Meredith Molloney never thought she’d find a mate, let alone someone like Donovan Murry—one of the most powerful Alphas alive. Now that she’s no longer cursed and the evil Luciana Alvarez has been taken care of, she thinks life will finally settle down. Boy, has she never been so wrong.
In the middle of the night, Donovan gets a call telling him that his pack has gone to pieces. The news that his second in command has been found brutally murdered has Donovan packing his bags for Ireland, but the last thing Meredith wants to do is leave Texas. She’s heard about how the Celtic Pack are with outsiders. And Donovan has more than a few exes in the pack that will be less than friendly.
Meredith’s never let a few angry wolves stop her, and she’s not about to start now. She’s faced down much worse the past few months. But when she gets there, she finds that it’s not just a few exes who stand in the way between her and her Full Moon Ceremony with Donovan.
Meredith is thrust in to a deadly game of pack politics, one the fey have happily joined in on. When the dust settles, she knows she’ll either have everything that she wants or lose it all.
Aileen Erin is half-Irish, half-Mexican and 100% nerd-from Star Wars (prequels don’t count) to Star Trek (TNG FTW), she reads Quenya and some Sindarin, and has a severe fascination with the supernatural. Aileen has a BS in Radio-TV-Film from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University. She lives with her husband, daughter, and mischievous mini bernedoodle in Texas, and spends her days doing her favorite things: reading books, creating worlds, and kicking ass.
The ALPHA GIRL series began to chart a different course after Tessa & Dastien’s story was finalized in the previous installment with a brief interlude for Claudia & Lucas’s HEA in book 4. I thought that it was odd that one couple got four novels vs. the other duos that only got one, and worried that fewer volumes would result in less polished characters. SHATTERED PACK and Aileen Erin proved that sometimes less really is more.
I was happy that this title brought with it a return to this author’s werewolves because as much as I enjoy her witches and fey, my heart lies with her shifters. Meredith was recently cured of a curse that prevented her from transforming, so I did have some concerns that this installment wouldn’t be Alpha enough for me. That unease was swiftly put to bed when Molloney walked the walk, and talked the talk with Donovan’s weres.
Cosette played a small role in this book however, she definitely made it count. We learn quite a whooper about her, mind you it was something that I’d already suspected, and even though she’s forced to take a back seat since the Courts are all in a tizzy over the wolves’ latest slip up, she covertly saved Meredith’s bacon. The pack politics were interesting enough, but they still didn’t hold a candle to the fey.
The ex-lover plot line has never been high on my fun-to-read list however, Vivian did bring new meaning to the crazy ex-girlfriend cliché. There were many factors at work that were causing the instability with the Irish werewolves, and I was surprised by how much I liked solving the puzzle. Friends turn into foes, nothing is as it seems, and Donovan must make some tough decisions that he’s been avoiding for far too long.
SHATTERED PACK was well worth the year and a half wait between novels.
I have a confession to make.. I actually haven't read any of the previous books in this series! :x But I'm a fan of Aileen Erin's writing from Cipher so I knew when I was sent this ARC that I had to check it out ASAP, and I really enjoyed it!
I love Aileen's writing. For a reader who doesn't know anything about this world, I thought Aileen did a great job at weaving the past and present events together for me to understand where these characters were at in their lives. I love her details and characters in this story! It was all very intriguing. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, but I liked reading about the Irish pack's politics and how Meredith had to deal with all of it.
I liked Meredith. She was a lot of fun and definitely a strong heroine I could easily root for. Her inner monologue could drag or get off topic, though. In the end I found that made her feel more her age since she obviously still has a lot of growing up to do compared to Donovan. Ahh, I swoon all the swoons for him! He balanced Meredith out and I loved it. He was seriously great. I loved how he always treated her as his equal - true mates for sure. ;) Every character was fantastic! I definitely want to know more about Cosette, who was my favorite! Oh, and Meredith's brother Max!!
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I'm not going to spoil the story, but there is a lot of politics, action, and a few twists within! Everything is well paced and makes for a fun paranormal adventure! Oh, and it just ends wonderfully! I'm definitely going to check out the rest of this series.
