3 - Weird. But not to bad. Stars.

This is a bit difficult review to write to be honest with you. Because although I didn’t struggle to read Protecting His Assets, I really struggled with a couple of big parts of the story.

Let the games begin.

The premise of this one is what intrigued me the most, I liked that the author took the bodyguard/victim trope and turned it on its head, in that we have a female bodyguard protecting a strong confident alpha male. The storyline was a little predictable, but
When wealthy CEO Steve Nolan’s business partner finds out Steve has been sent threatening letters, much to Steve’s chagrin he insists he has a bodyguard. Imagine the CEO’s reaction when the bodyguard is a feisty, determined female . . . . life’s getting interesting!

Steve Nolan finds it difficult to agree to basic security instructions from his beautiful bodyguard. Instead of treating her role seriously he immediately tries to seduce her - not a good move when his life could be on the line! She’s

I love a great story that offers a twist from the norm. This book offers one in that instead of the hunky guy being the protector, it is the woman. Add in a bit of suspense and intrigue and this author brings a solid read that is captivating and entertaining too!

This was the first time I have had the pleasure of reading this author's work. I found the story interesting with the addition of some suspense and mystery. It added more to the plot than just the romance aspect, which was great too.

3.5 stars

Protecting His Assets was a good read with an interesting plot and well developed characters.

I enjoyed watching the relationship develop between Steve and April, they had great chemistry and both were likable/entertaining characters.

Overall a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon, I highly recommend this book.

I have a friend—a very dear friend—that loves bodyguard books, so I think I kinda read this one for her… Actually, no. I STARTED this one for her—and I finished it for me…

Handsome, successful CEO, Steve Nolan has a stalker. And because of that, he also now has a bodyguard. A very controlled, very attractive female bodyguard—one he’d like to take to bed.

April Porter just wants to do the job. She’s met guys like Nolan before—wealthy, charming and just looking for a little fun—so she’s not going t

I want to say that this book was an insta-love book but it was more of an insta-lust book. April was hired to protect Steve by his partner after he received a bunch of threatening notes that could jeopardise their company. There was an instant opposites attract/lust at first sight thing going on be

This book did not start so well, I never thought I'd give it a five stars when I started reading. But after a few chapters the story picked up, it turned very interesting and I got engrossed in reading. Characters started to sound more and more intriguing and there was a sense of mystery which kept me entertained through out. I especially loved the ending, it was really good.

Nolan is a math geek although you won't be able to guess that from his appearance. He can't sit still and keeps himself bu

What a nice change. We have April who is a body guard for the rich and sexy Steve Nolan. For him it's hard to look at April and not try to seduce her. For her, he is just another rich jerk and she has enough on her plate to handle as it is.

But as the story progresses so does an attraction between these two. But the question is can she keep him safe as well as her heart.

Loved this one! Steve and April are great characters and the chemistry between them is very believable. What starts out as a simple job for April quickly turns into much more. Steve Nolan is rich, powerful, and being threatened. April's job is to keep him safe. As his bodyguard she is suppose to blind into the background but Steve has different thoughts on that topic! Now not only is April protecting Steve, she's trying to protect her heart.

Definitely one I recommend.

This was entertaining. It had the right amount of sass, banter, insecurities from characters, intimacy and danger.

Steve is the guy that we would all like to protect. He is smart, gorgeous and not at all what he portrays to the world. Privately he is a kind sweet guy publicly he is portrayed as a player. Which is further from the truth as this book shows. He hides behind the persona so that he won’t get hurt. So people will never see the real Steve. Very few know the real Steve and that is how he

This one started out slow for me but quickly picked up pace and made for a great read. The characters were both strong and well developed and I found that I really liked the twist of the female being the one protecting the male in this story! J.K. Coi does a great job with this one and you will not be disappointed when you read it!

I chose this book because I like the publisher. Although I usually read their Ignite titles, I liked the cover for this one. I'm glad I gave it a try, because it turned out really well. I like the characters , and the story had a nice pace.

