The cover had me at hello, it's fucking awesome. Then you have a band, a fucking hot band at that with a lead singer who will melt your panties off by singing.

And not only do you have all of those, it brings in a super natural feel into the mix where it takes you on a whole different type of spin.

Rhys is sexy, cocky, self destruct, that has the ladies dropping their panties for him as soon as he gets off stage. They want him, he's hot.

You got that right?

I don't even know where to start with this book. First of all, let me say, I did not take into account the numerous grammatical errors while considering my rating. Although I have to admit, not knowing the difference between your and you're is a huge pet peeve of mine and I cringed at the many times I saw the misuse of your.

First of all, the whole paranormal aspect of the book just DID NOT WORK. I didn't hate the characters

First off I must start with this cover. When I saw it, I was like heck yea Ill read this book. It's a cover meant for me. I'm a big music junkie and love the concert/festival scenes, so seeing that portrayed on this cover was a win for me. Then the colors, graphics and fonts really did come together in a badass way. Its a rockstar kind of cover. So kuddos to the person(s) behind the design.

I was excited to know that Giving Up the Ghost was being considered New Adult. I've been on this New Adult

Wow where to begin on a such a good book. When I first heard about this book, I knew it was going to be good. I mean come on a sexy rock star who is still passionate about a lost love. A man so broken he can't love again, or can he? A little paranormal twist thrown in and you have success!

The first time Rhys sees Saffron he is so taken by her looks. Rhys plans to bed her at first chance, what he doesn't plan for is how much work it was

I received this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you S.A Price.

First of all I’m going to say that this is the hardest review I’ve ever written. I’ve given it 3 stars, but I really wanted to give it more.

The very first thing that put me off a little when I began reading this book was that it was really confusing. I didn’t know who was talking at times and had to skip back to re-read passages. Also, during the first chapter alone we are either introduced to or the main character speaks

I really fell in love with this story and the two main characters right away. Rhys is the lead singer of the very successful 13 Shades of Red band and can pretty much have any woman he wants. For a while he had kept himself boozed up constantly and hooked up with more women then he can count. But, this is all just on the surface of who he really is because he does have a much softer side to him. Saffron is a beautiful smart strong character that knows what she wants and doesn’t take crap from an ...more

a solid 3.5 from me :)

I really loved Rhys ( a sensitive to the dead and helps them pass -even has a pet dead cat lol) and Saffron (really cool chick). I actually liked all the characters in this book minus the dead x-gf

There is all kinds of paranormal in this book from a good old haunting to witches and demons. Dead x sex, the whole ball of wax.

The supporting cast in the book all have some sort of power(s) minus one member of the band and Saff

This was a really good story. I felt there was a combination of the supernatural & an intense attraction that does end up to be more. Saffron and Rhys fall for each other quickly, and there are some sex scenes, just to let you know, and past all that, I think there was a hint of more than that fast pace lusty attraction. There is the fact that Rhys's deceased fiance, tries to haunt Saffron, and basically discourage her from being with Rhys, so does it work? There's also the fact that Rhys is ...more

I was given this book in exchange for my opinion. Thank You S.A. Price.

This is definitely 18+ and I really liked the story line. The paranormal aspect, doesn't always work. However, in this case it does. I like the Rock N Roll aspect too. Rhys and Saffron have great chemistry. I like that Saffron knows exactly what she is getting into with a Rocker, and is still willing to try and make things work. I liked the story line itself, it didn't drag on but gave you enough to keep you interested and f

The chemistry between Rhys and Saffron was amazing. I couldn't put this book down and can't wait for the next book.

Its difficult making a relationship work, even more difficult if your a rock star, then throw in the fact Rhys' dead ex is trying to break up the relationship and this roller coaster ride has a lot of twists and turns. Did I mention that Rhys can talk to dead people? I kept turning the page to find out if Rhys and Saff would find their HEA. I loved that the band was from New Orlean

WARNING: This book is intended for an adult audience, 18 or older.
Saffron Richards may have just gotten in over her head in taking on a gig with an up and coming band who's lead singer is known as a love'em and leave kinda guy. Then again, that is the reputation put on by Rhys Bellamy.
After losing the only woman he'll ever love, Rhys goes on a trip of self pity and refuses to emerge... well that is until he meets his new band manager, Saffron.

3 stars - A fabulous premise that mixes rock bands and ghosts!

When I was asked to read/review this book, I jumped at the chance. I've been reading a lot of rock band books with hot rockers trying to figure out their heart and the thought of adding a ghost issue to that was exciting. I wish I'd like it more.

The story breaks into the tale of two worlds for me. One world is the rocker band scene with a young unknown tour manager trying to prove herself. Though she feels the attraction to the lead s

Seeing ghosts isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Especially when the one ghost you want to see doesn’t want you to see her. Rhys has always known he could see ghosts and sometimes that helps him out, but other times it makes his life harder. When his girlfriend died in a car accident, all he wants to do is see her again. When she doesn’t let that happen he heads into a down whirl spiral of drinking constantly. All of that seems to change when Saffron joins the tour.

