Volume 5 continues Shouto's storytelling excellence as we get to the point where Himari is deciding if she will admit her feelings to Aoi. At the same time, someone or something is meddling with the Ayakashi in very terrible ways. The Nue is going to learn some hard truths from demon Kasha in return for calling in a favor.

Story: Yukari's ties to the dragon god help Himari and the Nue heal springs that have been pollut

LOVE this manga! reminds me of XXXholic though with all the exorcisms and can't leave the house thingy. Though Yukihira can definitely leave the house.

Hands down, this is my favorite Aya Shouto series to be translated. This volume sheds light on Yukari's past while setting the stage for the story to delve deeper into matters of the heart. How human is Aoi after ten years in Momochi House? It's probably something both Himari and we readers ought to be asking ourselves.

Wow. That ending was downright cruel. The rest of the manga was fun, I suppose. It just felt like a filler. I’m disappointed.

Every time I look at the Nue’s face and then look at some other guys’, I’m like “oh wow, the Nue looks funny. Oh wait. That’s not him.” It’s a terrible let down. I’m not a fan of the stereotypical “same faces” in anime/manga that occurs so much. This is why.
• You see, the Nue is super fabulous. But with the “same faces” syndrome, ALL the guys are fabulous or elegant. It

Why is this series taking over my life?!
I was rooting for you Aoi!! We were all rooting for you! Man, that last page hurt my heart lol. I need to hurry up and get Vol. 6.

When it comes to this series, I seem to have a love/hate relationship with it. I adore the art style. Shouoto definitely knows how to draw all of the pretty anime boys. What I keep not loving is the depth of the characters. One of the things I love about reading manga, is the deep exploration we get with the characters. This one feels very surface level so far. I'm going to give it a couple more volumes to truly make up my mind about it though. It's a bit of a struggle bus for me.
That said, I lo

I don't relish the thought of reviewing just one volume in a manga series. The story continues and one volume isn't complete without having read those that come before and after it. Having said that, I certainly wouldn't have purchased any of the volumes if I wasn't extremely interested in holding on to this particular tale.

This is the first manga series I've splurged on. I love the artistry and attention to detail. The plot reached out and trapped me. Fantasy, adventure, mystery and young love

In Volume 5 of The Demon Prince of Momochi House, Himari's classmates urge her to go on a "scare dare" to a place with a mysterious laughing rock. Himari's new friend Hiyato is also urged to come. Aoi, however, doesn't like this plan.

"Scare dares" (though I have yet to hear it called that) seem to be popular in a lot of shoujo manga I have read. But I really felt this particular trip was creepier than ones I have read in other series. I also loved that you get to see more emotion from Aoi in thi

Every volume makes me love this series more. I enjoyed getting to know a little more about the spirit world that Momochi House guards and the shikigami that live there was wonderful and I am looking to the next volume.

Hayato Hidaka and Himari Momochi has been cursed with the fate of a human because no one has noticed the seal on the "laughing rock" from the oh so told tale of the love mystic. Aoi is against the idea of the scare dare on Renge Pass, and he gets very much so upset whenever he finds out they went and got cursed on Renri Pass.

Aoi forces himself to go and get help from the high level Demon Lord Ayakashi, Kasha. Aoi finds out that a human is involved and finds out that Kasha is very irritated that

With Yukari's shocking revelation in the last volume, I was wondering what this volume would bring, and yes, we do get his backstory here. In a way, I was relieved to know it wasn't what I thought, but in another way, it was heart-breaking to learn how he was brought up, as a spy to infiltrate a court, and his betrayal thereafter. When all of them go to cool off in the summer to a hidden spring tended by Yukari, we also come across the dragon who is like a parent to him, and who has been affecte ...more

It's great to binge-read manga like these...until you run out of them. I know there are more volumes published, but I have been borrowing from the library and this is the last one I had. It left on a pretty good cliffhanger.
I like that we are seeing more of Himari's school life, it is good that not everything revolves around the Demons/Ayakashi.
This was another good volume in the series and I do look forward to continuing it.

This volume has so much emotional moments with some background on one of the characters and the artstyle ugh!!! I love it so much!!!!!!!! There are some creepy/horror moments in this volume but I dont think it is anything that young teens cannot handle. There also was a lot of plot that was involved this time especially towards the end 😨need to continue on ASAP. Because of these points, I have to rate this volume a 4-4.5 out of 5 stars I'm really excited to read more from this series!

Alright, this volume gets an extra star for that awesome chapter about the water dragon. That was phenomenal. The romance drama, though, still needs work.

I love that we are getting a little more of the backstory of the shikigami that serve the Nue. But the cliffhanger on this one had me yelling a little and now I just have to get my hands on the next one!

Spoilers in this review.... I am shocked at the ending to this! Why wouldn't Aoi love Himari back!!! They are simply meant to be together. However aside from that part of the book, I was very intrigued to learn Yukari's past and how he became an ayakashi.
