An absolutely seminal book in the field of wordplay, but full of obscure words and coinages, including some presented in exercises to the reader, who is presumed to have memorized the entire English corpus. For my taste Borgmann draws out his chapters till long after they've worn out their welcome, and I'm not sure what a list of Presidential trivia is doing in a book about logology. While it lacks the historical importance of Borgmann's book, Ross Eckler's "Making the Alphabet Dance" is a bette ...more