Rhys Bellamy is the lead singer of the extremely successful band 13 Shades of Red, but he isn't your typical rock star. Yes, he's the epitome of HOT, wrapped up in a tall, sexy, Cajun, emo package, but he also talks to dead people. All of them except the one dead person he wants to talk to - that's Phaedra, his fiancée, who was the love of his life, and the sole reason why he will never love again. He can (and does) get any chick he wants, but they mean nothing to him.

I highly recommend this book it truly had me hooked from the very first page. The storyline flowed and you felt like you were right there with the characters.

Rhys Bellamy is 'sex on legs' and the front man for 13 Shades of Red better known to most as 'Shades'. He has a gift of sorts in that he see the dead. Rhys has spent most of the time since the tragic loss of his girlfriend Phaedra in a drunkard stupor that was until the sexy demon Dante the partner of his producer XXieda pays him a visit a

**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.**

There were many things I liked about this story. I really liked both Saffron and Rhys, the main characters. Rhys is a hella hot rock star and Saffron is a no nonsense tour manager. I liked how these two characters came together, and let's face it, the sex scenes were scorching. I also enjoyed the paranormal aspect of the story(not going into this too much, as I don't want to spoil it). The ending and epilogue fell a little flat,

If the sexy cover did not intrigue you into getting this book, then maybe this will (but seriously? how did you not droool over that cover!?)

Rhys is man mending from a self-desstructive path of drinking, using and women, and the icing on the cake? He sees ghosts.

Rhys is recovering from his past, that haunts him. No, it literally does haunt him, his deceased girlfriend is a complete [excuse-my-language] bitch! Phaedra is an evil, selfish, spoiled little girl. She is so self-centered, she wants

This story has a lot going for it: ghosts, demons, sexy rock stars, groupies, and a ballsy heroine. A unique and brazen tale, it's a ghoulish carnival on a tour bus. But there's nothing spooky or hair-raising here. The paranormal elements never dip below a peripheral view. There's no explanation for the supernaturals, no mention of how many there are in this fictional world, yet all but one member of the band are "special". There's no otherworld-building. You just have to accept that everyone ha ...more

4 star review of Giving Up the Ghost (13 Shades of Red #1) by S.A. Price

This was a new author to me and a genre that I have not read a lot of. Initially I was a little lost, but I quickly became involved. I really enjoyed this book.

Rhys Bellamy is a troubled man, almost destroyed by the death of his fiancé. What hurts him the most is that he can see and speak to the dead and yet Phaedra has not come to him in death. The lead singer in the 13 Shades of Red band, he has spiralled down a road that

Wow, loved this one!
Rhys is a sexy rock god. Saffron just landed her dream job - to manage an up-and-coming rock band. She MUST stay away from Rhys. Unfortunately, Rhys has never met a challenge he couldn't win. Definitely New Adult!

This story is so well done! The chemistry between Rhys and Saffron (Saff) is so real and strong it's almost palpable. Their banter is easy to shift between and funny. They play off each other and it's not stilted or awkward.

The paranormal undercurrent isn't even a d

Paranormal books are not usually my style, in fact I would say I go out of my way not to read them. However this book caught my eye as a teaser for long hard winter was shown on one of the FB blogs I follow which I thought looked brilliant and therefore went in search of this! I've got to say it held my attention from the first chapter And the paranormal stuff enhanced the book rather than taking over. Okay, I think I would have to give this book 2.5 stars. I liked the concept of the story and the characters, especially Nyx. It was a fun, fast-paced read, and I liked the romance between Rhys and Saffron, although at times the book was bordering on erotic.
There were a few things that bugged me too. The main one was the amount of grammatical and editing errors. I feel like someone should have caught a lot of this before the final versio

A combination of contemporary and paranormal romance, this unique story about Rhys, the gorgeous lead singer of a popular band is exciting and fun. The cast of characters that the author has created have their own little quirks that give the story depth and add humor. Really good book. Once I really had the time to sit down with it, I finished it up in a day. The story is sexy & true to life for anyone who has spent any time with band boys. The heroine is strong, the hero sexy as hell, and the story moves along at a great pace. Only a couple of things that I could think of to make it better. One is to actually let us know what "the accident" was that happened to Rhys' ex that he was supposedly responsible for. It would give us a clearer image as to why Ph ...more

Giving up the Ghost is a story about Rhys the super sexy lead vocals in a rock band and Saffron a hungry super strong woman trying to make it in the rock business. I loved everything about this book from the amazing book cover to the sexy hot love scenes to the rock and roll vibe. I don't like to give spoilers so if you love Paranormal Romance and Rock and Roll you will love this book.

Really enjoyed this book. The whole dynamics of almost everyone in the band or surrounding the band having other abilities really had me. I liked the fact that it took a certain kind of woman for Rhys to realize that the person who he thought he loved never really loved him in the first place. Saff tried her hardest to fight off her attraction to Rhy but really come on who can deny a hot rocker. I look forward to more more this group because I would like to see where everyone ends up at.
A good story! I really liked the MCs. I was slightly disappointed that Saffron gave it up so quickly to Rhys (I thought her character was a lot stronger and should have been able to resist him a little longer) since her job may have been on the line!!

I look forward to the next book in the series.
Loved the rock star story. The writer being behind the emotions made you feel it even more deeply than just another story. Her personal experience of following bands made it come alive. I loved the supernatural parts of the story too, and I am looking forward to more of them.
