the plot more fleshed out, and the characters better developed. Making this a fun fast-paced sci-if to spend an afternoon wth.