Steve is a very driven business owner. In the past, his family had been very prestigious, but his father's poor business decisions left them in ruin. Steve is determined to do everything he can to bring his family back into a position of power. On the other ha

When CEO Steve Nolan's business partner finds out he is being stalked, unfortunately he agrees he's in need of a bodyguard. Not knowing who is sending the threatening letters, he needs protection, and that protection is April Porter. When she walked in imagine his surprise that his bodyguard is a female. Maybe this could be fun!

April is dealing with a lot of things on her plate. All she wants is to do her job and be taken seriously. When Steve cannot adhere to even basic rules for his security,

J K Coi has taken your everyday story of the prey and the protector and flipped it on its head, making the heroin of the story, April, the protector in the form of a body guard to the prey, namely the very delicious Steve, the Company CEO. Steve’s company is on the way up and his business partner receives threats that could put the company in jeopardy. A stalker may seem a little cliché but works well in the pre

WOW! What a book!! Although this is book 2, I had no problems keeping up and never felt lost!

Steve Nolan, sexy CEO is in danger and not happy that he has to have a "babysitter". His friend, Ben Harrison hired this said babysitter, all because Steve failed to communicate with Harrison the threats he received. He figured it was none of Ben's business, however, Ben felt differently when it started to affect Optimus Inc, that Steve was CEO of.

I enjoyed this bodyguard romance with a twist, since it's the woman that's the bodyguard in this one! April was a strong and convincing character (and she gets some action scenes to prove her mettle) with enough vulnerability to make her a more complex character. Steve comes across as a dedicated family man, a playboy but with a good heart (and with much of what's been reported about him just gossip and not reality). The two of them made a good match. I did find it a bit confusing that Steve was ...more

CEO Steve Nolan has been receiving threats under his door so his partner at the company has decided to hire a bodyguard to watch over him. He did not expect someone like April. April was raised by her former boxer father and was almost an FBI agent. Definitely not the typical girl that he's used to but he still feels a strong chemistry between the two of them. Steve and April both have a lot of secrets and walls built around themselves but as they hang around each other more they feel those wall ...more

"Protecting His Assets" by J.K. Coi is the story of CEO Steve Nolan and April Porter. Steve has been receiving threats and wasn't really worried about it. His business partner hires him a bodyguard, which turns out to be April. I loved how the author used a woman as the bodyguard.

From the beginning there is amazing chemistry between Steve and April. It was great watching Steve and April's relationship develop into more than April just being his bodyguard. There are twists and turns, especially

I really enjoyed this one.

Really liked April and really felt for her and her troubles. She really showed strength and tried as best as possible to do the best for the people around her. I loved that she didn’t let things bring her down, it didn’t mean she didn’t break from time to time. Still, I felt she really needed a friend to confide in and unload her troubles.

Steve was a good guy, just too focused in his past and how to get back to that. He really needed help moving on, because

This is the first book I've read by J.K. Coi. I like the strong alpha type such as Steve Nolan, but I love the kick ass personality of April Porter even more. There was plenty of action and electrifying chemistry!

Protecting His Assets is book 2 of a series, but I read it as a standalone. I was able to follow along with the characters completely and there was no confusion.

This was a relatively quick read and I read straight through. There was intrigue and chemistry and a lot of other emotions packed into the story. I loved April's strength and how capable she was, but she was fearful of everything in her life. I can understand some of that based on her history, but I wished she would have just taken a ch

This book is book # 2 in the Bad Boy Bosses series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. I just recommend reading it in the order planned by the author so the reader has full knowledge and understanding in order to enjoy the book.

April meets Steve when she is hired to be his bodyguard. He has a lot of issues with this, because he feels she does not dress the part worthy to be seen with him. He has no issue with her job and her being a woman. Maybe his issue is just that he is attracted t

Protecting his Assets by J.K. Coi is a good book that I devoured very quickly. I really, really love that the heroine was the bodyguard. I adore stories like this because they are so few of them like that available and when I see a story like this, I gobble it up.

Steve Nolan is a cocky CEO, who doesn’t believe he’s in danger and doesn’t want April following him. After a few instances, he concedes that there is a problem and lets April do her job. They share a mutual attraction, but Ap