Wow what can I say about this book, it's a brilliant good read, and I absolutely loved it. It was like I was with Donovan & Meredith on each turn of the page. It's definitely a must read and can't wait to get my hands on the next instalment of The Alpha Girl series
I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
What an appropriate title. Shattered Pack is a great addition to this world that Aileen has created. We get to see more of our favorite characters and learn more about the supernatural world at large. This is such a quick and easy read, perfect for one sitting. There is enough action and humor to keep you engaged and enough mystery to keep you turning the page. I really love these characters and can’t wait to see what’s next.
Things I Liked: -Meredith & Donovan. Their relationship to so great. I love their communication and openness with each other. Donovan is Meredith’s biggest cheerleader and believes in her more than she believes in herself. He has the utmost faith in her and her abilities and that love and support helps Meredith overcome some of her doubts. They banter and spar back and forth, but never take their frustrations out on the other. They have such a great relationship and I loved seeing more of it here.
-Expanding world. Getting to know more about Meredith’s history and her pack was really nice. We see how the Wayfarer pack’s dynamic is so unusual in the Were society and how her upbringing actually makes her the perfect person to help Donovan get the Irish pack in check. It was also great seeing more of her brother in this as well.
-Fey background. I really liked getting more info about the fey courts. Fey are one of my top supernatural creature so I loved getting more about their politics, culture, and history with different Were packs. And honestly, how could you have a story with supernatural creatures set in Ireland, without fey? It just makes sense.
-Writing. Aileen’s writing is so descriptive and full of detail. She really brings the characters, and especially the settings, to life. The words weave together to build this fantastical world full of rich histories and cultures. The writing really aides her storytelling and creates a believable world. Though some parts of the story can be predictable, there is always buildup and evidence within the story, so every reveal makes sense - even if it isn’t necessarily a surprise. Her writing builds on itself and leads you from scene to scene, taking you along piecing details together. Every twist or reveal feels earned and nothing is convenient or forced.
-Cameos. I loved seeing the gang back together. We get the most of Cossette - with her fey connection- but we also talk with Claudia and Lucas, and see Tessa, Dastien and more friends from St. Ailbe’s. Every time a familiar face showed up I would get all warm and fuzzy!
Things I Didn’t Like: -Vivian. Vivian seemed a little too one note to me. I know she was mad, but it seemed like she was only the crazy/psycho/jealous/love-obsessed girl who was catty and jealous of Donovan’s new girl. It was a little too cliche and over the top for me.
-Fight with Bhrunyz. The final fight when Meredith was taken back to the lair happened too quickly to build the necessary tension. It read like she was in and out in the span of a page and a half. There wasn’t enough time for me to by that she was in crippling terror and pain. It was a case of tell not show that failed in this context.
-Irish pack. Learning about the Irish pack was honestly pretty frustrating. How Donovan neglected them and didn’t even seem to notice the damage was aggravating, and made me like him a little less, because he was so clueless and absentminded.
These characters are all so endearing that I could read about any of them and be hooked. This series is pure fun and entertainment. Parts can be predictable, but the writing is never lazy. I loved being back in this world and seeing more of Meredith and Donovan.
I love this whole series, including this one. Mystery, adventure, telepathy, sexual tension... it's one of my top fun-read series. If you haven't read them yet, start with number one. Even though this one is technically a spin-off, you'll want the background of the others for the full impact. (I wrote a post about the series here: http://dragonauthors.com/bookwyrms/20... .)
I'm giving this particular one a four instead of the five I'd give every other book in the series so far, only because I go a little batty when smart characters do dumb things. (Yeah, she's impatient. That's in character. But she's not foolish! Argh!)
On the other hand, when you come to love characters so much that you feel like you know them better than the author (let's stop and think about that for a second... you know, really take it in... yeah, okay, arrogant much? but I'm sooooo guilty of it omg), well, that author clearly has something going for them.
(I can only pray that one day someone will be upset with us as authors for getting something about our characters "wrong." I'm gonna hug that someone soooooooooo hard! And then, you know, apologize. And then hug them again.)
