Operation White Christmas was a quick, very sweet, and lighthearted read. I enjoyed the plot. Both Jim and Hollie have had some hard times. Jim's a widow, Hollie finds out her fiancé is cheating and they break up. Together Jim and Hollie find peace, healing and happiness. I loved all the snowy Christmas fun. Jim and Hollie were both very sweet characters. I do wish as a reader I would have got to know them better. Because it's a short story it wasn't very in de

Such a great holiday romance!
I loved both main characters and the chemistry between them was AMAZING!The story itself was short but very interesting and well-written.Both main characters have a strong and emotionally heavy backstory which made me like them even more. And who doesn’t love llamas?

4★s for a splendidly light, romantic Christmassy story with a nice blend of suspend-disbelief and real-life heartstring tugs. Short and satisfying.

Hollie has been jilted almost at the altar (2 weeks before), but only because she has sprung her fiancé (boyfriend of 8 years!) when seeing a text message from what is obviously a girlfriend. No spoiler here. It’s how the story opens.

What a wonderful read! While I was reading the story, I felt the Christmas atmosphere and couldn't wait for snow and to start with Christmas decoration.

The story starts with Hollie getting her heart broken by her now ex-fiancé. With her friends help she decides to make the best out of her sour situation and fulfil her wish of a White Christmas. Two months latter and finally landing on Canadian soil things don't go as planned, but lu

My first book by Nicki Edwards...and it won't be my last.

What a sweet book..and so very touching. It will have you tearing up.

Hollie Douglas left Australia and decided she was going to make a dream of hers come true. A White Christmas, and after being dumped by her fiancé and finding out that he was cheating she set out for "Operation White Christmas"..only she did not expect to get stuck in a snow storm in the middle of rural Canada. A cute, romantic, fuzzy, heart-warming holiday read.
The characters were sweet and likable, I enjoyed the 'culture clash' elements (Aussie meets Canadian) and the book had just the right length for this kind of story. I'm not too big on insta-love, but considering this is just a short novella, I'm more lenient on that.

I would have loved some sort of epilogue, though, just a little peek into the future (view spoiler)

Christmas novellas are everywhere in the final third of the year, and while they make good, quick reads to get you in the mood for the season, they can also be a challenge because of that length. It’s hard to convince a reader of a happy ending when people have only just met (and especially when it involves travelling to the other side of the world to be with someone!), but I think Nicki Edwards did a better job than most.

I’ve been surprised by how many allegedly Christmas-themed books have very

This is a very short little novella. Took me no time to read. The story is about Aussie girl Hollie, who invested eight years with her high school sweetheart (well they were together from when they finished school) only to find that he really wasn't into her and calls off the wedding two months out. In cancelling everything, she discovers she can't get a refund on her flight to the US so a friend persuades her to go anyway to have her dream of a White Christmas. many Aussies, ...more

Love, love, loved this book! Often I pick up a novella and am not satisfied because there just aren't enough pages to being the story line to a full arc or truly enjoy the characters. Not so with Operation White Christmas. The first chapter was a little rough, but after that it was smooth sailing and a dream to read.

Hollie and Jim are wonderful, the setting makes for a quaint, quirky white Christmas and the romance was slow and sweet. This is one I would buy and read again. Short but packed wit

Operation White Christmas was a sweet holiday read.

It was heartwarming watching Hollie and Jim get acquainted and fall in love.
I enjoyed this well written romance, the characters were likable and relatable with a great connection.

Overall this was a perfect holiday read that will leave you full of happy feels.

A wonderfully entertaining Christmas romance set in a beautiful winter wonderland.

It had been a long time since he'd had a woman wrap her arms around his waist and hang on like her life depended on it. It felt nice. Very nice.

After two months on her own, the touch of a man felt nice. Very nice.

