Kentucky Witches #1

A Broom with a View

Rate this book
She's your average witch next door.

He's a Christmas tree farmer with three sisters named after horses

It's a town so small it doesn't even have a Walmart.

None of them will ever be the same again...

Liza Jane Higginbotham is your average witch next door. Just a down home girl, she enjoys driving her truck, listening to country music and, oh yes, the occasional brew.

This witch just wants to enjoy the quiet life. When her no-good, hipster husband cheats on her with a trombone player, she moves back to take over the family farm in rural Eastern Kentucky. Here, she's expecting some peace, content to play in her garden, restore the dilapidated farmhouse, and throw her money away at the town auction house every Friday night.

But the town of Kudzu Valley just won't let a witch rest. From the high school basketball coach looking for a charm to help the team win the big game to Lola Ellen Pearson who wants to hex the local Pizza Hut for giving her food poisoning the night before her fourth wedding, everyone wants SOMETHING from the town's resident witch!

When Cotton Hashagen's dead body is found, though, all eyes turn to Liza Jane. After all, hadn't she JUST accused the local librarian of a terrible crime? With the townspeople and police turning their eyes to Liza Jane, it's going to take a lot for her to prove that she didn't put a "whammy" on him AND solve the mystery to find the real culprit!

Love this story. Read this so fast, ate it up in one sitting. Can't wait for the next in the series, please write quickly! Love this writer and everything I've read so far by Rebecca Patrick-Howard, real life haunting and fictional works. This is a lovely story, witches, ex-hubby, new business, country village, annoying neighbors and new starts. Funny and engaging, cuddle up with this easy flowing, cant put down book and enjoy! Brilliant. 10/10

This is a keeper

I truly enjoyed this book. I got involved with the characters and wanted things to work out for them. The mystery took second place to setting up the series but came to a satisfying conclusion. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Very entertaining. Frustrating knowing you have powers but not quite the ones you need sometimes. Fun characters with an outer line of romance.

Really enjoyed this book

I have read most of what Rebecca Patrick-Howard writes. I enjoyed this one because the paranormal books I usually read are intense and this book was a perfect change. lizy moved into her grandmothers house when her marriage fell apart and opened up her own business. lizy is a witch and reading the book makes me wish I was one too. If you want alight hearted book to read you won't be sorry with this one. I am looking forward to book 2.