I really enjoy this series and am glad Meredith got her own book. She's one of my favorite characters. I'm also glad everything worked out the way it did. Looking forward to reading the next one. Beautiful cover, too.
Oh boy. What the hell was that? I was sooo looking forward to get more of Meredith and Donovan, that I wasn't expecting not to like this book. I thoroughly enjoyed Tessa und Dastiens's story fo what it was - an angst teeny paranormal romance with a likable heroine - and found Claudias and Lukas story to be okay. We learned alot about Meredith in the previous books and really liked her, she was nice, sassy and something different altogether.
Were my expectations too high? I don't think so. This story just didn't do it for me. Like ... at all. The more I think about everything, the madder I get to be honest. The first 20 % I had my usual fun. But, lord, did it go downhill from there. Arrival: Ireland.
I don't even know where to start. Donovan for example couldn't have been more of a dumb fuck. Seriously, what. the. hell. Supposedly one of the strongest wolfs on earth, with loads and loads of experience - and he behaved like a twenty something, being an absolute blockhead. Sorry, but not buying this. And the explanation? Eh, everyone makes mistakes. But not one trillion at the same time! Sorry, but the stupidity of the situation and how he ignored fucking EVERYTHING doesn't make any sense at all. Oh my pack is constantly unhappy and at war with each other? Meh, they can take it. Hmm, now the bonds start to fade and apocalypse is near? Everything's gonna be cool. I let a mad wolf roam free and murder lots and lost of my wolves? But I stuck my dick in her, so now I have to tread carefully. Not my fault, there just wasn't any evidence! Followed by a: Wow, I didn't know my pack hated me that much, I don't know what is happening, I think I'm gonna give them up. ... This annoyed me to no end.
But Meredith, normally my favorite of the series wasn't that much better. Her faulty behaviour in the beginning was kinda understandable since she is young and doesn't really look ahead. Everything that followed after this was just weird. Why did she even go with Donovan to Ireland? Regarding pack business she was almost totally useless. Alright, almost everyone warned her that the Ireland pack is not happy with his alpha and his new mate, furthermore they seem to be downright hostile ... and oh
A few more things irked me, but I am pretty sure, they first and foremost annoyed me, because I felt grumpy throghout the book, the would have been minor issues normally. Like, why don't we get to know more about Meredith's parents? Especially her mothers relationship to her. Why doesn't she ask for more help from her friends? Why doesn't she almost talk to them at all? This was met with flimsy excuses. And really, is there not even ONE likeable person in the Ireland pack? Just one? No? Nobody? Well shite.
Like, seriously? That is how we are playing this now? Yeah, you already could guess it, I am seriously grumpy. I waited patiently for this gem, which was postponed a few times, but it doesn't matter at all, when a good story is written. This was a joke for me. I would have gladly waited two years more to get a better one.
Even worse, I saw a LOT potential here. The fey beast was absolutely intriguing and if done right the whole "shattered" pack businnes could have been so interesting, but the way it was dealt with ... Just ... naw.
As always I did like the writing style, and there were a few nice action scenes, as well as a thrilling ending. But the rest of the book was absolutely tainted by the depiction of Donovan and the unbelievable stupid way a " wise" being like him behaved. Like I said. Not buying it. At all.
Lord, please don't let the next Tessa and Dastien book suck.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I began the Alpha Girl Series with the first book a few years ago. Once I start a book, I hate not finishing it. With Becoming Alpha, I remember nearly putting the book down. Gasp! Thankfully, I persisted, and this series has become one of my favorites!

Meredith is thrust into a deadly game of pack politics, one a fey beast has happily joined. When the magic and dust settle, she knows she’ll either have everything that she wants or lose it all.
REVIEW: I’m a huge fan of the Alpha Girl Series, but I wasn’t sure how much I would enjoy the series now that it has moved away from the main couple that we’ve come to love. I shouldn’t have worried. Like the last two books, Aileen Erin managed to pull it off!
