Alien Contact describes a variety of alien encounters, from those the reader would expect, like UFO sightings and abductions, to mythological and spiritual explanations. Written by two members of the British UFO Research Authority, it has neither the voice of advocate or skeptic, although it assumes that most accounts of alien encounters are true. It explores technological explanations and commonalities of abduction stories, and in so doing, seeks a rational explanation as to how these stories could be true. The book also points out that most alien encounters stories have occurred since the end of World War II, during a time characterized by mass media and the threat of nuclear war. It also describes how what used to be accounts of diverse aliens have conformed to one type of alien, the "Gray", and the role that media representations may have had in popularizing such an archetype.

Alien Contact is an easy and sometimes thought-provoking read about the notion that extraterrestrials have made contact with humans and the surrounding cultural ramifications. If you want to go down this path, don't set your expectations too high.

I Read long time ago, very interesting because introduced me to classical cases, but the book in general is a "collection" of cases, for some of them there is not much of a discussion on the cases, but it should be. It is overall a bit obsolete, but not a bad read.
