I really loved this book.

For me the mark of a good book is one that I can fly through effortlessly without realising I'm doing it. This book was very much like that. I sat down to read a chapter or two and next time I looked up I was over half way through.

I loved that it was based around a band. Over the years I've craved books like this mostly because I think they appeal to my inner teenager who loved boy bands. I loved the boys in this book and found myself swooning over them so I perfectly un

Ever daydreamed about dating a celebrity? Same. The book had two parts: the first half involved Nina jetting around as an assistant to Little Miss High Maintenance, while the second half was a bit more stationary. I personally much preferred the second half, as I got to know and connect with the boys in the band a lot more. Once they opened up, I fel
Undoubtedly, a 5 star read. So much fun, so much drama and swoons and music! Fantasy will always come first for me but books like this seriously make me doubt my genre preferences and my thoughts on Contemporary in general. There's so much I want to say about this book and how it made me feel and I can't wait to share with my full review!

In the meantime, I fell in love with a fictional boyband. Move over One Direction, because The Point are a force to be reckoned with! And Jamie Maldon is every

One thing’s for sure: I’m going to add Sophia Bennett’s name to my list of favourite contemporary authors. I bought “Love Song” on a whim because I had a long train journey ahead of me and wanted something light and funny to pass the time. But despite it’s quirky cover and blurb, “Love Song” isn’t really the kind of book I was expecting. It’s a light read, but it’s not necessarily a funny book even though there are some adorable moments. It’s close to being perfect Young Adult fiction though. I ...more

This was actually super enjoyable. I didn't think it would be. I was expecting it to be super cliche and a little cringe-inducing. But I thoroughly enjoyed it and really love Bennett's writing. Will definitely read more from her in the future. Full review to come.

1 Book, 357 pages in 24 hours, divided over 2 days, is how long it took for me to fall in love with books again. Not in a I-like-a-book,-put-it-down-for-a-bit-and-read-the-rest-later, but in a there-is-no-way-I-am-taking-my-eyes-off-of-these-pages-until-it-is-finished kind of way. It describes fangirls in a rational way to the rest of the world and, for me most importantly, it describes that intense feeling you get right after a concert that you can't explain and won't be able to relive without ...more

When I heard of this book I knew I had to get my hands on it. I absolutely love books that contain music and fame and lifestyles of celebrities, probably because I grew up on Hannah Montana and wanted to be a pop star when I was younger. This book was so much fun and it swept me away into the lives of rock stars, showing me the dark underbelly of the glamorous facade that many of them live. This book had me laughing, smiling and crying and I just fell so completely in love with it. A delightful ...more

My favourite of Sophia Bennett's books by far.

Nina was so easy to love and I was carried away with her on this life changing experience.

Wow! Wish I could've hung out with a fantastic boy band when I was 17. Completely jealous of a totally fictitious character - I really need to get out more. And yet, instead I am going to read more books.

In my opinion this book is perfect. Well when I actually finished the book I was damn jealous from the lead character Nina(I know she's isn't real). This book is just like working with ex band One Direction and falling in love with Harry Styles. What would you do if Harry Styles proposes you? Let me know on the comment section below.
It took me long to read this, mostly because there were other things (books and games) in my life that needed my attention. But now I finished it and it was AMAZING! <3

I just love books about bands, boybands or girlbands, about touring, about concerts. It is just so much fun, especially when done from the perspective from someone who isn't on the band.

Our main girl gets the chance to tour with the hottest band out there in her world. The Point. This thanks to some accident that happened in

There are lots of books out this year about boybands. Kill The Boyband (which I can't WAIT to read), and Love Song is one of them. Now here's the thing, I've never been obsessed over a band. I've never cried when they broke up, or tried to get into their hotel rooms, or any of that kind of thing. It actually freaks me out. To see little girls crying over One Direction is just bizarre, I don't get it. Though I do love to read about books about boybands. And Love Song is one of those books that ju ...more

The Point is a famous band and Nina's sister is a big fan. Nina accompanies her to one of their concerts and because they have special tickets they are allowed to meet the band members. Nina is only there for her sister, but when she saves the girlfriend of one of the band members they offer her a job as a personal assistant. Because of the chance to travel Nina reluctantly agrees. The job isn't what she expected, especially behind the scenes things aren't going very well. She has to be there al ...more

This book gave me all of the feels. Some of my friends had raved about this book and I knew I had to pick it up and I'm so glad I did! I was instantly gripped from the very beginning. I was there with Nina throughout this whole book and I loved every second of it and I need more.

Nina and her sister, Ariel who is a massive The Point fan, get meet and greet tickets and go to meet the band. To Ariel they are everything, to Nina they remind her of heartbreak but she would do anything for her sister.

This was a lovely little read, and I can see it being one of those ‘feel good’ books of the summer.

Love Song reads a bit like a fan girl’s biggest daydream – only happening to the wrong person. Nina’s sister, Ariel, is a big fan of the band The Point, but it’s Nina who is chosen to be the new assistant to the lead singer’s fiance. While she may not be their biggest fan, she soon warms to them as

OMG, thank you so much Sophia!

I don't ask a lot from books, I think, but for the last few that I've picked up, I've been beyond disappointed with the content. I've abandoned them, and that never happens.

I've been looking at Love Song in the stores for a while, and wasn't going to get it (yet) but I forgot my phone for work and had been reading something on my kindle app on there. And I needed something to read on my break so, Love Song it was.

I loved the voice of Nina right away. She had the rig

It reminded me so much of Girl Online (Zoe Sugg)! I loved this book because it has no clichés! Normally rockstar/Normal girl romances are so full of clichés and roll-your-eyes moments that it hurts but this book was exciting and fiery. Nina was awesome and really likeable along with Jamie who was cocky at first and then really heart meltingly romantic. I was literally wanting the book to go on at the end of the novel because I wasn't extremely happy with the way it ended. It was happy but short? ...more

The main reason I was drawn to this book was how close it fit in genre to the ‘Songs About a Girl’ series.

What I got was a lovely surprise of a sweet story! This book focuses mainly on the personal side of the rockstars. We are thrust into the lives of a boy band in the middle of a crisis-the lead singer is engaged to a fame seeking woman that no one likes. She then tries to steal the show throughout the book and our main character,Nina, is tasked with dealing with her.

The writing is magnetic,

A totally predictable YA romance. From the 1st page, you know whom is going to end up with whom and, despite hiccups along the way, that it will all pan out. That's not a bad thing as long as you realise that is what you are signing up for when you read this book. It was on ok read, but I preferred "You Don't Know Me" by the same author. The characters are well-written and there was enough emotion packed into the story to make me "tear-up" a couple of times. The plot, whilst being predictable, m ...more

3.5 stars. Cute, fun, and feel-good! I liked the practical heroine, and appreciated the realistic view of touring and being famous (i.e. not as fun as it sounds). I thought the whole book would be about Nina on tour with The Point, so the change of direction caught me by surprise, but I think I enjoyed the second half even more than the first. Sophia Bennett's books are just so intensely readable. (I stayed up late finishing this one.) She writes well, the characters are interesting and have dep ...more

Beautifully written. Gives a feeling of what it's like to be ripped from a fantasy. Music makes us all feel a certain way, whether it's something in our brain or our heart. This book portrays that magnificently. You will like this regardless if you are a fan of music or not.

My name’s Sophia, and I write about girls discovering their inner power. Sometimes they’re fashion designers, sometimes they’re would-be pop stars and sometimes they’re spies. They’re always a lot braver than they know, and I love it when they finally figure that out.

Since I won the Times/Chicken House competition in 2009 my books have been published around the world, from Germany to Brazil and Ja