Meredith and Donovan are a great couple! I love the way the author wove Meredith's troubled past throughout the series. Her character growth made me instantly empathize with her—she doesn't know the meaning of defeat! She was the perfect mate for Donovan. I love the mystery of Donovan. Unfortunately, I expected to learn more about him, but he came off as more of a secondary character. *pouts* He was supposed to be the most dominate alpha werewolf ever, but Meredith showed him up in every scene. While I understand this was her story, it was his as well, and his lack of alphaness was a little disappointing. Thankfully, Aileen Erin managed to expertly combine action and fantastic characters with an unforgettable love story to redeem the book.
Overall, I enjoyed the story and gobbled it down in one sitting. The story might have developed a little slow, but I found the ending was well worth the wait! If you enjoy the Alpha Girl Series, you won’t want to miss this edition. I can’t wait for the next book, where we move back to the main couple…releasing next year! *whimpers*
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. Posted from my site: www.StaceyBrutger.com
When I was originally requesting this book, someone told me that you don't need to finish the rest of the series before starting this one, since it was focused on a different set of characters. And while that was true, it still ruined a lot of things for me. Definitely read this series in order, unlike me.
The book was still lovely. I remember Meredith from the brief introduction in book one, and I really did like her back then. Reading this book made me fall in love with her even more, you really get to see her character development and just how badass she became. Her romance with Donovan is absolutely perfect, you can really tell that they're a couple that brings out the best in one another. Donovan has that strong personality, but when he's around Meredith you can really see his sensitive side, and I absolutely love it.
I loved seeing new characters and new settings in this world! Aileen's writing had definitely exceeded my expectations. The world building and the way this plot was paced was absolutely perfect. What a fantastic read.
Aileen Erin’s SHATTERED PACK is a wonderful addition to the Alpha Girl series. The story takes place after the fight with witch, Luciana, and her demons. St. Ailbe has been closed. Meredith Molloney returned to her home in Colorado, with the Wayfarer Pack. Meanwhile, her mate, Council of Seven Alpha, Donovan Murry, is at a meeting with the supernatural community dealing with the fallout of the battle exposing them to the humans. Since that is enough to undertake, Donovan needs to return to Ireland because of a murder in his pack. Of course, Meredith will not let her mate leave without her, even though she has been warned that the trip will be dangerous for her. This contemporary paranormal fantasy is suitable for young adults.
As always, Aileen Erin, does a fantastic job with her plot and character development. Having recently gained access to her wolf, and knowing she would need to change packs, Meredith grew a great deal in this story. I like Donovan. He is one of the strongest werewolves. Meredith and Donovan are discovering how their actions affect each other being true mates. I love how comfortable they are around each other, and that Meredith will challenge Donovan. I enjoyed the plot. The dynamics of Donovan’s pack was interesting. The story flowed well. There was a lot going on that kept the novel thought-provoking. There were mystery and twists. I’m looking forward to the next book from the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I read the first book in the series, Becoming Alpha, and really enjoyed it. However, I kind of lost track of the series and before I knew it, Shattered Pack was coming out. I was assured that it could be read as a stand-alone since it features a new pairing of characters. I was really excited to get back into this world and catch up with everyone. I will say that the beginning was a little slow for me since I hadn’t read whatever book that was being referenced a lot. Apparently Donovan and Meredith have been true mates for a while and are gearing up for their ceremony. They had a run-in with witches and demons and it was clearly something big enough that it was still brought up in this book. I did feel a little left out when it came to talks about events that happened in previous books, but once the story picked up, that was all left behind and we started to focus on the here and now for these two characters.
Donovan is a council member for all shifters as well as an Alpha to an Ireland pack. Trying to juggle the two hasn’t been easy and he’s clearly been neglecting his pack. When things start going south back home, he and Meredith head over to see what’s going on and figure out if he can repair his pack. Since I didn’t read the previous stories I have no idea how old Donovan is. There’s talk that he’s really old and should know better when it comes to certain things, meanwhile, I’m pretty sure Meredith is still just a teen. So with that being said, I really felt that Donovan should have known better and should have handled things a lot differently. I get that he felt like he owed his pack for being absent so much but tip-toeing around issues because you don’t want to stir the pot just annoyed me. Maybe if we got some chapters in Donovan’s POV we would see that he was being productive but from what I saw, Meredith was the only one hunting down the troublemaker in a pack full of hostile wolves who were none too pleased that she was there. She stuck her neck out more times than I could count between reaching out to other pack members and questioning the local police. I just felt like for a werewolf that was “oh so old and powerful,” Donovan really dropped the ball. I would expect all of this more from a fellow teenager or young adult who just took over a hostile pack, not a well-established Alpha wolf.
