**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This book is the third in a series and can very much be read as a stand alone story without feeling like you have missed half the story of any other characters. You get the information on them that you need.

It has a very light Christian theme through out the book that you hard notice it until the character talk about praying.

It is also a very clean romance with only a little kissing, nothing heavy at all for those

When I was offered the chance to read Rescue Me in exchange for an honest review, the book description intrigued me. I enjoy inspirational novels and this sounded like it would be different than what is the norm for that sub-genre. I thoroughly enjoyed Rescue Me.

Torie Walker is on Christmas vacation from her job as a police officer in San Diego. She’s come to Lake Tahoe to stay at her best friend’s cabin while Aimee is on her honeymoon. She met Aimee’s brother-in-law, Keith Scott

This was a perfect story to read to start off the Christmas holidays. A very emotional, slightly suspenseful story with a dash of faith. So, if you're looking for a hot and steamy read and if you are not a fan of any type of Christian fiction this book is not for you. This is the third installment of this series but I was able to read this easily as a stand alone.
This story takes place during Christmas. Torie is taking a break during the holidays to go and stay at a friends cabin while they are

Happy Release Day to this new book by Lara Van Hulzen! "Rescue Me" is the third book in the Men of Honor series. I don't think you need to read the other books to follow this one but I think it would help enhance your reading experience to have some back story on the characters. Besides, if you haven't read the first two books, you are missing out! This is such a fun series and I have loved reading every book.

Keith and Torie are both such strong characters yet there is a vulnerability to them as

I read the second book in his Men of Honor series a few months ago, and I have been eagerly awaiting Rescue Me ever since. I just knew that Torie and Keith were going to have an amazing story and I couldn’t wait to see how it was going to play out. I was definitely not disappointed.

This book picks right back up at the Scott family Ranch, just before Christmas. Aimee and Dane have headed off on their honeymoon and Torie is spending her holiday in their cabin on the ranch. We later figure out that

Oh boy, do I love wounded cowboy stories! And Lara Van Hulzen's last book in her Men of Honor Series is no exception.

Torie is a familiar character for those who have followed along with Van Hulzen's entire series. She starts out in book 1, Remember Me, and finally gets her happily ever after in book 3. Her tough cop exterior has made her a strong character from the beginning, but in this story we get to see into the darker corners of her soul as she faces an old enemy - a very personal one. It w

I expected a lovely romance novel and that is exactly what I got but there were so many bonus’ throughout the book. While romance was not on Keith or Torie’s mind it was obvious from their first meeting that there was something between them. Both were cautious, which I loved. Keith and Torie both took it one day at a time, which I loved. They did not just fall into lust or bed with each other. As a matter of fact they did not sleep together at all during the entire book. This was so refreshing t ...more

Firstly I would like to thank the lovely author for reaching out to me and providing me with a copy of "Rescue Me" to read and review.

Van-Hulzen is a newbie author for me, but from what I've read in "Rescue Me" I'd gladly read more of her breathtaking work.

So seen as I've come in at the half way point, it's safe to say that I will be reading books 1 & 2, not that it matters, as the 3rd I believe can be read as a stand-alone, but I would like to read the others so I can see how Torie & Ke

Torie and Keith are both damaged in their own ways, Torie through her difficult upbringing (understatement) and Keith through his overseas services with the Marines. Their respective pasts means they are both hesitant about entering into a romantic relationship, despite the sizzling chemistry between them. There is also the faith aspect: Keith believes in God, but Torie hasn’t got to that place yet despite attending church with a friend.

Rescue Me is Christian romance, but a little more edgy than

Lara Van Hulzen is new-to-me author. Rescue Me is the 3rd book in the Men of Honor series, yet read well as a stand-alone story. Rescue Me is also a sweet inspirational romance.

I adored both Torie and Keith as individuals and as they moved toward being a couple. Both are such strong characters yet they each had secrets from their pasts that kept them from finding happiness. I did feel that it seemed like anything that could have every happened to a person, had happened to Torie, so that was a bi

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the Men of Honor series by Lara Van Hulzen. It is so refreshing to read love stories about men who have honor, who love God, who treat women with love and respect. The men in this series are the kind of me I want for my daughters. While fiction is a chance for escape, I really do enjoy reading a love story where the couple has the morals I believe in - a relationship that is passionate, but also clean.

Torie and Keith's story is amazing. They certainly are made f

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?

Keith and Torie both have baggage, and quite a bit of it. I wish I'd read the previous two books to see how these two met, but it back tracks a little bit and gives us enough info that this book stands alone just fine.

Keith just makes you feel safe. Even though he's fictional, you can feel his fictional presence. Is that even a thing? Well.. it is now. Torie really grew as a character as she expanded her comfort zone to include more people and learned to trust

Sweet, clean romance! I thought this book was like some of the romance novels I used to read: Low drama/angst, characters don't jump into bed after their 1st meeting, and they handle problems like adults (GASP!). If you enjoy New Adult, this isn't a book for you. If you enjoy contemporary romance but don't like the poor moral decision, excessive sex, and general unlikability of the characters, you will enjoy this book! The characters are well written, mature, and deal with issues and struggles l ...more
