About the author

Dan Towey

5 books2 followers
Like most guitarists raised in Midwest, Dan got his professional start with rock and roll and blues band. He made frequent explorations in soul, funk, disco, country, classical, metal, classical rock, and even polka bands in the fifteen plus years he spent on the road before settling down in one place long enough to get a degree in music composition.
Along the way, Dan found John McLaughlin, Wes Montgomery, fusion and mainstream jazz, and has never been the same since. Jazz has consumed most of his waking/playing hours for ten years or so in all aspects of music performance and composition. Dan has turned his energies to teaching and recording. Dan also transcribes guitar music for Hal Leonard Corporation. Some titles has contributed and been a part of include: Al DiMeola Solos, Friday Night in San Francisco, the Kevin Eubanks Collection, and the Pat Metheny songbook.
