In today's world of high-stakes sports global conflict, it certainly seems like just a matter of time before the two intersect as they do in this complex debut novel. The book is billed as a thriller, and its hero Rory does rocket around the globe at breakneck speed hoping to solve the mystery of the Sporting Murders in time to collect the $20 million reward. A smart mystery/thriller/suspense book. I have read hundreds upon hundreds of this genre over a lifetime and this one stands out as one I will actually remember. The book has philosophical underpinnings well-suited for classroom discussion, but it's also action-packed and a great summer beach read.
