I finally finished the manga of the famous anime tv series Evangelion and i must say i liked the manga alot better because of the different ending. It's a deeper series than your avarage manga. It was a series that heavy on the christian mythology, aspecially symbolic use of christian mythology. There were probably parts that i didn't understand because i don't know christianty very well as a guy who was raised as a muslim but the human side of the story was very good, that's what really imprese ...more

It's been a long time coming, but the Neon Genesis Evangelion manga finally comes to an end nineteen years after its initial debut in 1994, before the show even came out. Now I finally have it on my shelf alongside the previous four volumes in the omnibus publications of the series. Hell, I read it as soon as it arrived at my door, and I'm pretty happy with it.

We all know the story, so I'm not going to go into much detail about it, especially since this plays out similarly to how the show e

There are plot holes every where for this story! This would have made more sense to me as a teenager. Reading it as an adult is weird!

Highly commendable and highly recommendable. So!, if you've gotten this far, you're either in love with Sadamoto's interpretation of the second and third acts of Evangelion, or, you're a masochist. Either way, the final volume is pretty epic. It is at once both similar and different to the anime and will have you curious and in awe of the magnitude of not only the ending, but of the choices Shinji is called on to make and the growth of his character over the course of the manga. It moves at a li ...more

evangelion is a great series but the end of evangelion movie is one of the worst things i have ever seen, disgracing the characters and the optimistic and powerful original TV ending. The manga is much more character-centric than the anime (good, as the characters are the best part of the series) and follows the ending depicted in EoE rather than the TV ending (which would probably be impossible/pointless in a different medium anyway)... to a point. things are tweaked here and there, motivations ...more

Gorgeous artwork, but the story grinds to a halt in favour of characters yelling vague incomprehensible nonsense and things happening due to the rule of cool.

Great ending to the series. Not depressing like its anime counterpart.
