As bassist of the Devil’s Share, Smith James revels in being the ultimate bad boy, until he meets a good girl…who likes it dirty.

Smith James doesn’t need drugs. He just likes them a whole lot. And as bassist for the Devil’s Share, they are easy to come by. So are the women. With a steady supply of both he doesn’t have to think too hard about his p

He behaved as the ultimate bad boy, fierce, self-destructive, addicted to booze and pills and nameless, faceless sex. He grew up in a cold world where kindness or gentleness was non-existent, where a fist was more powerful than a hug and no one expected anything but failure from him. But deep within Smith was a shell of a lonely man, unsure of how to accept love, positive any love he could give someone would be tainted, but he was trying to clean up his act, for the band, himself and HER.

I was beyond excited about getting my hands on this new installment in The Devil's Share series. I fell hard for Lexi in the first book. I know, right? You expected me to mention the sexy rockstars and it's a girl I bring up. Sorry, but I have a BIG girl-crush on her. As you either already know, or will soon find out, "If Lexi ain't happy, ain't nobody happy" and "To Lexi the world was her recliner." She's sweet, funny, and badass when it's called for. She has those rocke

To be honest- this book bored me. It dragged and I couldn't wait to be done with it.

What didn't work for me:
1. Smith- I couldn't gauge his age, I couldn't picture what he looked like, and he still seemed like an immature kid in my mind from book one.
2. H/h relationship- I bought his end of it but not hers. I could see how he felt and worked to keep what he wanted but she didn't ring true to me.
3. Sex. Way too much annoying sex. Book one who was about the biggest manwhore didn't have much deta

I absolutely loved Smith and Dylan!! Dylan was a strong woman not looking to fix anyone but here comes along smith needing fixed but she didn’t take it upon herself to fix him..she knew he needed to do it on his own and realize. I feel like the trial could have made the book a little longer but glad to get some kind of closure. And holy cow the ending set up the next book PERFECTLY!!!!

Disclaimer: I received as an ARC courtesy of Boroughs Publishing Group via Give Me Books in exchange for an honest review

What does one do with a broken, barely hanging on rockstar and a stiff physician assistant who needs to be taught to let loose? Well according to L.P. Maxa’s Play Dirty, you place said physician assistant in close proximity with said rockstar who’s sex appeal is off the charts and let their personalities and pheromones (as Dylan likes to say) take control and play the game

How can you NOT fall for Smith. I have to be honest and say I saw Dylan with Luke when she was first introduced but seeing how her and Smith meshed and fit so perfectly, I take that back.

Their past played off each other and her experience with drugs, secrets, and loss is what made for balance that would keep him on track. The little games, sexual frustration, and The Walking Dead marathon is what helped keep the darkness at bay and make the secret zipper invalid. That is just what he needed, som

Dylan can sure be a handful, “Dylan, if you wanted to cop a feel, all you had to do was ask.” I was trying to make light of the situation, which wasn’t easy considering that Dylan had just rolled off the couch and landed right on top of my nut sack." Smith can be such a romantic, “the first time? The first time I want all night, no interruptions.” I shrugged. “After that we can eff on the bus like rabbits.” I freaking loved Dylan that girl was entertaining as hell, “it’s fine, babe. Another great Devil's Share book! I LOVE hot rockers and these guys definitely fit the bill.
I think of the Queen song Another One Bites the Dust when I think of Smith. A badboy manwh#re changed by love. Actually he was saved by Love!
Dylan was perfect for him and I was so worried he would hurt her and couldn't change. But she had faith in him and they made it!
That ending OH BOY or should I say GIRL!!! I cannot wait for Jacks book

I received this book as an ARC for a honest review. This book was read and reviewed by Stacy Aube for Cutting Muse Blog Review.

Dylan goes on tour with the band as Lexi's personal physician assistant due to her pregnancy. Smith is the guitarist for the band. Lexi tells him to leave Dylan alone.

Dylan is crushing on Smith but is his past to much for her to accept? Smith wants to try but can he change his ways.

Absolutely loved this story and can't wait to see what is next.

Wasn't my favorite.... it's just a bit darker than the other 2 in the series... yes, I read them out of order but I'll read them again in order...
Play dirty is book two in the devils share series. I have read this book before but the review seems to have disappeared. As I have just re read this series, I thought I would do a short review.

We first met Smith and learned of his issues with drugs in book one. We also met Dylan at the end of book one as she is Lexi’s PA. Dylan and Smith are perfect for one another. Smith is a loving and caring man but in a way, he is broken, he has demons. Dylan is bossy and she has her own rules she doesn’t

Finding your inner strength with true love

Smith and Dylan’s love story is a crazy roller coaster of emotions. When Smith sees Dylan for the first time, he feels an undeniable pull towards her. When Dylan sees Smith for the first time she feels that same pull but fights it due to his reputation and her need to feel professional. Their attraction to each other is undeniable. She helps him find the light he’s been missing, and he helps her open her heal after a broken heart. One of my favorite thou

LOVED this book just as much as the first one in the series. In this story you're introduced to Dylan and her love story with Smith, the ultimate bad boy of rock and roll. You follow Smith through his addictions and then see him overcome them all for his love for the girl who he wanted to change for. Throw in some hot sex, some crazy drama & a packed tour bus, and you're in for a right treat. I couldn't get enough of this book or this series!