I thought the mystery of the novel was handled really well. Who doesn’t love to read a “who done it” story and try to figure out who the culprit is. It’s even better when you get it wrong. Me? I was oh so close, but I did not get the cigar. So to that I applaud the author. She left hints and clues throughout and although I was picking up on them, I locked onto the wrong character. I always love it when I am unable to figure out who the villain is.
Shattered Pack was an interesting story. I liked the mystery behind it all and the fact that you knew the clock was ticking. While I didn’t care for the Hero, I really enjoyed the heroine and thought she stepped up for the both of them. Even though it’s said you can read this as a stand-alone, I definitely recommend reading the series as a whole. There’s just so much that references previous events and characters that I kind of felt like the tag-along friend who doesn’t know anyone at the party. I was still able to follow and enjoy the story but I think I would have enjoyed it so much more if I already had a base knowledge of the characters and their backgrounds.
I received an early copy (I had it pre-ordered) in exchange for an honest review.
Rating: 5 Stars
In Shattered Pack we follow Meredith this time around instead of Tessa. I loved Meredith from the first book on and when she found her mate Donovan, Alpha of the Celtic Pack….I was so in love with him. So a book with them at the center was totally something I needed. So when we let off our gang had faced down Luciana and her hoard of demons and come out on top but they also exposed themselves to the public. This makes things a bit uneasy as the world comes to terms with it and the different communities are rattled with the exposure. Donovan is stretched thin between his job as an Alpha and as one of the Seven already but add in this mess and it's hit a breaking point. His pack isn't in the best shape but when he gets the call that his second has been murdered they head for Ireland. Not an ideal time given the tensions but even with some exes and not so friendly welcome Meredith is there for her mate never one to let a few angry wolves stop her.
Again I love that we get a book focused on Meredith and Donovan. I loved them in the previous books, I mean I imagine him with the accent and….well yeah. But Meredith is such an amazing character. She is so strong and sweet. She loves her friends fiercely and believes friendship outranks everything else. I love that about her. Donovan is so powerful but he doesn't flaunt it and is really just a softie. They really balance one another out.
We get to see more about the world at first, how the normal world is dealing with the whole news of supernatural. Things have been flipped and the school they call home isn't safe so we go home with Meredith. Getting to meet her family and know the pack she has been a part of outside of her satellite pack was great. Her family is serious business. It makes sense why Meredith is the way that she is, strong, fierce, and loving. Then we shift to Donovan's pack and it is a completely different story. They have been largely without an Alpha for so long as he had been stretched thin with his work for the Seven and things have fallen into disrepair. To see the contrasts was great. I also loved how Meredith went in knowing it would be dangerous but also knowing this was an important part of the man she loves so she wants to make it work and improve things.
There was lots of everything we love in these stories from romance (Can I say enough how cute Meredith and Donovan are together) to pack politics, mystery, suspense and tons of action. There is so much happening you can't put the book down for a second. From getting to know some new players to seeing our old favorites it flew by and as always I need more. I can't wait for book seven in the series and I'd be happy to follow any of our couples around but I can't wait to see what happens with the Celtic Pack.