OPERATION WHITE CHRISTMAS was a lovely, sweet contemporary Christmas romance. It was a quick read - one you won't want to put down once you've started. The cover initially drew me to the book; Just look

‘Operation White Christmas’ is a second-chance romance story and a sweet Christmas novella: perfect for reading in front of the fire. It was full of raw emotion and I liked the characters a LOT. Both seemed to be internally vulnerable (aka full of emotional baggage per blurb) but full of spunk and resilience that I greatly admired. There were many times that I laughed out loud or grinned along with

Operation White Christmas is a very enjoyable, sweet novella, just the thing to get me thinking about Christmas.
All Hollie wanted was to experience a white Christmas, so a Canadian holiday was booked as her honeymoon. Unfortunately her fiancée Steve broke off the engagement two months prior to the big day. Her friend Mackenzie jumps to action and together they plan Operation White Christmas, so that Hollie can have her wish. She embarks on her 'honeymoon' by herself, unfortunately she didn't rea

A wonderful holiday romance novella. Just like Hollie, I live in Australia and I've also dreamed of a white Christmas. I loved Hollie. She was a likable, relatable character who I could imagine being friends with. I loved the tension and build up to the romance.

This is part of the Escape to the Country series, but will work fine as a stand alone. I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

OPERATION WHITE CHRISTMAS by Nicki Edwards was a fun, fast read that I could not put down.

The story is this book was very well written and well developed and the plot was very fast paced and kept my heart beating just a little bit faster with the hope of true love still existing. The characters in this book are quite simply, wonderful, if I had to use one word. Hollie and Jim, two regular people who, for Hollie is in the wrong place and for Jim who is in the right place at the right time and hap

This is a cute, Christmas romance in which everything happens very quickly and everyone’s really nice (well, apart from the ex-fiancé), with snow and a cute baby llama. It’s an enjoyable read, but never delves particularly deep.

Of course, being a novella there’s no room for a long drawn out romance, but I have to admit this one was just a bit too sudden. Considering Hollie splits up from her partner of eight years just two months before her wedding, she doesn’t seem all that cut up about it. Tru

Hollie's fiancé, Steve, is a jerk- she completely dotes on him while he ignores her and is unapologetically rude. On their 8-year dating anniversary, 2 months before their wedding, Hollie goes to great lengths to plan an at-home evening to celebrate. Of course, Steve forgets, comes home and makes some rude remarks about all of the candles and blows it off to go to a friends house. While he's getting ready to leave, a

Are you looking for a great, yes, great romantic Christmas read, a book with a wonderful “Happily Ever After”? Then this book is definitely for you! I am not going to give a synopsis of the book; you have already looked at the books blurb or you would not be reading reviews. I will say this Jim and Hollie were meant for each other, and Steve (Hollie’s EX-2-months before the wedding fiancé) is a donkey’s butt. And, thank goodness for that!
I love the way Ms. Edwards writes this story. You can see,

Australian Hollie Douglas has always wanted to experience a white Christmas, so has planned a pre-Christmas wedding to Steve, followed by a two-week honeymoon at Niagara Falls (yes, the Canadian side). But things don’t always go to plan, and a series of unfortunate coincidences sees her stranded in a near-blizzard and sharing a house with the handsome Jim Bell and a baby llama called Roo (because what else would you name a baby llama? In Canada?).

It’s a novella, which makes a quick read that lef

I have read all the books that Nicki Edwards has written so far, and I would have to say that I think this one has to be my favorite I love Christmas books and can read them year round.

Hollie has been dreaming of a white Christmas and has planned on taking a trip to Canada for her honeymoon, however her boyfriend leaves her 2 months before the wedding. She decides to cancel all the arrangements for the wedding except her trip to Canada. She didn't cancel her hotel accommodations but her ex had.

This is a good Christmas novella to read. There is a nice mix of sad and happy in Nicki's story line. I haven't read any books from Nicki before and I love her people in this story. Hollie lives in Australia and is planning a Christmas wedding in 2 months. At least that was the plan until she found her fiancee with someone else. Spoiler. She finds that a best friend can help her plan a new itinerary. Spoiler. She wants to see Niagara Falls in the winter with snow for a girl in the heat. Spoiler. ...more

This book is adorable. I’m not even kidding. I don’t even have much to say about it (it’s short), other than the fact that I LOVED it so much. It’s one of my new favorite Christmas books, and I’m hoping to re-read it every year or so. It’s a sweet and swoony, feel-good, perfectly clean Christmas story that really got me in the holiday spirit. I loved the characters, the dog, the baby llama, the snow, the setting, the feelings, the activities they did together, the revelations, the writing style, ...more
