An amazing collection of what is inarguably the least accessible poetry in the world, usually limited to the self-propagating individual groups for whom these poems hold a more primary meaning, this work is amazing both in scale (covering everywhere from the farthest reaches of Alaska to the Australian Aboriginals) and in quality (for each poem is a well-honed representation of the natural world, one step closer to the reality of a thing instead of what symbolizes it). A perfect read for anyone interested in writing poetry, or for anyone interested in reading poetry outside of an industrialized context.