Meredith had been sent home from St Ailbes as it had closed indefinitely. Lucianna was an evil witch who had cursed Meredith so she couldn't connect with her inner wolf. And Meredith had slowly lost power and sh had almost died. The curse had been broken and Luciana was dead. Meredith had a great mate Donovan. He was the Alpha of the Irish pack. Meredith understood why Mr. Dawson had closed St Ailbes. Since werewolves made global news by fighting Luciana and her demons in the chapel in Santa Fe. Donovan was dealing with the fallout of their exposure. The Council of seven werewolves were in Canada, meeting with a delegation of witches. Fey and other supernaturals. A few months ago Meredith was still cursed and no were in his right mind would go out on a date with Meredith let alone be her mate. But then Tessa broke the curse . Meredith owed Tessa her life. Donovan was one of the most powerful werewolf’s in the history of the werewolf race. Donovan's pack was notoriously unfriendly. Meredith’s father had kept her confines to the property because of how much Meredith had been on the news lately. . Cosette was fey but finally texted Meredith back and they met at the mall. Cosette gave her a green velvety pouch Now the bracelet in the pouch would protect Meredith.Cosette said to put the bracelet on and not to take it off for any reason. Cosette said Donovan's pack was a mess and would get worse. Also Cosette warned Meredith not to go to Ireland right now if she could help it.Cosette said she was getting hauled into hiding. Cosette also told Meredith to look for the truth. Donovan was one of the seven werewolf’s of the Council of Alphas that ruled all the packs. Then Donovan’s second was murdered and Donovan had to go back to Ireland and Meredith decided she was going with him so she could be at his side. Even though Meredith knew she would be in danger she went with Donovan as he was her true mate. I loved this story. It had so many things in it like: an Alpha’s council. a monster. Fey, a mad wolf. A messed up pack. Werewolves, suspense. Intrigue, action, honor, love, humor, strength, a true mate, and so much more. I loved how even though it was dangerous Meredith went to Ireland to be at Donovan’s side. Also Meredith wouldn’t back down from Donovan’s pack no matter what. She was to be the Alpha female and no one else. Meredith showed strength, courage, bravery, loyalty, love, honor, and determination to name a few things about Meredith. I also loved how Meredith chanced her own life to not only save Donovan’ mother but the mother and her children as well as other things she had done during this story. This story had a great plot and kept my attention from beginning to end. There was even a twist or two during the story. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I really can’t think of anything wrong with this story as far as I am concerned. I loved the characters and twists and turns of this story and I highly recommend.
3 STARS This book was good- not the best- but good. Honestly to be straight this is the second book in this series that didn't exactly pique my interest.
This story is about Meredith and Donovan- not the best ship (Claudia and Lucas are my OTP hands down) but a nice story. I liked Meredith's badass-ness and honestly I'm not really to hot on Donovan- I guess he's okay. Compared to other books (or lets say Bruja -my favorite book which may or may not be due to Claudia and Lucas) it was kinds bland and dull (more like the 2nd book in the series) I legit thought that meredith and donovan would be like the jen and decebel (from grey wolves) of this series- but I guess I was wrong. *sigh* To put it straight MEREDITH AND DONOVAN LACKED ANY ROMANTIC OR STEAMY PARTS WHATSOVER.
But honestly JUST WRITE ANOTHER BOOK WITH LUCAS AND CLAUDIA.
I'm not too keen on the next book , and honestly, I'm still bitter that Lucas and Claudia barely got any screentime in this book. but I guess I'll still be continuing this series (in hopes for more Lucas and Claudia *fingers crossed*)
so i just finished it but i didn t get that feeling... that warmth... it was like it was missing something or not complete.. i felt like Donoven and Meredith s love was weak at some point i started to think if the author really put her 100% in this book.... sur he was there an all but still when i compare it to the relationship of Dastien and tess it was pretty weak and idno i wanted it to be more..
*Review copy received from InkMonster via Netgalley*
Wow... I'm kind of speechless. I knew the first time we met both Meredith and Donovan that there was something special there. The two of them just fit. We really get to see that in this book. I loved the dynamics and the outline of the story. Here were a few spots where it seemed to drag a little but the drama and mayhem made up for it!
*
They've battled crazy Bruja, demons and now... they've got a few things coming at them at once. Meredith is having a daily battle with her brothers, who are trying to toughen her up and make sure she is ready for the Irish pack. Cause, seriously they're in a bad place. The true mates are called back to Ireland when the is a death in the pack. Donovan's second is murdered and the pack in chaos.
The chaos is worse than they first thought. Vivian, Donovan's third, who will now act as second is three shades of cray cray but until they can "prove" she's gone mad they have to bide their time.
But when tragedy strikes again, and a pup in the pack is killed, all bets are off. Both Donovan and Meredith have to find out what is going on, and who is the one behind this. The packs bonds are failing... if Donovan doesn't get control soon... there will be more deaths and the anarchy will continue.
