I Don't Look Like What I've Been Through 2

Rate this book
Our favorite couple Brandon and Kierra are back but are they able to let their love shine bright or is the enemy still casting that dark cloud over their lives? It should be easy to be in a relationship when you start off as friends or does the friendship block you from reaching a deeper connection intimately? Two can’t walk together unless they agree but it seems like the distractions of life and an ex can cause you to reconsider what you though you knew.

Dez is home and ready to pick up where he left off with Kierra. There’s just one problem in the way, Brandon. The way Dez is set up, he enjoys a challenge and will stop at nothing to get his victim and their daughter back where he thinks they belong. Soon he will really understand what it means to touch not God’s anointed.

Every parent loves telling their children to honor thy mother and thy father but love to leave out the part where it says not to provoke your children. Has Tamika finally grown up to become the mother she should have always been to Kierra or will her love for Dez continue to force them further apart?

Brandon’s father Dennis has been able to get his life back on track for his family by putting the bottle down. He just decided to pick up something else that makes him risk losing it all again. Is Brandon strong enough to be there for his mother as well as his new family with this setback?

Look into the lives of these characters one final time as God shifts and transitions them. Some for the good and some for the bad as we find out if their end result will have them looking like what they’ve been through or not.

Great read

This book was so good, I am glad that Brandon and Kiki got their happily ever after. It was great how even tho her mama tried to break her, she still had love in her heart for her. This 2 book series is a must read.

This was a great and relatable read. Besides the typos and such, I feel like there should be a book 3. I have so many unanswered questions. Real talk, this book is an eye opener for those whom might be dealing with some of the same issues.

So Touching

Man this story was just too good. I love Brandon and Kierra so much. Kierra went through so much in her life, abusive Ex-husband and a mama she love with everything but could care less about her. I'm so glad she was able to seek the love that Brandon was trying l to give her after all of these years. Now Nard that man was heaven sent and meant every word when it came to protecting his family. Still don't agree he should have sent Dez to Tamika after his goons nearly beat the breaks off him. Tamika was so hell bent on Dez that she never realized how abusive he was until the end. And the end is usually when it too late. Eva and Dennis's story was not what I expected. Eva went through the ringer with only for him to cheat, my goodness. I truly enjoy this story, wish it didn't end, but all good things sometime have too. Great Job Jenica.

Sometimes you have to love folks from a distance

Dennis got soooooo many chances, Eva was too good. Looking forward to what happens to them. Dennis just got comfortable with Eva always forgiven he thought he could do anything to her. Sometimes you have to love folks from a distance. Eva gotta stop thinking Brandon is judging her & understand no kid wants to see 1 parent hurting the other. His reaction to his father didn't bother me! Brandon & Kierra relationship was so interesting from the friends to lovers, happy she realized how the 1st relationship was effecting her current 1. Dez & Tam got what they deserve. I like that Brandon is the only father Taylor knows. Nard was such a good father, liked how despite his prison stay his life was positive after.

I Don't Look Like What I've Been Through

Good story! It will keep you turning pages into the wee hours of the night. I do wish that there would have been more romance between Kierra and Brandon, at times it felt like they were only friends and not husband and wife. Also I want to see some closure when it came to Dennis and Eva, I wanted to see if they could work it out or not. I didn't like that the story ended with Eva still deciding what to do about Dennis. There definitely need to be a Eva and Dennis story.

So this book no longer exists because the author has combined the books. The same grammar errors were in this book and there are alot of unanswered questions if this is the end of this book. The story was good just not complete. Now that I finished this book if this is the last book I wouldn't tell others to read this only because there are so many unanswered questions. Other than that a good book.

I'm a little disappointed because I was hoping everyone was gonna end up happy, although I don't like how Tamika did her daughter Kiki I didn't expect her to be hurt in order to finally have a relationship with her. I'm happy Brandon and Kiki are happy and she's surrounded by nothing but love, now Dez he deserves everything he gonna get and more. I would love to see what life will continue to bring them with Kiki helping that family and her dad back in her life, Eva and Dennis, Phillip and Lauren

Part two begins where one left off. I love the fact that this author chose to take us through time with these lively characters.

Kierra's dad enters the scene just in time to make sure that Dez does not harm his family.

Dennis and Eva are one again in rocky grounds. I love the fact the Eva continued to prove that no matter for during you think you are, you agree nothing without God.

Tamika choose the wrong path and paid dearly for it. Hopefully, she sees the error of her ways and begins to live herself so that she can love others.

Another great read Ms. Johnson!

I really like Jenica's style of writing as this follow-up kept the storyline interesting & hopeful. I thought Kierra & Brandon made a wonderful couple. I also admired the positive strength shown by Nard & Brandon in protecting her. This was a dynamic 2-book series that I encourage all to read.

Beautiful

Beautifully written and kept my attention from the start of this series until the end. What a powerful and uplifting message. I loved the struggles of each couple and Nard really shocked me but it goes to show that you can't help who your heart decides to love.