So glad this series was highly recommended to me!

Best book ever, until next i guess, lol! Seriously loved Dylan she was quite the shocker, with constantly revealing layers of a very admirable gf/PA.

I love this series

It’s a great series with relatable elements. It’s slightly predictable, you know when an incident is going to happen but it’s totally unpredictable as to what is going to happen. This one was totally awesome

A good, quick read. Rock star Smith meets Doctor Dylan and they get together pretty quickly. It was a nice level of tension with a gritty rock story thrown in. I enjoyed it and will read the others.

Play Dirty is the second book in the Devil's Share series by L.P. Maxa. Before reading the first book in the series, Play Nice, I hadn't read anything by L.P. Maxa, but that book made me an instant fan. Maxa's writing is fun and sexy, and I love the emotions that she is able to bring out as well. So when I finished Play Nice, I couldn't wait to get more of these sexy rockstars. Though I am still really partial to Lexi and Dash, I enjoyed Dyla

***ARC was given for an honest review.***

This was my first L.P. Maxa book and I am so glad it didn’t disappoint! I wasn’t expecting anything so imagine my surprise when I found it very heartwarming, deep and so funny.

Play Dirty kept me clicking through my Kindle because I couldn’t wait what happened next to Smith and Dylan. Smith was The Devil’s Share bassist while Dylan was the kind of medical assistant to Lexi (who’s preggerz with Dash’s (The Devil’s Share vocalist) kid).

So I REALLY liked this book, but I just couldn't give it the full 5 stars because I just can't help comparing it to the first book in the series Play Nice I loved that book so much that it took me a while to even pick this book up because I didn't want to read about anyone other than Dash and Lexi.

Although Smith really grabbed my heart in the first book so I was eager to read his story. Smith has been fighting demons his whole life. Coming from a family of drug users, and an abusive father, he

Sex. Drugs. Rock n Roll.
Yeah, we have heard it before. It’s so cliché, but it’s true of this story. I love rock star romance. It’s a favorite subgenre. However, in my history of reading rock star romances, many authors manage to create a hero who is mainly “anti-drug use” and that’s what I have come to expect when reading.
“Once upon a time, in a faraway land of booze and p***y lived a sexy badass bass guitarist...”
The hero of this story is Smith James, a recreational drug user who has the hots f

Every time I step onto a tour bus (aka start a new rock star romance) I get excited. The delicate balance of the band's chaos and the budding romance makes for some of my favorite story telling. I love it all. The musicians. Their lovers. The mischievous hijinks and crazy ass groupies. When it's done right, it's awesome.

I thought Play Dirty was a fun and sexy read - I absolutely devoured this story. I felt giddy during all the sneaky moments of lust. I was swooning at the stolen, tender scenes.

Well ... Where do i start? Im still buzzing with happiness after reading this book!
From the beginning of the book when a beautiful Dylan Lawson steps onto the tour bus of 'The Devils Share' and her eyes locked on the hot and very sexy bassist Smith James, i was hooked!
Dylan is a physicians assistant hired by Dash (the band's lead singer) to 'take care' of his pregnant girlfriend Lexi.
Jacks is the guitarist and a huge playboy with the fans he also likes his drink and may i say recreational drugs

Play Dirty is the second book in The Devil's Share books by L.P. Maxa. You know when you read just the first few pages and already know you're going to love the book? The writing is fluid and fluent and immediately captures your interest. That's how these books are. I love them.

Smith is the bassist for the band The Devil's Share and he has a tortured past that he struggles to cope with. He drowns his inner turmoil in pills, coke and groupies.

Omg I loved this book. I could not put it down. The characters were well written and the story line was great. You got to read back and forth from Smith and Dylan. It was easy to follow along. It wrapped up everything you needed to know in this book. The ending did have a little bit of a cliff hanger and already has me itching for the next book. It involved one of the other band mates. I can't wait to see how everything plays out with Lexi and Dash. And then with Luke and his feelings towards Le ...more

Rock Stars have always been my weakness, and OMG I'm so glad to discover a new series! Play Dirty is FANTASTIC!

Smith James is the bassist for the famous band, Devil's Share. He tells himself he doesn't need drugs, he just likes them a bunch. His childhood was hard, with a nightmare family, and even though he has a new family, the darkness is not gone. Dylan Lawson is a medical PA, and comes on tour to take care of the lead singer's pregnant girlfriend. It doesn't hurt that they have become frie

This book was sweet and sexy, with just enough drama and secrets to keep me intrigued, but not enough to overload my nervous system. I sort of developed a love for both of the characters. Everybody loves a sexy, southern rock star who meets the right woman and reforms his man-whorish ways to become good enough for the woman he believes deserves better. Smith thinks he doesn't do romance, but he SO does. He will have you swooning. I loved Dylan's take no crap attitude. She had me smiling and almo ...more

I live in Austin, Texas with my husband, daughter, 3 rescue dogs, 1 cat, and one bunny (that doesn't seem to like us). I love reading romance novels as much as I love writing them. I feel like inspiration can come from anywhere; a song lyric, a quote, a weekend with friends. The tiniest things can spark amazing stories.