Meredith, the once cursed wolf is not to be deterred even when she is face to face with the danger surrounding them. She stares down the threats and is determined to take it down.... even if that means she does trying.
for the sake of this book, I went so far to spend 40$. and got the whole series for good measures I was never disappointed, never bored, Meredith kicked ass as good Aileen heroin as it get, she`s the best and was prepared for her whole life to be where she ended up being .. the strong mate of DONOVANUGGGHHH HE`S SO PERFECT yet realistic! I mean .. being Irish, one of the seven, and the alpha of a rowdy pack makes the man either a too much to freaking handle perfect, or flawed, and he was flawed .. and this is what I love about this series`s heroes .. they are not perfect even if every indication compared to other characters in other series says so
I loved it .. I`m happy and satisfied with it from the beginning to the end
This was such a disappointment. After all the buildup to Donovan's rep as a kind extra powerful were, it is such a let down to read about how he let down his own pack.
It is totally not understandable how he could have let some crazy ex-gf ruin his credibility with his pack -something that apparently got rectified within few days after Meredith joined him. So are we to understand this all-powerful leader of the Weres was so incompetent as to manage his own pack, unable to bring justice to a suspected murderess and had to rely on his new partner for cleaning up his mess? Wow...
If he is so incompetent, why is he allowed to act as a decision maker for all Were packs? Somebody who cannot manage their own home - how is their credibility in managing a country?
Also the whole interaction between Meredith and the pack seemed off - like unnaturally forced to show Meredith in a good light and villains in a bad light.
Overall a very disappointing and lack-lustre read.
It has been over a year since I pre-ordered this book, and I'm starting to get really ticked off. If anybody in any other profession decided they didn't want to work for a year because they had a baby, they would be fired. The publisher needs to hold this author responsible and get this book out or risk losing their customer base. The book's release date was just pushed back again, this is the third or fourth time that I remember it being pushed back. If it does not come out soon I will be canceling my pre-order and completely stop reading anything from this publisher.
**4.5 Stars** Meredith knew that everything was going to change after supernaturals were outed, but she had no idea that her life would be so turned on it's head. She is pretty much locked up at home since her face and streaked hair is recognizable from the leaked video, but her new mate is off trying to smooth the relations between the Fey and the Werewolves. As if that is not enough to deal with, her friend Cosette tells her that she needs protection from her mate's pack, but why she has no idea. Meredith is in over her head and only her force of will and some luck will keep her safe.
I loved Meredith (and the small bits of Donovan I saw) from the other books in the series, so I was incredibly happy to see that she was getting her own book. Side note, this is book 6 in an ongoing world where the backstory ties together, so I highly recommend starting at book 1 because you might be lost and miss out on some of the awesomeness.
I swear, each book gets better (and this is coming from a fan girl who loved the series to start with). I have enjoyed every minute of this book and will read what ever Aileen Erin wants to write at this point. I enjoy how she mixes the supernatural worlds up, bringing everything that I love to the surface and then adding her own spin- such as the werewolf mate bond and hierarchy, the Fey and their rules and hidden agenda, the witches and their culture... seriously, it is all so good. I'm pretty sure I am just gushing at this point, but this has turned into one of my favorite series and I think anyone who loves supernatural, adventure, strong females and true love should pick these up.
I am glad that I get at least one more book in the series with Tessa and Dastien, but with all the side characters (cough cough Cosette), I would love to see more spin off books.

Meredith Molloney never thought she’d find a mate, let alone someone like Donovan Murry—one of the most powerful Alpha werewolves alive. Now that she’s no longer cursed and the evil Luciana Alvarez has been taken care of, she thinks life will finally settle down. Boy, she has never been so wrong.
In the middle of the night, Donovan gets a call telling him that his pack has gone to pieces. The news that his second in command has been found brutally murdered has Donovan packing his bags for Ireland, but the last thing Meredith wants to do is go with him. Cosette just warned her that the Irish pack isn't so happy about Donovan's choice in mates.
