Short but in depth bios of several women. Title I believe is a bit misleading: "Outrageous" is not a good fit for this collection. Pioneering, notable, important--sure. Outrageous to me denotes something "shockingly bad or excessive", although I do see a second definition "very bold, unusual, and startling" which is a better fit, especially bold and unusual.

Really loved this. Good introductory reading for about a middle school or higher grade level. Fairly well balanced in terms of minority groups covered, although the author does state in the beginning that finding information on minority women on the frontier is harder, but over all, good effort to include African Americans and Native Americans as well. No women of Asian heritage, but I hope if the author ever revisits this work in the future, she might be able to find some new information to include.

NO RATINGS YET? How is that even possible? This book was pretty awesome because:
1. I love women
2. I love the American Frontier
3. I love books
I mean come on now.
Anyway, if you're looking for a book with basic biographies of not-so-famous women doing OUTRAGEOUS THINGS (One-eyed Charlie is def. my favorite, for serious), then this is the book for you. If you're not, GTFO.