But Meredith’s never let a few angry wolves stop her, and she’s not about to start now. She’s faced down much worse the past few months. But when she gets there, she finds that it’s not just an angry pack that stands in the way between her and her Full Moon Ceremony with Donovan.
Meredith is thrust into a deadly game of pack politics, one a fey beast has happily joined. When the magic and dust settle, she knows she’ll either have everything that she wants or lose it all.
The battle lines are drawn and the strike comes suddenly. Only one victor will will live to see tomorrow, Who will walk away and who will die?
My rating of "Shattered Pack" is 4.75 out of 5 stars.
I recieved a copy of this book in exchange of an honest review. I think I’ve been looking forward for Meredith’s story since she was introduced in the first instalment, Becoming Alpha. And when this book finally came out I was beyond stoked!
Shattered Pack focuses on Meredith and her oh-so-powerful and uber-lickable mate, Donovan. Alpha of the Irish pack and one of the Seven. Following the previous fight with the powerful witch Luciana, St. Ailbe was forced to be closed. With no other choice, Meredith had to come home to Colorado while her mate went separate ways to handle matters as one of the Seven (the main council of werewolves or some sort). But when a case of murder happened in Donovan’s pack, he needs to overcome even more stress of returning back to Ireland and solve it. Meredith, being a good mate that she is, follows him back to Ireland, despite all the warnings.
Aileen Erin did a really great job in exceeding my expectations with the plot and (of course) the characters! I mean, let’s just take a moment and swoon over how sweet Donovan is, and how kick ass Meredith is, they’re just perfect with each other. I love the fact that we get to delve into another pack’s (Donovan’s) environment, despite it being a bit of a hassle (you’ll figure it out when you read it, trying to keep it spoiler free here). The writing style was still a two thumbs up, although I felt that it was a tad slow in the beginning.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this book! great addition to the series.
So Tessa has Dastien, Claudia has Lucas and Meredith has Dovavan... They have all had their own book except Meredith and Dovavan and now it's time for that...
Dovavan is one of the seven. He is also Alpha of the Irish pack. His true mate is Meredith and things are starting to go wrong in his pack.
Since he became one of the seven he stopped visiting his pack due to being busy with council business. His pack is in pieces and his second in command is killed. His third in command is a mad wolf but he needs evidence about her madness in order to call a Tribunal.
Meredith is going with him to Ireland to help sort out his pack. But the problem is the Irish pack is known to be ruthless, nasty and unwelcoming.
In this book we see Donovan and Meredith completely and utterly in love. We see how much Meredith means to Dovavan and how he needs to her in order to gain control over his pack, deal with the death of his second and everything else that is going on.
Meredith goes from being a cursed girl who can't access her wolf. To finding her true mate in one of the strongest Alpha's alive. She now has to face the Irish pack and survive.
This book I have to say is my favourite by a long shot.
I waited for a while for this book to be released and was excited to catch up with the characters of the series only to realize that this book is truly Meredith and Donovan's story as the two travel to Ireland to Donovan's pack. Once there, the couple faces multiple problems. There are some plot twists and turns, some are predictable and others not so much. Ultimately, I really wanted to like this book more than did in the end. There is a bit of repetition with some of the inner dialogue, and at times the flow of the book felt rushed as some scenes felt glossed over. I guess, for me, it came down to Donovan's character, who appears to have gone from this super, awesome, alpha to a male lacking in character.
I did however, like catching up with the characters and I liked that Meredith is coming into here own. In the end, these are my personal thoughts and I'm definitely not in the majority as Shattered Pack is not my favorite book in the series. I am looking forward to book 7 and catching up with Tessa.
So after being in a reading slump and not having the desire to read, I am happy to return to one of my favourite series. If you haven't read this series yet, you better get to reading because it is just so awesome. As usual the author does not disappoint with book 6 in the series. I was a bit sceptical about Meredith's story but I'm also glad to have read it and I thoroughly enjoyed it. So thank you Author for taking the time to write it. It had a nice plot twist which I also didn't see coming. .. no spoilers!!! What I enjoyed was that I couldn't put the book down until I finished it. Now I cant wait to read more about what comes next in this series. Roll on book 7.
